Sam Webb not so Cryptic Tweet
After the game, Jake Butt, who holdsmultiple BCS offers, said he has a #1 school, and #2 is not close -#Michigan ($) bit.ly/x1JwDN

I'd bet my ass on it.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:42 PM ^
He did say that the fact that Michigan was for sure #1 was "definitely subject to change". I know he's planned on taking his time in determining where he wants to go, so if either of those two offered, yes, I would expect them to be strong contenders for his services.
Note that one of the comments he made when I first talked to him was that the time that a team offers him didn't matter, meaning getting an early offer doesn't give a certain team a certain advantage.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:56 PM ^
Well that's...a downer.
February 6th, 2012 at 11:43 PM ^
Yeah, that's a real pain in the ass.
Did I do it right?
February 6th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
Since when does Sam need any confirmation?
February 6th, 2012 at 10:11 PM ^
What is Butt's preferred position?
February 6th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
Michigan is recruiting him as a TE. He plays DE also.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:14 PM ^
He's being recruited at TE, so I would assume he's ok with that.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:18 PM ^
Thanks. could have easily googled it but it didn't appear for some reason.
edit: thought it was Bute.

Trying....so....hard....to not make.....sex joke........

glad that Mike Cox will have graduated. Can you imagine? This in itself would require many threads.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:38 PM ^
but my butt's preferred position is on the chair.
February 7th, 2012 at 12:04 AM ^
Ok, that crosses the line.

Don't know why nobody will spell it out. For those of you not too familiar with football position abbreviations, Jake Butt is a Tight End, but he also plays Defensive End.
February 7th, 2012 at 9:06 AM ^
Does he PLAY tight end, or does he HAVE a tight end? That's the question here.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:20 PM ^
TE to go along with Hill. Hill is more of an H-Back type, where as at 6'6", Jake is a pure TE.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:22 PM ^
I would have named him Kingsley if I had a say in it.
February 6th, 2012 at 10:28 PM ^
Kingsley Zissou Butt?
February 6th, 2012 at 10:36 PM ^
Butt jokes. I hope his sister Mya isn't reading Mgoblog!

Kingsley (Butt) Zissou .

Butt. But not Butkis.

Is that a traditional tOSU stronghold? I don't put much stock into the "who Urban wants out of Ohio Urban will get" talk, yet I'm sure the lure won't be as strong outside of their pipelines.

suburb of Columbus. Picktown Central is normally the football power, but North produces some good talent too.
February 7th, 2012 at 12:18 AM ^
a decade ago, the football strength and focus stayed at Central (the building which used to be just Pickerington), but North (the new school) has done a nice job of building a strong program over the last few years. If North could've held Central from scoring in the last minute this last season in their head to head meeting, North would've made the playoffs and Central would've been out (Central eventually went to the finals and lost). North has still not defeated Central in regular season or playoffs.
North's 2012 OL Pat Elflein is, I think, their first osu commit. Snowplow was another North product; his siblings, though, transferred or went all 4 years at Central. Many more MAC commits than any BCS commits at North. So not quite the osu stranglehold...but both Luke and Brady were visiting North this last fall; I'm guessing Jake was the main attraction.
I'm hoping Michigan also takes a look at RB Godwin Igwebuike while they're in town; he's been great in all three phases of the game - little preview in his video.

With a name like Butt it would seem tight end is his natural position.

STOP making this nice young man the butt of your jokes.
Have you no sense of decency?
February 6th, 2012 at 11:28 PM ^
These cracks are becoming too much!
February 6th, 2012 at 11:42 PM ^
I'm guessing his favorite position is behind
February 6th, 2012 at 11:42 PM ^
Man, something smells here tonight...
February 7th, 2012 at 12:21 AM ^
Butt don't read too much into it?

Lets not sit down on this one.
February 7th, 2012 at 9:42 AM ^
I hope he "runs" fast!
February 7th, 2012 at 1:48 PM ^
I'm surprised you all have thus far missed the obvious that he's going to be our Tight End. Or did I miss something somewhere?
February 7th, 2012 at 3:27 PM ^
Looking forward to watching 4 years of Shane Morris delivering the pigskin to Butt!! Word is he prefers tight ends to wide receivers.
