Sam Webb: Michigan trending well for Hill, Asiasi, and Tagaloa
I didn't see this posted, but Sam tweeted this info yesterday. Specifically -
"Another REALLY positive development in #Michigan's courtship of Lavert Hill"
and
"#Michigan gaining momentum with big time West Coast duo too"
Now, I follow Sam on twitter. I do not have access to his $$$ article. Because it's only an alcohol problem if you pay to drink it, right? Thought I'd pass along my non-information seeing as it sounds like really awesome non-information.
Couple this with the fact that Dwumfour believes that Michigan will have the #1 class on signing day, and we may have hit on a few bigtime prospects.

Friday will be very telling for us since that is when Chase Allen will be making his announcement. If he does not pick us, then I think we can begin to be more positive on Asiasi.

If Dwumfour feels good about our class, I've got a really good feeling about it as well! He's certainly in the know...

Not to be the "THIS" guy and add absolutely nothing to the conversation . . . but THIS.
So hard.

I agree. That's like a two for one deal.

is not looking at the 247 class recruiting ratings but is positive we will land Gary which in his mind will get us the #1 class. That guarantee is all I need to agree we will have the #1 class no matter what the rankings say........Just bring on Gary baby!

I like our chances at future B10 titles with Harbaugh and top five classes.

LSU already has 16 composite top 300 players with a high likelihood of more. That's tough to beat.

Magnus if you read this thoughts on Mitchell as a S? I think when I asked earlier you liked him a lot more as a WR but it sounds like he is headed to be a DB.
January 28th, 2016 at 9:59 AM ^
I think he has better instincts on the offensive side of the ball. The athleticism is there to play defense, but he's just an athlete running around playing "backyard" defense as an outside linebacker.

Agreed. I will take our chances with Harbaugh and top five classes.
Separately, it will be interesting to see how Dantonio does with a top ten class. I hate MSU/Dantonio, but I respect Dantonio's ability as a coach. However, he does rely on a "chip on his shoulder" card quite a bit. I can't imagine the shtick works as well with blue chips who were recruited by all the big boys.
January 28th, 2016 at 10:11 AM ^
MSU will not finish with a top 10 class.
January 28th, 2016 at 10:39 AM ^
Well that solves that problem.
January 28th, 2016 at 10:45 AM ^
It will be close and certainly one of their best classes under Dantonio. Regardless, I like our chances with Harbaugh at the helm with this class as a foundation.
January 28th, 2016 at 11:41 AM ^
well, great, that's the disrespect D'antonio's been looking for...

I agree about the importance of the 2016 class but mostly for a different reason. We need a bunch of these guys to be major contributors in 2017. Having a big class helps, since it gives us more opportunities to find contributors, and getting top recruits obviously helps, too.
January 28th, 2016 at 10:08 AM ^
ESPN said something similar in a recruiting segment.

Your point is well-taken, however, I think it was Hoke who did less with more... Harbaugh would be the converse of that.

It doesn't. But you can believe that if you want.
January 28th, 2016 at 9:51 AM ^
Getting the Westcoast duo would be icing on the cake. Harbaugh is going balls to the wall.

Three sources all saying the same thing!
Big finish!

Not Magnus, but I'll be surprised if Jordan Elliott is playing for school he signs with, if he's playing at all, by the time the 2017 or 2018 season comes around. If Tagaloa is anywhere near the talent that Elliott is, there's good reason to prefer him.
FWIW, Magnus initially rated Elliott a 79 partly for that reason.
January 28th, 2016 at 10:20 AM ^
I'm not Magnus, but I played one on TV.
I would take Boss, just from the fear that Elliott might have stability issues wherever he lands. Committing to four programs is a lot.
