Sam Webb: Michigan trending well for Hill, Asiasi, and Tagaloa

Submitted by 1464 on

I didn't see this posted, but Sam tweeted this info yesterday.  Specifically -

"Another REALLY positive development in #Michigan's courtship of Lavert Hill"

and

"#Michigan gaining momentum with big time West Coast duo too"

Now, I follow Sam on twitter.  I do not have access to his $$$ article.  Because it's only an alcohol problem if you pay to drink it, right?  Thought I'd pass along my non-information seeing as it sounds like really awesome non-information.

Couple this with the fact that Dwumfour believes that Michigan will have the #1 class on signing day, and we may have hit on a few bigtime prospects.

I would rather have Tagaloa, but not because he's a better athlete. I would give Elliott the edge in pure talent. I think Elliott's flip-flopping and questionable effort on the field are enough that I wouldn't really want to mess with him. Also, Michigan initially told Tagaloa that they were looking at him on both sides of the ball, and Tagaloa could be a center or guard if they need him on offense.

I just looked up the 247 profiles for the Cali duo - is it just me ar could both of them easily pass for 35 years old?

I hope they both Go Blue, as they would be two huge pickups.  If we somehow landed Boss and Asiasi (both high 4-stars), along with Gary (#1 recruit in the country), Hill (mid-high four star) and Fuller (mid-high four star), that would be a massive haul, and would probably propel our class to top 5.

And will be announced on signing day. That is why Chase Allen is announcing tomorrow (for some other school), because he has been told of the situation. I totally just made all of that up, but it is probably as accurate as most of the other speculation that you see and hear.

This is probably the only class JH will have that has the attrition and PR nightmare of the past few weeks. Once he solidifies a top five and potentially #1 class, the years to come will see him recruiting mostly four stars and a few five stars each year. We won't have a Weaver/Swenson type that has committed, so there won't be the potential for a decommit.

Going to be a fun ride all.

Well, Nordin is committing at 11 a.m. and Gary is committing at 1 p.m., so your order is off if for no other reason. Also, Asiasi and Tagaloa are West Coast guys, so I doubt they'll be announcing before Nordin unless they get it over with very early at 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. their time.

I predict that Nordin will announce at 11 that he's announcing at 2, but that anncouncement will be just to acknowledge how eager we all are to hear from him and say he's doing a multi-platform Event at 5, by which time no one will care and his scholarship will be gone, so he'll grayshirt at Western.

I keep hearing positive news about Hill, and yet I still have a bad feeling about how that ends up for whatever reason.

That said, it does seem like this might just be a big prelude to a UM commit, so all will be forgiven.
