but I think the notion that he would have been a success here if only he'd been able to get Jeff Castell has been blown up. Even with Casteel, RR's defenses are still generally weak against good teams.

Why not? They're going to enjoy a football game. Sports tourism is actually a hobby people have.
Do you have suggestions on appropriate attire for such an occasion where you are going to enjoy a new CFB atmosphere, hoping for a competitive game and don't care much about the outcome?
I'm sure they'll enjoy themselves and probably hear a "Go Blue!" or two. I think grown men wearing jerseys is more weird, but I don't really care too much about it.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion from the original post. Maybe I'm missing something, and it's the reason for all the above responses that I can't understand. The post simply says 2 of them are going to the game, the connections to UM of both teams, hoping for a good game, and what they're wearing.
