Rivals Headline Re Derrick Green (Good)
The front page headline on Rivals: "Green says Michigan has the edge."
Sam Webb has been saying that we are the team to beat for sometime, but this is the first time that Green has confirmed that status. We can definitely use both him and Deveon Smith to bolster a shaky RB situation (especially if Fitz cannot come back to full strength).

Be it an just attempt at a funny gif or not, posting/referencing Glee (that is from Glee, right?) is never a good idea on a sports blog.

not to mention, Darren Criss is a UM alum and a big UM Football fan
December 10th, 2012 at 10:09 AM ^
I mean, Shane Morris tweets about Glee all the time.

might disagree with you

I guess that explains what this is, but I've always found it especially annoying and seizure-inducing, too, without being funny enough to justify.

You do know the guy on the right is a 2009 Michigan alum right?

Darren Criss FTW.
December 10th, 2012 at 12:32 PM ^
created the show, and even I've never seen an episode.

for this audience while admitting you recognized it.

Nothing personal--and I'm only speaking for myself--but that's probably the single most annoying gif that anyone posts around here.
December 10th, 2012 at 10:06 AM ^
in particular overused that much.
However, I cannot stand incredibly short gifs like this. I have to watch it 12-15 times just to figure out what is going on. Then, after I read the words, I stare at everyone's mouths to see if anyone is actually saying "come at us bro". But of course, the gif loops too quickly and I can't quite be sure. Then I get frustrated and keep watching to try to figure out what is going on....and then I just realized I spent 15 minutes trying to decipher a gif.

Well this is certainly welcome news. I can haz manball?

downvoted for being off-topic by not commenting on Glee or this specific.gif, nor .gif's in general.

He can either play in the spread and shread of Malzahn at AU, the air raid under Jones at UT, or Manball at Michigan.
I think Manball wins the day here.

Kate Upton and peanut butter. My imagination is now getting the best of me.

You obviously were combining to words to make 'jifs" considering what you are gearing up for.
December 10th, 2012 at 11:46 AM ^
Idk if you offended the .gif community, but you really inspired the jiff community.
December 10th, 2012 at 1:33 PM ^
"Hey, your peanut butter ran into my Kate Upton..."
"Well, your Kate Upton ran into my peanut butter."
December 10th, 2012 at 3:12 PM ^
The funny part to me is that my 5 year old calls his 'thing' - "peanut butter". It was so cute I just decided I wasn't going to try too dilligently to correct him.
December 10th, 2012 at 7:53 PM ^
you are in tune with his language as he grows up. I can imagine him as a teen ager saying something to the effect of going out to "make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich." So many possibilities...

A peanut butter and KY jelly sandwich?
December 10th, 2012 at 1:57 PM ^
I think you just supplied motivation. Someone get a Kate Upton/ Jif .gif done, people!
December 10th, 2012 at 10:49 AM ^
as the two concepts joined in my brain. Shutting down and waiting ten seconds before I reboot.

It's spelled GIF, pronounced JIF. Common mistake.
December 10th, 2012 at 11:34 AM ^
Weird. I always thought it was the other way around.
December 10th, 2012 at 12:13 PM ^
Wonder if it's a regional thing - all the IT and computer people I know pronounce it like "gift" without the t. Never once have I heard anyone called it a "jif".
December 10th, 2012 at 12:55 PM ^
It's technically pronounced "jif" because the guy who developed the file format says that's how it should be pronounced.
From Wikipedia:
According to Steve Wilhite, the creator of the GIF format, the original pronunciation deliberately echoes the American peanut butter brand, Jif, and the employees of CompuServe would often say "Choosy developers choose GIF", spoofing this brand's television commercials.
Personally I don't care what he says, it looks like hard-G GIF to me.
December 10th, 2012 at 1:02 PM ^
And Kobe Bryant's dad wanted his son's name to be pronounced "Ko-Bay", like the steak, but no one does.
I think most people pronounce it with a hard G.
December 10th, 2012 at 1:17 PM ^
And no matter what Darius Rucker says he's Hootie, and the rest of the guys in the band are the Blowfish.
December 10th, 2012 at 1:24 PM ^
I take issue with that statement. I hear people make pronunciation mistakes all the time, it doesn't make them correct.
December 10th, 2012 at 1:48 PM ^
Nor does using a collective noun in place of a singular one

December 10th, 2012 at 12:23 PM ^
Apparently the guy who created the format declared that it was pronounced "jif" but the vast majority of the nerd community immediately ignored him. Near as I can tell, pronouncing the hard g is almost universal.

I think the common prediction is that he's mostly a FB and not really an every down RB.
