RichRod Wants a Hard Edge at Today's Practice
You're probably aware that there's a "Hard Edge" message painted inside the Michigan Stadium tunnel just before the "Go Blue" message.
It looks like RichRod (or his designated Twitterer) is looking for some of that spirit as practice begins:
UM_CoachRod Getting geared up for practice #1....Hope to see a lot of Hard Edge
Here we go...
[Edit: This post is targeted at anyone who finds it interesting that RichRod (or one of his subordinates - maybe even the new Director of Football Operations (does he work for RichRod?)) sent out a Tweet (pretty rare event) using a saying that appears inside the Michigan Stadium tunnel and is known to most diehard fans but is probably not universally associated with Michigan football potentially signaling a coach's emphasis during the pre-season camp on this concept (but certainly not Other Chris).]
So seeing it here is sort of redundant, unless you can add something new.
I think he just wants a discussion on it OC.
I would also like our players to practice with a hard edge. Anyone else?
I think the original text was "ALL SOFTIES" but RR changed his philosophy just before practice started. I probably like "HARD EDGE" more.
I don't think TAKE IT LIKE A MAN is that inspiring.
what you're trying to inspire them into.
Perhaps I'm the only one, but I keep reading it as:
TATE IT LIKE A MAN
But it seems to me that lately if I click on a MGoShoe post, it is nothing more than a rehash of something I've already seen somewhere else.
It's something I'm tired of in general, and prehaps it is just bugging me here. I'm just sick of retweets and reporting press releases on blogs without any commentary and the whole cycle of not adding value.
well some of us dont have twitter and some of us dont scour the internet for every little news story so its pretty nice to have things all in one place. Its also nice to see decent discussion on the topics instead of some of the garbage discussions that happen on sites like espn
So stop clicking on them then.
But the sidebar doesn't display authors. I'll be sure to use the MGoBoard link in the future.
Which sadly doesn't display original authors, either. Only diaries do that.
and two more seconds to determine the author.
On behalf of Shoe, and on behalf of those of us who found this interesting, I apologize for those seven seconds. We have credited your account accordingly.
MGoShoe adds a tremendous amount to this website, hence his ridiculous MGoPoint tally.
FWIW, I heard practice was absolutely brutal today.
Sounds good, but heard from who?
but I'm just going to leave it at that.
I can't verify this because I haven't been by Newsterbaan, but apparently they've put up some big tarps around the practice facility so no one can see in. Fort Schembechler is back.
The big tarps are also known as "Rosenbergs" or "Snyders."
But those were up last year as well.
They don't do much when the press is allowed on the other side, though.
We cut up between the practice field and the field hockey field all the time, and around through the Crisler lot. They go up, they stay up. The only places to see the field are the Stadium overpass and the grandstands in Wilpon, as far as I know.

C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!
I appreciate keeping your source secret but was it brutal as in hard or brutal as in bad? I'm assuming hard if your source is a player. If it's a coach, it could go either way.
not as in ugly. Apparently we're looking good early.
...makes me all warm inside.
Are you saying our coaches go both ways?
I keed, I keed.
As in "man, that practice was brutal, those coaches really kicked our asses"
or
"man, these guys look brutal, they couldn't find their ass with both hands"
Brutal as in, "Coach Rodriguez is a man on a mission, that practice was brutal."
Not in the negative sense at all.
By "brutal," do you mean it was just a very tough workout, or that things went terribly?
As someone who doesn't do twitter, I didn't mind the post.
not everyone is on twitter following a person who posts for another person
and so appreciates Big Shoe providing these tidbits in a timely manner in one convenient site.
(Baby Shoe, not possessing a hard edge, has never been allowed in the tunnel.)
...for something new.
I don't have a problem with an occasional post like this, but there's going to be a lot of useless posts if every tweet from RR becomes a new thread.
...on Aug 14 when he emerges from the infractions committee meeting talking about how it was no big deal because everyone is jealous of Michigan. There should be a thread on that. Otherwise, I'm with you.
people are entitled to their opinions.
Nobody! And I mean Nobody NegBangs our Other Chris like that.
Only we are allowed to NegBang our Other Chris like that.
Show some respect, Cretins!!

police a sports forum. Even if this information was known to everyone already (it was new to me), why the hell do you care if it is posted again? If it is redundant to you then just ignore it.
Looks like the comments have a "hard edge" today too.
Save it for the practice field boys.
we're getting tired of negging our board-mates in the pre-season. You post with the same group of guys day in and day out, and things tend to get old quickly. We're looking forward to getting out there during the regular season and taking our frustration out on other schools' boards."

Oh that's just dirty.
