Ricardo Miller is 6'4", 212 lbs now?

According to his mgoblue.com roster profile he is:

http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/miller_ricardo00.html

He must have grown since graduation because the recruiting services all pegged him at 6'0" when he first committed and at 6'1" or 6'2" after his senior season.

This is good news. I don't think we've had a legit 6'4" target at wideout since Braylon left. Roundtree, Hemingway, Stokes and Stonum all fall into the 6'0"-6'2" range.

When we recruited Shawn Conway, I remember thinking it would be good to add a 6'4" wideout to the roster but that it sucks that he won't be playing for at least another year.

I know we have a run-oriented offense, but I don't think we've thrown a fade to the corner of the endzone even once during RR's tenure other than Tate-to-Roundtree during the Spring Game, and I wonder how much of that is because we didn't have the personnel that you'd want to run that play.

On a related note, mgoblue.com has Jeremy Jackson listed at 6'3", 196 lbs., which is also good news.

Hahaha. +1 for making me laugh.

Your post reminded me of the fact that my friend used to date a girl named Desmond Leetch, and we would always make fun of him by saying, "Desmond Leetch? That sounds like the dude I'd pick first in a game of pick up basketball."

"That Desmond Leetch, man. He straight up dunked on me yesterday. Dude can ball."

He would always get so mad. Ahhh, good times.

Michigan has a bunch of tall receivers. I'm under the impression that DJ Williamson is a six-footer, and Jerald Robinson comes in at 6'2 as well. The tight ends are all over 6'4 IIRC. Roy Roundtree (Old Weird Harold) is 6'1 or 6'2. Brady, the former basketball player, is over 6', I imagine.

So much for "speedy midgets." This should make for some interesting downfield matchups, and for some hellified downfield blocking.

I think the OP has bad information.  Look here:

I've never seen the guy listed at less than 6'2".

Also, I agree with another poster here that the heights and weights on MGoBlue generally do not seem to be exaggerated (or understated, as weights famously were during the days of Bo and Mo, when every O-lineman weighed between 297 and 299).

the shortest i've ever seen him listed at was 6'2 and most places had him at 6'3. if he is 6'4 that would explain why he looked so gangly last season at pioneer, he was still growing into his body.

You have to remember that we're talking about teenagers here, and any teenager who is 6’3 was also 6’0 not too long before.

Miller might not have been listed shorter than 6'2" while he was a senior at Pioneer, but he committed to Michigan way back when he was an underclassman at Dr. Phillips, and yes, his Rivals profile actually read 6'0" at one point.

The closest I could find doing a quick Google search was a Seminoles fan page article from 2008 that lists him as 6’1” and his 2009 Army National Combine profile that lists him at 6'1.5"

Ultra athletic Ricardo Miller (6-1, 195) of Orlando Dr. Phillips…

By his senior year, he was 6'2" according to all 3 recruiting services.

Either way, him being 6'4" is welcome news.

Along with many others, I have been following Ricardo's recruiting for a couple years.  He has not been listed at 6'0" at all during that time.  I think you're mis-remembering things.

And whether he's 6'3" or a wink-wink 6'4", he's still a good-sized wide receiver.

Mmmm...don't think so Mangus.

And I think any suggestions to the contrary rest on pretty weak ground conisdering the reference above from 2008 that pegs him at 6'1, the indisputable fact that he had to be 6 foot tall at some point within the last few years and that fact that he committed to Michigan quite a long time ago (first player of this class to commit, way back in 2008 IIRC).

i suspect he will be converted to tight end at some point during his collegiate career. its prob two or so yrs down the road tho, until he can add adequate lbs and muscle. for now most of his contributions will be probably be in  blocking.

im not basing my prediction on any statement to that effect, but rather scouts descriptions of his abilities and what iv seen from his videos: hes obviously got good length and hes been described as a good blocker (albeit against dbs), but the biggest knock on him seems to be his agility, explosion out of cuts, and top-end speed. while his size might suggest that hed be a solid redzone target as an outside reciever, he isnt descrived as a great leaper. i think his abilities are better suited for te (given he adds about 20-30 lbs), and i think there is a greater need at that position as well.

Sounds like the kind of size that could terrorize and victimize a Michigan State defensive back over and over and over again. Kid keeps impressing me, hopefully it shows up on the field this year.
