- Soph. Spike allows Walton to ease into a starting role = Walton either Burke level awesome (sweet) or else Walton around at least 2 years, probably more. Next PG recruit after Walton will have Senior Spike (and possibly Jr Walton) around and will probably learn from the bench as a Frosh.
- Irvin may steal the show here, and then jump after only a year (again, sweet), but LeVert is going to own this starting spot as an upperclassman, again allowing for future SG recruits to come in an learn from the bench. Stauskas splitting between the 2 and 3 will add to this.
- In 2-3 years this will be am upperclassman Stauskas I would think. Even if Irvin is already gone, whoever the next recruit is will be learning from the bench almost undoubtably.
- Donnal will be seasoned here in 2-3 years, with an upperclassman Biefeldt there as well. More learning from the bench here for whoever comes in next.
- In 2 years this will be a senior Horford and junior Bielfeldt with Freshman Doyle learning from the bench probably. In 3 years the next Big recruit will be learning behind Doyle.
- Dominant starting pitching from Fister.
- A game opponent (and my other favorite team) making a game of it early.
- Clutch AJax
- Clutch Miggy
- Even a little Papa Grande to top it off.

I could be that these guys are using the KS campaign to demonstrate a viable market for their product, so as to be able to secure investment funding down the line. Everyone can knock em' for having a dream, but you have to respect their enthusiasm at least. I have hated the EA games for so long... 20$ seems like a good deal. And I don't even own a PS or XBox. |

Already we have Walton stepping in to a situation where Spike may very well start for the first third of the season. This means that Walton is less likely to track to the NBA after only one year. In this light, looking at each position in 2-3 years: Of course any position may have a super-recruit come in and steal the show. If this happens with seasoned veterans as listed above then coming off the bench, the wild swings we saw these past seasons will be smoothed out considerably. Eventually I think the program will reach a steady-state (of excellence) under Beilein, hopefully in time for him to hand the reigns off to a protege. |

Nice when the few and far between look like that. It had a little of everything: Can't wait to move back to Michigan in June and catch the rest of this season on the regular! |

| 4 weeks 1 day ago | I made it to one game in the |
I made it to one game in the last two years, NW this past year. 25 yard line up near the top and had a great time (as everyone who stayed for the end did). The student section for that game was a disgrace; it was a beautiful day and the student section was maybe half full to be generous at kickoff, and maybe 2/3 full by the end of the 1st quarter. When I was on campus, the section was full every game. People would crowd-surf around and the marshmallow wars were epic. Someone was playing the MSU game on a boombox one game, and that boombox got surfed right up and over the wall. These days the box would have to stop half-way up because no one would be there to surf it the rest of the way. Student-Fans need this to be reminded of what a blessing the games are for them. It would be best if students had to buy tickets the day of and get there in time to get a seat IMO.

...that all ESPN panelists predict a Louisville win.
Eamonn Brennan: Louisville. Speaking of criminally underrated: While the Cardinals' defense gets all the pub -- and rightfully so, since it's been the best in the country all season -- Louisville's offense has been awfully for months now, Saturday's first half against Wichita State notwithstanding. Combine that offense and a just-solid Michigan defense, and throw in the handful of turnovers and run-outs the Cardinals should get at key spots, and I think Louisville wins a close game. Emphasis on close. Andy Katz:There is no manifest destiny here. This is more about the more complete, experienced team. Louisville avoided a serious downturn this season. Sure, the Cards lost three in a row but they were all close games and to quality teams. Michigan was in the Big Ten grind but there were some games when the Wolverines were lost. The more consistent team wins here. Myron Medcalf: I'm going with Louisville because of its experience, talent and defense. The Cardinals haven't lost since early February for a reason. They're so strong defensively and they're versatile enough on offense to win games even when they're missing shots (see Saturday's win over Wichita State). They just figure it out, one way or the other. Louisville will win this one. Dana O'Neil: Louisville wins. The Cardinals looked tentative and passive against Wichita State but I believe that, as much as they wouldn't admit it, that was the result from an emotional and chaotic week dealing with Kevin Ware's injury. I expect Louisville to be more like itself in this title game, and by that I mean more like the best team in the nation. The Cards are talented, experienced and hungry, not to mention ridiculously good on defense. Add that up and you've got yourself a national champion. Robbi Pickeral: Got to go with Louisville. The Cardinals have the defense, the inspiration (Kevin Ware), and a coach that's looking to make history by winning a national title with two different teams. Oh, and they haven't lost since Feb. 9 (and that was in five overtimes). ...and of course I can't get back to the ESPN article to link to it because their site is down. |
| 6 weeks 3 days ago | Triche's upward momentum... |
...brought Morgan off his feet and sideways a little I think, making it appear that he might be sliding sideways and airborne. When it happened live I thought charge immediately, and Triche seems to admit it was a bad idea in the article. I could see the refs swallowing their wistle there, in which case Caris had the rebound nicely secured... I guess all fans have to blame their sorrows on something.
