OT: Slightly Early Holiday Weekend Whatcha Doing/Posbang Thread

Submitted by MaizeMN on
I'll be getting off work at noon today and starting the holiday weekend early. So, I thought we should get the festivities started with a bang. Also, curious what my fellow MGoBloggers have on tap (and grill) for the weekend. We're not traveling, but I do plan to put the grill through a serious workout. Margarita chicken breasts, peppercorn ribeyes and venison kabobs are on the menu, along with the traditional burgers, brats and dogs. What is everyone else up to? Feel free to share your plans, menus, libations and holiday traditions with the rest of us. And don't forget to bang! Most importantly, thanks and prayers for the brave men and women that gave their lives in service to our country. God bless and Go Blue.

maybe an adult beverage or two, wedding reception for a good friend; should be a good weekend.

Bang away!

I took Friday off to do a few things around the house, and although that doesn't sound like much of a break, things have been piling up and it is just the distraction I need at the moment. There will also be hamburgers and hot dogs at various points throughout the weekend as well, and beer and other drinkables. I plan to spend at least a few hours sober from Friday to Monday, but I make few guarantees after that.

Getting the garden going is my priority this weekend. I might get around to changing the brake pads on my car too. Otherwise I'll be grilling, chilling, smoking, and drinking. Have a great weekend everyone.

I'm off tomorrow, and I will be cycling to and from our cottage, floating at the cottage and drinking at the cottage.  I can't wait.  There aren't many better places on Earth than Michigan in the summer time.

Working through Sunday, not flying to Toledo until Monday, so I'm extending my weekend through Tuesday. I've been thinking of focusing on the clear liquors this time, just to go with a sort of a theme...gin, vodka, that sort of thing...I'll be dining out instead of grilling.  I'm not sure what makes for an appropriate place to dine out on Memorial Day, or what's even open in Toledo Monday...Using Lyft so I can drink with impunity...

Thanks in advance for any advice / bang.

Skipping out of work early today, headed up to the cabin with the family.

Probably do some mushroom hunting, bass and bluegill fishing on the lake, maybe some trout fishing on the Au Sable if I can squeeze it in

And, of course fires and brews every night

Off work tomorrow for Carb Day. My buddy flies in from Phoenix every year and we party it up together. Have a group of 10 going to the race on Sunday.

Many adult beverages shall be had. Grilling has to be easy due to intoxication levels, so it will be burgers and dogs. I'll probably make jerk chicken for the race.

Vroom vroom party starters!

Heading to my 43rd consecutive Indy 500.  The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.  Gonna be freaking ... no wait, fucking HOT.   Going to have an extra cooler just for ice to keep those cold ones, cold.   Just an incredible day ... then home Sunday night with have an enjoyable round of golf on Monday.  Can't wait !

I'm a bit crazy when it comes to heat, so I actually like the forecast this weekend. I know that very few would agree with me.

If this is your 43rd consecutive, then you have been to hotter than what we are getting on Sunday!

Lots of food, watch some hoops, watch some movies, hang out with some family, play some video games and unfortunately continue to pick up yard waste that keeps blowing into my yard because my neighbor is a lazy slob who doesn’t want to rake his yard.... and yeah he’s the kinda guy who leaves his Christmas lights up all year...

I'll hit a golf ball or two, start a couple of campfires and hang out by the like- looks like it's going to be a hot weekend!

not to lose my mind.

Rocky times in the ijohnb household.  Transitions from summer to winter and back again always seem to pose some issues for some reasons.  It has been like a scratching record for the last couple of weeks.

Even more so this season.  People get all angry at him this season and then he gets all pissy back to make it shouting match after shouting match.  He's not as bad as Alex, Courtney, and Marcus, though, IMO  .  Those 3 are the worst.

Also, I will add I'll be watching the Champions final.  I like Ronaldo but go Liverpool!

not going to watch Season 2.  I thought that the content in the Season 1 finale was exploitive and distasteful.  Just because you can show that doesn't mean that you should nor that there is any artistic merit in doing so (and making the audience wait 13 episodes for the "chance" to see it).

From what I have read, the finale of season 2 tries to "out-do" season 1 and is getting hammered by critics.

I am 8 episodes through and shit is starting to hit the fan I will say and it's getting pretty wild.     Curious what happens at the end...

The new lawyer that works with Clay's mom is hot as hell.

Driving down to Youngstown with the wife kids later today to hang out with the in-laws. Not a fan of the state or that city at all, but family time is family time.

Also gonna spend tomorrow in Pittsburgh and take the kids to the Carnegie Natural History museum...and will try to sneak in a meal at Primanti Bros if they let me. I never really liked Pittsburgh before, but over the past year or so, I have a new appreciation for really how cool of a city it's becoming.

Happy memorial day weekend, everyone!

Heading to Topsail Beach in North Carolina.  That place is our family's jam for this holiday weekend.  Wishing everyone a fun and safe holiday weekend.
