QB Joe Milton ('18) Has a RIDICULOUS Arm

Submitted by EastCoast Esq. on

It is looking more and more likely that Milton will be the top-rated QB in our 2018 class. Wiltfong has more information on the situation here ($):

After seeing his HUDL video (below), this is decidedly a good thing. Check the play that begins at the 1:08 mark. That kind of arm strength is rare.

EDIT: Also 5:15. He hits a WR on his back shoulder from 45 yards out.

Many of his throws early on are after it looks like he's going to take off running.  He's right up to the line of scrimmage.  That shows that his eyes are constantly downfield.  If he starts running bootlegs with regularity too, we'll have a real good weapon on our hands.

As long as he can develop the habit to keep both hands on the ball, he has that unique awareness downfield while scrambling that Wilton does. The big difference, though, is that Milton can throw the ball 55 yards in the air ON THE RUN. With his frame and athleticism, as well as the growth of our influence in Florida, this would be a great get, and a surprising one given UF's previous stature with him.

He'd give Cordell Stewart a run for his money right now. Joe! You're going to be offered tons of money and women and cars...do the right thing, come to Michigan! You will be involved in a top notch program with top notch coaching and teammates. You won't regret it, Go Blue!

You're joking, right? Heck, even coach Harbaugh told him to keep his head on right, I read somewhere. No, it is not too soon; if anything it may be a tad late to start getting advice like this from somewhere, hopefully he's had a good upbringing and makes a sound decision.

No, I'm over that, the pain of the loss has subsided. No, I've moved on to last year in Columbus when it comes to pain, but for those of you still feeling the 'bomb' I sincerely apologize. It was thoughtless of me.

I disagree. Milton has better legs. He has all the physical tools to be an elite dual-threat, but he isn't highly ranked because he is INCREDIBLY raw.

Peters has a much higher floor, though.

But tap the brakes on using arm strength as a proxy for quarterbacking ability.

Around here that's known as the "Shane Morris Rule" served with a side of "Hoke/Borges Caveats Apply."

In other parts of the country, it is known as the "Jeff George Rule," "JaMarcus Russell Rule," "Ryan Leaf Rule," etc.
