well at least 1, but perhaps also the FG (not so clear cut to me).

to be equally fair William Wagner was pretty awesome all season and last season before he got hurt.  And - there were numerous times including the Washington game in the national title where he had snapped a beautiful ball and was one of the first guys down on coverage.

OSU: "We've paid $30 million to buy the best players in the portal this year. We need to win now!"

UM: "We got a long snapper from the FCS. We're playing the long game..."

It's possible he was under the radar in HS coming from Massachusetts. More likely, he just wanted to transfer for academic/environmental reasons.

Michigan would take nearly anyone as a walk on who played as a Freshman at reasonable collegiate level. Most long snappers are walk ons who couldn't gain enough size to play OL or have TE size but not the athleticism. It's zero risk and only upside to take one who played at Holy Cross. I bet Michigan spent all of 5 minutes evaluating film and it was as simple as "if you get admitted, we would love to have you walk on." I hope I'm wrong and there was something that really popped.

C'mon. Are you sure this is not a fake, AI generated commitment?

Dan Rosenberg from Holy Cross?

I will be suspicious if our next commitment from the portal is Hymie Schwartz from Loyola!

Years ago i was an exchange student in south America.  I get there, first day for dinner they serve borscht, I'm like, whatever, lots of people serve borscht.  Couple of days later, its Friday, and they get a loaf of bread for dinner that resembles challah.  I've got as jewy a name as they come, so I figure, notwithstanding that I can't speak really their language and they cant really speak mine, we need to have a conversation, they obviously think I need special Jew food but they don't need to worry about me, I'm happy with bacon.

Conversation goes something like this:

"Is OK, no need jew food"

"Oh no, we jew too!"

"You jew?!" (points at host family's son) "His name Christian!"

"Yes!  No one know!"

FYI, Rosenberg is not necessarily a Jewish name.  Alfred Rosenberg was one of Hitler's most notorious henchmen,  in charge of the occupation of the Eastern European countries.   He was charged as a war criminal,  tried and convicted at Nuremberg, and executed in 1946.

That said, I suspect that Dan Rosenberg is probably Jewish. Shalom.

Before the B1G Championshp, met several of Wagner's family members at a bar across the street.  Told them that I'm rooting for him, but that I hope I never notice his performance.  During the Rose Bowl, my son and I looked at each other and said "Wagner!"

I remember the angst and gnashing of teeth in the past when people would compare our stars to thars in SEC and OSU teams. Then Michigan beat OSU three in a row and just won a national championship. And we can appreciate the coaches landing a player who fits our needs.

Here's to OSU spending all the money in the world to stand on third base.

William Wagner is out of eligibility, and so may Greg Tarr.  Even if GT has another year, we need two LS.  Witness WW getting hurt during 2022 and GT had to fill in.
