OT: Yearly MGoAvatar Roll Call
As noted by LSA, the end of the OT period is on the horizon and frankly I've never been so ambivalent towards the beginning of the CFB season. I have no idea what to expect and BPONE-induced drinking seems likely going into Harbaugh's... --checks notes-- 7th year? We'll cheer, we'll cry and we might even get laid if that waitress at Shenanigans stops spurning my advances. All hope is not lost!
With that said, indulge the MGoWorld and let us know about your goofy, likely Michigan-themed avatar and why it "checks out".
I'll go first: Mine is David Wooderson and the gang from the film Dazed and Confused standing outside the Emporium. If you haven't seen the movie, it's a coming of age film based around the hijinks following the last day of school in a small (I believe Texas) town. Fun film and good soundtrack with the classic quotes you've all heard before. My avatar has no connection to my username or UM sports and just a random picture honestly.

Just finished listening to McConaughey's "Greenlights". It was interesting to hear some of the story behind Wooderson.

I'll have to seek it out. It always seemed like most characters from D&C were inspired by actual people. It's a Richard Linklater film and feel he has a knack for capturing the portrayal of youth in the 70's & 80's.

Greenlights is one of the better audiobooks I've listened to. it's like you're sitting side by side with him at a bar and he's just telling stories for a few hours.

Also true story: my son held hands with Kate Upton. And Justin Verlander. (He teaches trapeze, and they came together to take a class several years ago, so my son got to instruct and catch them.)

Mine is Rainbow Dash, but dressed as a Shadowbolt. It encapsulates how I see my role here honestly, looking down from somewhere, ready to pounce on a cloud and smite someone with a lightning bolt.
.....or it could be that I thought it looked kind of goofy and neat, which is also like me, but without the darker undertone of what I wrote above.

As an engineer, I'm sure he could design many wonderful things upon which to bang to create interesting sounds of varying wavelength. Those sounds could then be combined with other sounds of complimentary wavelength in unique and varying rhythms so as to produce a product of pure utility that also makes way for other men and women of a certain hue to improve upon that work, advancing society as a result.

Are you my brother? He graduated from Michigan in 1980 with an engineering degree.
Come to think of it, he may have graduated in 1981. It took a bit longer than the traditionally alloted amount of time.

Mine is the monument of the Iron Brigade, one of the most famous units in the Union Army. One of its regiments, the 24th Michigan, contained my great X 4 grandfather Sam, who fought and was wounded at Gettysburg in 1863.
So while my avatar doesn't really have a UM connection, it definitely has a Michigan one (and also explains my MGoBlog name.)

Reminds me of my favorite GIF. The one where deveon follows a half dozen players who all have crushing blocks escorting him to the end zone against Sparty. He finishes off the play by lowering his shoulder and crushing the last defender while crossing the goal line. I thought that was what it was going to be like forever.
