OT-For what else do you have an EUTM?
My 11 year old daughter has a golf tournament today. She is getting ridiculously good. In some of her tournaments she is allowed to have a caddy, and in some she has to carry her own bag. I so often have to work and miss her rounds, but today I get to caddy for her, and see every shot. It's 3:30 in the morning, and I can't sleep because I'm so excited! I've cleaned her clubs, been over every hole online, and have her bag filled with balls, tees, water, ball markers, divot repair, band aids, range finder, towels, granola, etc.. My favorite thing in the world is to watch her stick a 9 iron to 6 feet from 125 out! What do you attack with an Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind?
It's open 24/7 and the tax advantages are better than stocks.
Imperialists.
My favorite thing is when she shakes me off a 7, and asks for the 8. I sit and wonder at how she became so self sufficient!
though i must confess that occasionally the exact order of those things gets jumbled.
and OP, very cool that you are so tuned into having a special day with your obviously very talented daughter. those are the days that stick in your memory, and hers.
Finally 5:30 now, so I can start getting ready without my wife thinking I'm too, too, too much of a lunatic!
But you may be a slight lunatic. ;) Get some sleep, and don't turn into a crazy sports parent. And good luck to your daughter! She'll do great, even if she has some bad shots.
you can't start a whole thread on this, waking up at 0330 hrs, and then not tell us how it turned out.
dish!
on all counts. +1 sir.
happy life.... :-)
First and foremost, good luck to your duaghter, OP - hopefully, she emerges victorious today.
As for myself, two of the things that would be on my own EUTM list are probably good cuisine and good beer. I do virtually all of the cooking at home and I share my father's passion for good food, making nice meals with fresh ingredients even in a day and age where I could do simpler things for convenience.
EUTM for good beer, which I can finally drink again in a limited capacity, is something I've been cultivating since before I could legally drink, and again, I have my father to thank for never allowing Bud or Miller of any variety in the house. Yes, beer snob, rabble rabble....
They claim that every day in the US that three breweries open and one closes. I think that just means that I have to have at least two beers... correction, two GOOD beers, every day.
I've lived in TC about 15 years now, and since we've moved up we've seen a bunch come and go. But mainly we've seen them open.
I remember hearing an archived NPR interview talking about beer in Europe, and they kept saying that it was so much better there than here because each town had its own brewery.
I can see how each town would have its own distinct thing; but when I listened to it TC had just gotten up to like 6 brew pubs within a 20 mile radius of my house. I think we're at 8 now.
Life is good.
got me interested in a brew from Colorado (can't remember the name now, damnit) that is infused with ginger.
I thought I'd hate it.
Instead, its like the ultimate hot weather beer for me. (I'd say boat beer, but I stopped drinking on the boat years ago. I'm almost always the driver).

Who wants to break it to Hatter that he's been doing lines of baby powder?
is more likely.
you'd get a bit of a rush out of that too....
when you just can't push those babies out!
I've been playing since I was 14. 50 now. Got good at, but not tourney good.
Plus, what else do you get up early in the morning for besides fishing?
I hope she stays with it for a long time.
Can you say, M scholarship?
And the M course is amazing.

Good luck to her!
