OT: Tool's Drummer sports Novak Jersey

Submitted by Willhouse on

According to sources, Tool's drummer Danny Carey sported a Zack Novak jersey while performing with the band in Toledo on Tuesday. Nice to see Tool supporting the Michigan basketball team! and in Ohio nonetheless! People on toolshed.down.net are commenting on this.

Also, according to a paywalled Scout.com article (I do not have membership), Novak tweeted to Danny Carey thanking him for donning his jersey.

Anyone have pictures or links?

Agreed. They have been working on it for quite some time, but no concrete details have been leaked. Its only been what...six years since 10K Days?

Also...Isis posted that they would be releasing something soon. I am sure it won't be new material, but still very cool. I miss those guys.

Good to know.  I'm disappointed that I really got into them right around the time they broke up, so I'll never be able to see them live.  And yep, six years since the last TOOL album, and I fear their next one will be their last.  Those guys are getting old.

Yeah, same with me. I really got into them right before their last tour. And I almost drove 5 hours to see them open for the Melvins on that tour, but decided against it, thinking "these doods tour constantly, I'll get another chance."

Two weeks later, they announced their breakup and that this was their last tour.

Moral of the story: Always drive 5 hours for a concert if that is your first instinct.

I've seen them 3 or 4 times. Danny Carey typically sports a KU jersey or sometimes a Lakers one as he is from Kansas and now lives in LA. He's a huge hoops fan and that is quite an honor for Mr. Novak, IMHO.

but getting pics will be difficult.  Tool is pretty serious about their no pics policy.  I saw them from the front row (center) at Red Rocks here in Denver and the security guys were pretty busy that night.

I was at the show and didnt even realize it. To be fair, it was dark and I was in the nosebleeds on the opposite side of the arena, but that's awesome. He's one of the best drummers in the world and it was a great show.
