Unbelievable. Don't know what to say. We have to pull this game out.

This is a microcosm of the last 3 years of Leyland's career. He messes with shit that oughtn't be messed with, and he leaves things alone that are begging to be changed. A t-ball coach could've seen that coming.
October 13th, 2012 at 11:46 PM ^
If the Tigers go on and blow this game these are the type of games that absolutely CRUSH a team's spirit. You have it won and then some worthless fucking idiot absolutely hands them a gift.
I know I feel dong punched....I can only imagine how the players feel right now. But Valverde's probably cracking open a cold one and getting something to eat right now. His work if finished...he's fucked up yet another game and somebody else's hard work.

Leyland should be fired on the spot for malpractice.
October 13th, 2012 at 11:46 PM ^
only your "closer." "Yes, he's pitching terribly today, but he's my 'closer.'" What a stupid creation.

October 13th, 2012 at 11:49 PM ^
is there any chance we win this game?
October 13th, 2012 at 11:55 PM ^
I'm not liking the chances. The team looked pretty deflated after Valverde shit himself on the mound...
October 13th, 2012 at 11:50 PM ^
it sucks trying to be a control-freak-armchair-manager-who-nobody-listens-to sports fan
October 13th, 2012 at 11:50 PM ^
I hear that Valverde's new best friend, Scott Boras, is on suicide watch.
October 13th, 2012 at 11:52 PM ^
More like assclown on the mound.
October 13th, 2012 at 11:52 PM ^
and yet people continue to give him such a long leash... the retort is always, "well the Tigers had only made the playoffs once since '84 before leyland, now they've been three times."
Sorry, but we have Dave Dombrowski and Illitch's wallet to thank for that, not leyland...
October 13th, 2012 at 11:54 PM ^
Yeah just imagine what they could do with just a little better manager.

I know we don't do nicknames here, but since he is making millions of dollars to blow saves in the playoffs, am I allowed to call him "Val-merde" just once? I promise I won't do it again, at least here.
October 13th, 2012 at 11:55 PM ^
he went!

Just pitched an inning without giving up 4 runs. What an amazing accomplishment.

Leyland would pinch hit Raburn for Cabrera if he wasn't hurt.

Nice job TBS announcers. Let's talk about how Austin is striking out less and what does he do.
