What a big inning for the kid. Great job by him keeping this game going.
OT: Tigers-Yankees Game 1
in yankee stadium. Maybe his first playoff W as well?
Tiger fans, it could be worse:
Good old Joe Table. I forgot about that guy.
Time for the big boys to step up! Lets go Cabby
Let's go Delmon, do yo thang
Delmon but he was a demon there!
Yeah Delmon Young!!!!
Yes!!!! Way to go Delmon!!! Good thing Valverde can't come in again!
Leave in Smyly, or bring in Al? Could be an audition for the permanent spot...
Based on experience I'd probably give it to Dotel from here on out.
get emotionally invested in this again. i just can't let myself do it
All right, now what, bullpen wise? Leave Smyly in? (I think so.) Who do we warm up just in case, Al-Al? Maybe Porcello?
Smyly for Chavez and Al-Al against Swish and Gardner?
Yes - I like your thinking here.
I'll buy it but I'm thinking more along the lines of Smyly as long as he's getting outs, with a quick hook to Al if/when he gets in trouble.
If Drew gets an easy out I'd ride with him until he put a runner on base.
Swisher - that stinking Buckeye - missed it! Sweet!
Chances leyland blows delmon after this game...
I would feel bad if Jeter is realy hurt here. He's a class player.
Ooooooo....Jeter does not look all right.
"He's fine...oh maybe not"
Sad to see Jeter hurt...
wow that looked bad..
Oh boy please more runs!
Yes!! MOAR runs!!
The Yanks had some bad fielding this inning.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but his left foot was the one that was already bothering him?
this looked like a knee problem though..
I think it's the ankle. He torqued it a bit making that play--might not be much on a healthy ankle, but that can seriously aggravate one that's already hurt.
Wasn't super-hard, though, he may be back for the rest of the series. Keep in mind that he is fatigued after a 12-inning game.
He fouled a ball off of his left foot and at times looked like he had difficulty running the bases, except when he tripled against O's on Wednesday and then scored from first on a double Friday! I think he was just milking it....now it appears he has a legit injury to play with?
That Yankee fan needs to be gif'd
Hate to be that guy, but does anyone have a stream link?
first row isnt working.
Is Leyland petitioning MLB to let him use Valverde twice in one game? You know he'd love to get him right back on that horse.
Dont even mention the possibility. You know if he thought it would work he would be whispering sweet nothings to Bud Selig.
Upside here: We're blowing through the entire Yankee bullpen, which they may need tomorrow with Koroda on three days rest.
Wouldn't be surprised if the game is pretty high-scoring tomorrow, regardless of result here.
That and a win would be double-upside.
I was thinking the same thing when the announcers mentioned they were on their 7th pitcher. I figured, either let's win this or let's take this thing 20 innings.
Alright guys 3 outs to go. Again...
Here we go. Don't blow it again.
If they can't close this out now I'm not sure if it's meant to be...
