OT: Little Caesars Hot n' Ready: Delicious pizza with great value? Or low class garbage?

Submitted by Photogenic on

On a whim tonight, I decided to pick up a Hot n Ready pizza. Not a frequent pizza eater, but was very hungry and wanted something tasty right away. I have to say, for the price it's actually pretty decent pizza. I used to make fun of it in the past, but in a world where you can't even get lunch for under $8, they've certainly converted me.

I thought I'd pose this question to the MGoBlogosphere. Is this good value pizza? Or just rubbish?

Anyone who loves on little caesars has absolutely no taste for pizza in my book.

Want real pizza in Michigan?

Square:

Buddy's (on Conant.  the other locations are ok, but not great)

Jet's (some locations better than others.  best is the original on 14 mile off Ryan)

Round:

Vince's (Springwells)

Suppino's (Eastern Market)

It's great when they don't put a shitload of cornmeal on the bottom of it. Then it's just like eating sandpaper.

NY Wolverines = aghast...and yell at us to call it pie.  Michigander Wolverines = It's allright.

For $5 what can you expect - it fills you up, tastes decent going down, ,and doesnt make you feel too good a few hrs later.

I had Little ceasar's for the first time approx 45 years ago.  It was crap then.  Even as a kid I could tell that.  Of course my only point of comparison back then was pizza from a place called Sorrento's, which was really good.  I've had LC recently and it's not bad, certainly better than what I remember from my first experience.

I actually just picked up a Hot'n'Ready last weekend, and it was goddamned amazing. I don't know if I can expect any kind of consistency in quality, but last weekend it was fucking perfect.

As Shutdown Fullcast explained a few weeks ago. It's very honest in its advertising: it is hot and ready, but that doesn't mean they promise it tastes good nor cooked.

Little Caesars has two things going for it: it's cheap, and it finances the tigers and the wings.  The pizza is pretty crappy IMO, and I pretty much only eat it if it's the only option available.   But that said, for $5, a whole pizza is a lot of food, even if it is crappy.

Little Caesar's is not real pizza but if you are asking whether $8 Texas toast with pepperoni on it is a good deal, some might agree.

I have nothing against Little Caesars and enjoy a Hot-N-Ready for what it is, but you would seriously enjoy a free Hot-N-Ready more than a free Lou Malnati's pie?

I'm not even sure what to say about that, unless your last name is Ilitch (if it is, please retire 91 and give Holland a pat on the back for re-signing Nyquist).

Awful. Cardboard crust and disgusting sauce I can't choke down. The deep dish crust is better, but still covered in the worst sauce known to msn.

Old proverb-like substance says you can have a product three ways: good, fast, or cheap, but you can only get two of the three.  Little Caesar's is the only pizza place where you can get fast and cheap.  I don't care if it's not gourmet.  It's still a hell of a deal.
