Orange Bowl Open Thread

Tajh Boyd vs Braxton Miller.  Lots of offense expected.

Let's hope Clemson's offense shows up for their bowl game this year.

Line: OSU -2.5

Over/Under: 71.5

Edit:

2014 Orange Bowl final score

Clemson: 40

Ohio:  35

Big night for Clemson offense

Sammy Watkins. 16 receptions for 227 yards (an Orange Bowl and Clemson record) and two touchdowns. What a beast!

Tajh Boyd also set an Orange Bowl record with 486 total yards.

I heard this was the first time Ohio lost when they score 35+ points.  (insert sad panda here)

recognized late hit as the right call.

He then stated he did not understand how OSU gets the ball. Specifically said "I have never seen anything like this before"

Apparently the play was over when the hit occurred?  Seems absolutely illogical to me, but I guess the idea is that Clemson was short before the late hit occurred.

He's still a terrible terrible coach. That doesn't have anything to do with Michigan's record. His teams out talent people but can't overcome their boneheaded mistakes when pure talent isn't enough. He or his staff seem like they can recruit like crazy though.

A smart coach and shitty players?

Do you know how far back you have to go to find Michigan with that good of a record over a 3 year span?

1997, 1998, 1999

Call him a bonehead if you want. We haven't had 3 seasons like Clemson has had in 15-17 years.

Think about that before you knock him.

Same thing with people and David Shaw in the Rose Bowl thread.

They play in the ACC where FSU is dominant this year but in the past few years Clemson should have been dominant. Having watched them the few times that I have (all losses) they've been physically more talented but can never put it all together. Don't know what to tell you man when your in the talent rich South you should be able to recruit well at that point it's coaching and I don't think he's that good at that aspect.

This year they beat Georgia.

And the ACC is no worse than the B1G.

There can't be more than 4-5 coaches who have a better record than Sweeney over the last few years.

You may not like him, he may do stupid dances after win, but the man can clearly coach. I don't like Les Miles, I think the man is an idiot. But clearly he can coach.

Again, you have no argument for 31-6.

The ACC is not the Mountain West, MAC or Sun Belt.

Uh, whatever man you seem like you want to argue just for the sake of argument. You win Dabo Swinney is one of the 10 best coaches in America because his record in the overwhelmingly difficult ACC proves it so! Sounds idiotic to me but congrats.

Damn Ohio.  Good game going.  Clemson for the most part has outplayed them but Ohio was responded by making plays of their own.  Glad to see an extra point made!

Anyone hear about this rumor of Lattimore and Smith committing to Michigan tomorrow?

Seems to be very far fetched, but if that were to happen...WOWZERS.

Who've been considered OSU locks forever. They're also considered Kentucky and a couple of other schools. Both are 4 star kids.

OSU may be getting full in their recruiting class and Glenville's coach is Ted Ginn Sr., he's known to "place" his players. If they can't go to OSU, Ginn Sr. likes Hoke so it's not out of the question that he'd push them to Hoke. Especially considering the success of Frank Clark (a Glenville kid). Willie Henry went there too and he had some success this year.

In short, this is simply a BIG internet rumor, but if by some chance it happened, it would be pretty damn big for Michigan to get two guys from Glenville that OSU did have interest in. Also two highly rated guys to make up for the sting of some recent losses in recruiting.
