Best of luck to him. I still remember that catch he had behind the D-backs head in a practice--hard to believe he's fallen so far from the #47 WR in the country.

Hopefully he finally breaks out but I have zero confidence that Frosty has any sense of how to run a winning football team.

Scott Frost took a team with 0 wins to undefeated in 2 years and beat Auburn in the Sugar Bowl on his way out the door.  I think he knows a little something about coaching a winning football team.  The patience level of people on these boards is comical.

He couldn't win in the Big Ten with an injured true frosh at QB and no talent on the roster.  Fire him he sucks.

Actually, 247 had him as the #47 overall player and #7 WR.  I find it interesting that you use the term "fallen so far" instead of calling it a complete whiff by the recruiting services.  Obviously either (or both) can be true, but the deference given to rankings is interesting to me.  Martin was a late riser that did perform well on the field as a senior but got most of his rankings boosts from camps and 7 on 7.  I recall his MGo recruiting profile noted that he was "actually running real routes" instead of the 10 false step juking (fake?) routes you see a lot on camp 1 on 1's.  Maybe that means routes are easier to teach than athleticism...but he also supposedly was solid there, mid 4.5 40 and lots of notes on how great his hands were.

Good luck to him.  I think he'll clearly be one of Nebraska's better WRs right out of the box.  But, considering this is his third chance and he wasn't successful enough to get on the field in his first two chances, I have my doubts...

Not that bad of a situation.  He could easily win the Big Ten West... if NW can do it anyone can.  Get lucky in the Big Ten Championship game?  Maybe - crazy things happen in football.  Could he actually build a perennial power?  Not likely, but possible... who would've expected Clemson to be a serious player 10+ years ago?  We all know *how* Clemson did it, of course... and Nebraska could do the same in theory.

Besides, Mike Riley left their fanbases with somewhat modest expectations for the next guy... sound familiar?

He should try to play for all* of the Big Ten teams in his career. That would be neat

*Rutgers, Maryland and Illinois don’t count
