will be michigan's highest pick in a while
Ohio State Game Snowflakes Thread
Thomas did get fouled there, just by THJ on the elbow. Burke did nothing. Refs were guessing after Thomas's airball.
When we were down there, I hope they feel the burn.

Very happy. Everything about Vitale annoyed me on this game. To the end, his hypocrisy couldn't ruin a great win
The burke isos to end the half is beginning to feel like vincent smith up the middle
If you don't like Michigan you are a peasant
well, it did work vs. IU - just sayin'

Great game but man, we need Jordan Morgan back ASAP. Our interior D and defensive rebounding are not the same without him. Ohio seemed to rebound every one of its misses over the last 10 minutes of regulation.
Ironically, the sort of shot that drove many (including me) crazy as the last shot of regular time was the only field goal of overtime. I have much less of a no...no...no... impulse with Trey, though, because he can hit it.
We still need to get Larry Brown in here in the off-season to give pointers on inbound pass plays. That guy could practically guarantee an easy basket after a timeout. Michigan? Not so much.

McGary with the hustle all through overtime getting offensive rebounds and key defensive stops. Same goes for Burke and Hardaway the last two posessions.
Burke with 16 points 8 assists and 2 turnovers
Apparently that means Craft destroyed him or something from what I was reading.

The average points he needs to average to finsh with at least 17 points and 7 or more assists per game to be the first player since Magic to do that...as we get reminded almost as much as we are reminded that Stauskus "isn't just a spot up shooter."
If we would have lost tonight, I don't think we win the Big Ten.
How sweet that Burke beats Craft on the last two defensive plays. Take that BITCH!

I loooooooooooved that. Mr I'm So Fucking Good At Defense got a couple lessons himself.

We need out interior D to improve before MSU or we're not coming out of there with a win
Sometimes. Defensive rebounding needs some work, too - c'mon boys, put a body on someone! Overall toughness - like Beilein said - we don't always drive to the basket with authority. We get blocked a lot on penetration. If you go in there tough, you get the foul more often. Trying to finess it all the time leads to a lot of rejection...
Wow, he shot us back into the game. 2 bigs came up with a few stops and Burke with the strip, block sequence after losing the ball. HUGE!
...I've felt our defense is underrated. I've changed my mind. Great game. Ohio is a tough matchup for us, and OSU mostly played out of their mind. But we have got to play tougher on the D end. We can't just wait for the O to bail us out.

Is this where the pos bang is? Hopslam says... Thad Matta IS a goblin. Just like that guys name says. Hopslam!! I will miss you.
Coach Hoke once told me that a moral victory is still a (expletive deleted) loss.

~I can put you in Queens on the night of the hijacking.
~Really? I live in Queens. Did you put that together yourself, Einstein?
after losing an emotional game 3 nights ago in Bloomington. McGary grew up tonight and we need Stauskas and Robinson to do the same. Rest well boys and get ready to grind out the next two games on the road.
Brady Hoke - High quality recruits one or two at a time.
How does Stauskas look so cool after EVERY 3?
McGary also had an extremely good game, and I haven't seen many props for him. 14 points I think on 7 of 13 shooting with 6 rebounds. Not bad for a freshman in a really tough environment. Those 14 points were what Michigan missed in the IU game, no big man made a good impact on offense in that game.
Actually McGary had 10 points against IU. What we really missed against IU (and again tonight) was defensive rebounding. Morgan does great work on the defensive glass and we're a lot weaker without him.
We need to do the little things better. There's no stats or glory for boxing out, but ya gotta do it.
Improve defensive rotations...box out...MCGARY THROW IT DOWN...less heroball...Morgan get healthy. And can we start taking it to the teeth of the defense, please?
"Welllllllll..."
The refs really wanted OSU to win that one. Luckily, we didn't let them.
Don't do it. The man is a demon defensively.
Other snowflakes:
1. Our d-rebounding needs to pick up the pace. Way too many second chances.
2. McGary is getting better and better. I didn't think he could handle increased minutes, but he played very well in back-to-back games.
3. Hitting lots of 3 pointers is fun to watch.
4. Utilize pump fakes against shot blocker. Williams and Thompson both elevate with any shooting motion. Pump fakes would draw a ton o' fouls against that combo.
the end was the right call.... Just watched it about ten times and could have been argued a call on Burke on the floor but THJ got all ball on the shot.
2013 will be the year.
Hated what we did on D and what we called on O for the end of the game. Having said that, we had some big stops defensively in OT, boys toughed it out when needed to. Time to grow up fast for GRIII and Stauskas
...looked like he raked some arm before ball contact. But, whateva. I'm taking the "W" and am saving my bitchin' at the refs for another game. Seriously...I almost asploded when Craft's 3-pointer at the end of the shot clock wasn't waived off.
EDIT: Derp. Responded to the wrong post.
A win vs a top 10 opponent, in a home game sandwiched around 3 road games to MSU, IU and Wisc. BIG must have win. This is such a good team. We might be #1 again on Monday- does OSU play IU this weekend?
Harvard: The MICHIGAN of the East
We're not arrogant, we're just better.
Anyone hear the girl in section 204? Man it was fun to turn around to her and talk back. That was awesome to be at. GO BLUE
If you see someone in an airport with Michigan logos on luggage and they are wearing a pilot uniform come say hello.
Beating Ohio, I feel great about that. Our defense though continues to struggle. We cannot keep any dribbler in front of us whatsoever, we are constantly getting beat off the dribble and our rotations are slow and lazy. Hopefully this, along with our rebounding improves once Morgan returns. Offensively, about as frustrating because it involves a lot of dribbling, some screens on the ball, and 4 guys standing around, 3 of them behind the arc. Very frustrating to watch, we look like the team from 3-4 years ago offense at times. But you what? We beat the buckeyes, so dammit, I'll go to bed happy! Go Blue!
Denard Robinson......They're not going to catch him!
Jordan Kovacs wearing the michigan helmet and glasses next to Denard. Do it.
Bring back Keith Jackson
That was a lot of stress to just hold serve.
Hardaway and Burke stepped up when they needed to, and that was the difference.
I thought Beilein had a pretty bad game. The late game thing is nothing new. They very rarely run a real set there and it very rarely works. I've been complaining about it for close to two years.
The fact that UM only went to a single possession of zone when they were getting owned on that end of the floor is strange to me.

I like the way you think.
