Huh?

No it's not...it's probably an ACL and he's out for the year, but he still has eligibility left, why would his career be over?

Edit: This remains inaccurate information. Cade is a RS Junior, due to his COVID year.

Also weird that some folks are almost rejoicing in this injury. Anyway, this is common knowledge, he and JJ have the same eligibility...that was part of the whole QB "debate".  There is no reason to call this career ending.

If I recall correctly, that article seemed a little salty about medical care/recommendations. I've never known a physician who didn't give the absolute best advice for his patient that he could. And certainly not in umich medicine.

I really hope that this wasn't the result of a bad medical choice. It's tough to recover mentally and physically, even without having to have that dynamic to deal with.

Reviewing their comments on the medical reasons behind their departure, it seemed entirely possible if not likely that Cade and All were being sold a bill of goods, which is obviously dangerous when it comes to medical treatments. Hope his knee can recover. There’s more than a football career at stake- there are serious quality of life issues.

No.  Michigan doctors told him all he needed was rest, not surgery.  He and his family sought a second opinion - always a good idea with injuries, especially if they possibly involve surgery.  That doctor - a guy known for that particular type of surgery, recommended surgery.  That is why Cade left when he did.  He didn't want to sit and wait like the UM doctors recommended.

There's so much BS from that story.  All people do is read the worst and run with it...

Bad surgeons do, IMO.

There are conservative surgeons as well and probably some that are too conservative.

Still, when a guy who does surgery for a living, enjoys doing surgery and gets paid for doing surgery recommends that you NOT have surgery, you might want to listen.

Michigan wasn’t wrong with St. Juste. He had a recurring injury (hamstring) and it was their recommendation that he not continue to play. Different doctors can have different recommendations for the same injury, which is why “getting a second opinion” is often recommended. It was the opinion of the UM doctors that he could continue having issues with his hamstring and there was a potential for life altering injury. If St. Juste goes out next week and his hamstring blows up, would we still be questioning the UM medical staff’s decision?

At the end of the day, doctors can’t tell the future. They can look at the information they have, and they can give you their medical opinion and recommendations moving forward. Doesn’t mean they’re right or wrong, as not every case is the same and not every patient is the same.

He had surgery by one of the most renowned surgeons at this time, Dr. Neal ElAttrache https://www.maizenbrew.com/football/2022/11/11/23453055/michigan-football-cade-mcnamara-knee-surgery

This guy isn't some hack. He did Aaron Rogers' achilles surgery, Ohtani's elbow surgery, Tom Brady's knee, Kobe Bryant's achilles, Joe Burrow's torn ACL and MCL, Saquon Barkley's torn ACL, Chris Sale's Tommy John surgery, among others:

one of the announcers was saying it was a quad injury.  either way he left the field on the cart.  He had a lingering knee injury at UM and now this.  Feel bad for the guy.
