Given the recent moves they have made it almost makes too much sense.

My favorite part so far is Chris Canty saying the Pats should be punished like PED users because "cheating is cheating".
Right let's do that. Suspend them for the balls being under inflated. Lets keep it going too!
Pensonal foul? SUSPENDED
They should also go back and review tape for any missed infractions. The new NFL iron man will be anyone who can go 3 games without getting suspended.
Why in the world does anyone expect ultra-competitive people who have been take to win at all costs their entire life (because of what depended on it: popularity, college, a career, millions of dollars) to no take every advantage they can get?

In the NFL the other team gets a chance with the ball unless the first team scores a TD or allows a safety (defensive TD also ends the game).
I personally prefer the college method. I would think if they adopt it in the NFL they should start a longer distance off (the 35 or 40 maybe).
I don't like the idea of playing a full quarter because there is something overtimeish about it being sudden death. To me hockey playoffs is the best. When a hockey playoff game goes into OT you never know if it will be 10 seconds or 3 periods and any shot could win it. Put you on the edge of your seat.
Now the advertisers don't like this because they don't run additional commercials in the OT so it decreases revenue. No way to sell a commercial on "maybe we go to OT".
And college starts from the 25, just FYI.

If Cardale had gone his future would have road 100% on the combine.
Good combine = Goes high.
Bad combine = Drops low.
Nothing else would have mattered because 3 games wouldn't be enough to overcome a bad combine (as opposed to being a starter 2-3 years). Good combine would have just reinforced the hype.
A medicore combine would have likely trended to low.

To say that there is controvery isn't to say OSU didn't earn it.
As long as we have 5 major conferences and 4 playoff spots there is going to be controversy anytime the 4th and 5th seed champions have the same record.
The best case scenario is to roll the Big 12 into the other 4 conferences and give each of the 4 major conference champions an auto-bid. This makes it a defacto 8 team playoffs with the championship game being the first round.
I would rather listen to the mid-majors complain about getting left out than have to watch a team with a legit arguement get left out (TCU and Baylor in this case).
If the goal of the playoff is say "Team X is without a doubt the best team in college football" it didn't succeed this year. I'm not saying TCU is better or would beat OSU but they could and that's a problem.
The biggest travesty here is TCU was very good for 11.75 games this season and had 1 bad quarter on the road against the #5 team in the country cost them a shot at winning the national title. OSU got the benefit of the doubt getting outplayed by a 7-6 team from the ACC at home. That doesn't seem right.

And if we get goals from anyother other than Kris Draper and Jonathan Eriksson over games 6 and 7 they likely win the cup (and Osgood the Conn Smythe) in 2009 as well.
He never really stole games but there wasn't a lot that he gave away. He was just even all the time. That's kind of exactly what you want when you are arguably the most talented team.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||But in this instance he is||
But in this instance he is juggling the ball as he hits 2 feet down as the corner when up and swatted the ball on the initial catch. He gains control of it as he starts falling down reaching for the end zone but when he hit the ball hits the ground and comes loose.
Thats pretty much the definition of not completing the process of the catch.
When he initially gets the ball at the high point if the corner doesn't knock it out and he steps and falls then I agree its a catch but that doesn't happen here.
He gets control
Gets 2 feet down
Falls to the ground
There is no where in there where he has possession.

Ball is also knocked loose by the corner on the play. He is juggling it all the way though.

1) You are the first one to call him a thug.
2) Where are all these instances of Brady coming onto the field without a helmet and arguing with the refs?
3) Coming onto the field without your helmet is an unsportsmanlike penalty and should be flagged.
The poster is looking for the NFL to enforces its rules (like pass interference and defensive holding). Not trashing Dez Bryant.

|2 weeks 1 day ago||They do this in the NFL as||
They do this in the NFL as well.
The catch is it happens when the offense is still in the huddle. So the pats gets the ineligible guy int he huddle and wait for the personnel change then rush to the line and set and snap the ball before the defense can get set.
In college this rule is mostly applied to the no huddle. The intent is to prevent you from changing guys without huddleing and not allowing the defense to respond.
For example you send out a 2 TE I-form power running group for a couple plays. Break a 10 yard run and run the full back and 2 TEs out for 3 fast wide receivers and line up quick. Suddenly you've got 4 fast skill guys out against the other teams 4-3.
Find the wide out that is covered by a linebacker and profit.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||The refs tell the defense who||
The refs tell the defense who is/is not eligible after the substitution. Its up to the defense to react and align. If an offense can get set before the defense can react then that's just good discipline on their part.

"The Ravens should have called a timeout if they didn't align correctly"

|2 weeks 1 day ago||"Personally, I'm really||
"Personally, I'm really disappointed in Brady. He’s one of our most salient alumni in the NFL and what he was doing was going against Michigan’s values."
Get out of here with this. The guy is going to do everything he can do to win because its his job. If the NFL turns and changes the rules on this then fine they shouldn't do it anymore but right now its fair game and anyone can/will do it to them if they think it gives an advantage.
This is no different than how the Pats corners used to manhandle receivers within the 5 yards until the holding/hands to the face rules were implemented.
The Ravens are upset because the refs didn't hold the offense until the Ravens ID'd everyone. The Pats and the refs did exactly what they are supposed to do and the Ravens didn't react in time.
This would be like saying a team that hurries up and runs a play after one that the other team might review is cheating. Should the refs stop the game and as both coaches if they want to review after every play? No that would be silly.
The Ravens had their chance to respond to the Pats substitution and knew who was ineligible. If they didn't feel they were prepared they should have called a timeout.
