New ESPN Tunnel Video Out

Looks like Jacoby Windmon (#4 & not yet suspended) put his helmet on & held Gemon Green whilst Khary Camp (#14 & suspended) hit Green with his helmet.

is Valenti taking the MSU side or the right one?
October 31st, 2022 at 6:17 PM ^
Valenti more or less blamed Harbaugh, saying that the rivalry never was this bad until Harbaugh began coaching U-M.
November 1st, 2022 at 7:07 AM ^
Wrong Mike. The rivalry was never this bad until Dbag took over coaching and treated RR and Hoke like the weak kid on the playground. Harbaugh won’t be bullied, which I respect and has dished it back. Whether Tucker breeds this kind of culture or not is to be seen. But, he sure acts the part on the sidelines and his pressers. This whole thing is cluster fuckery 101 and if we cancelled all future games against them I’d be all for it. From Gholston trying to twist off Denards head, to the Spartan March when we were warming up. Enough is enough!

I can't see shit in this video. They are absolute morons.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:53 PM ^
They are basing this line of thinking 100% on Valenti having a throw away comment that the video he saw isnt what Harbaugh claims and shows a Michigan guy starting it.
October 31st, 2022 at 5:01 PM ^
Of course Valenti thinks that. He hasn't had a critical moment of "his" team since the HR Huffenpuff game.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:23 PM ^
Even if that were somehow true, you have at least 10-to-1 on one guy, and you think the proper retaliatory response is holding him while someone uses a helmet with their hand(a deadly weapon) to hit him over the head? I'm sorry at that point you aren't trying to teach a lesson or "get back at him", you are trying to egregiously hurt someone for life. The guy holding is just as responsible if not more than the guy swinging the weapon, he's an accomplice to the act.
Windmon absolutely needs to be suspended and face the same punishment as the guy swinging the helmet, whatever that ends up being in determination by proper authorities.

The level of bullshit I'm seeing from Sparty fans on social media right now is insane. These people have so much pent up jealousy, spite, and vitriol and the only thing containing that was their victory last year. A large portion of their fanbase has now gone off the deep end
October 31st, 2022 at 5:35 PM ^
A large portion of their fanbase has always been off into the deep-end!!!

Cocaine is a helluva drug.
October 31st, 2022 at 5:05 PM ^
There is no way Michigan threw the first punch. The only forward move I see from any Michigan player at all is when McBoroughs lunges or is pulled forward at :16. He's already been punched and pushed up against the wall at this point though, and Green has disappeared in the MSU people. McBoroughs may have been moving to try to get him out. Was worried for a second that he might have jabbed with his helmet, but I think what I'm actually seeing is McBoroughs moving forward with his helmet at head level trying to get it on his own head and then Green's helmet coming out as he ducks and dodges the MSU helmet, which seen together initially looked like one helmet swinging and arcing back. Maybe that's what the MSU people are seeing? Or maybe they're making shit up.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:31 PM ^
Khary Camp needs to be arrested and charged, then ordered to receive the help he clearly needs to be a functioning part of society. He doesn't need to go to jail or prison, what he needs is help for whatever is fueling the rage inside him.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:39 PM ^
There's a lot of that in this country. Rage where mild annoyance will do. Anger and hatred where irritation is enough. And violence, where yelling will do.
Not good. Nothing short of expelling the students involved, including maybe a game suspension for our guys for getting into it, AND, an open line handshake next year to cut this shit out for good.
I have low expectations, and presume it'll get worse on and off the field.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:49 PM ^
Unfortunately, I've seen that behavior too many times and all fear-based punishments do is create more rage. He needs help, and this incident should make him realize that going into a blind rage is not healthy. Don't mistake that, for he doesn't deserve to learn that there are consequences for his actions. Which may include expulsion, loss of a scholarship, or more from the university.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
This will be up to Harbaugh and Tucker on what happens going forward. The teams should take their cues from the Head Coaches. They have to let the players know this won't be tolerated...you will be expelled otherwise.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:44 PM ^
So anyone that tries to kill someone should not go to jail or prison, but just get help? What if his helmet would have hit just right and the Michigan player died? Then that would be different?
I mean, isn't this attempted murder? And he just needs a little help?
October 31st, 2022 at 3:51 PM ^
Life is full of what-ifs, and we can go down the what-if route until we run out of things to make up. He needs help before all the horrible what-ifs actually happen.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:17 PM ^
Someone can get help while being incarcerated. It's not one or the other.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:00 PM ^
No, it's not attempted murder. Jesus.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:32 PM ^
You're the first person I've seen say anything about attempting to kill or murder someone. Everyone else is saying assault, perhaps assault with a weapon of some kind. Introducing those words means something way different than what I think most of us saw. Could such a blow have killed him? Sure. But to me that would be manslaughter, not murder. Then again, I'm not a lawyer either. But no need to escalate the verbage there, methinks
And as another user pointed out, someone can both be incarcerated and receive help, they are not mutually exclusive. And as someone who worked in mental health in a jail setting, it's often the first place many of those folks receive help.
October 31st, 2022 at 5:53 PM ^
My understanding is that "assault" is attempting to attack someone. "Battery" is basically assaulting someone with a weapon. Then there's aggravated assault and blah blah blah.
But really, it's bad. I don't know that it helps to talk about murder and manslaughter and the like, because it's pretty clear that this Crump is going to be facing some serious legal shit over his behavior, and the videos haven't made intent clear to the point of being either "just" bad or really fucking bad.
October 31st, 2022 at 5:56 PM ^
This would be correct, would probably be treated the same as if you punched someone and they were killed, manslaughter is the charge in those cases. But the helmet is 100% a weapon so it should be more severe than normal assault or battery of someone.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:52 PM ^
TomVH reported that Gemon Green's father stated that Gemon was specifically hit in the head, shoulder, and back with the helmet. In other words, it was used as a weapon to strike Green in the head. He could have killed him.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:02 PM ^
Definitely
October 31st, 2022 at 4:57 PM ^
Either way, a traumatic brain injury is serious. Those are usually lifelong injuries, people rarely recover from them fully, sometimes not at all. You can permanently limit what a person can do in life.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:18 PM ^
That behavior puts society at risk. He needs to be in prison and he can get the counseling he needs while he's there.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:31 PM ^
I was wondering who that unidentified player in single digits was that was not suspended last night. Not a good look for MSU because Windmon should have been easy to identify from their end and suspended because so much of their team and staff witnessed it live.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:32 PM ^
Look at all the Sparties standing around and looking. “Wow isn’t that interesting. Our teammate is clubbing a Michigan player with his helmet. Huh.”
October 31st, 2022 at 3:49 PM ^
Look at the security people standing around doing SFA. What's the point of them even being there?
October 31st, 2022 at 4:11 PM ^
My guess is S.A.F.E. is just hiring randos off the street. None of those "security" personnel looked fit to secure anything. Michigan paid money for that?
October 31st, 2022 at 4:26 PM ^
Or maybe they thought that having "S.A.F.E." printed on the backs of their jackets was meta?
October 31st, 2022 at 4:22 PM ^
Between the 4 videos out there's atleast 2 police officers doing absolutely nothing as well.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:27 PM ^
Let's be fair, here. Many of them were already in the locker room; they didn't know what started it. You can see them come back out, and by the time they're out, it was nearly over. And many of the others were ahead of Green and McBurrows and likely didn't catch the initial instigation but saw the retaliation. They probably thought they were defending their teammate.
As for the others -- credit to MSU #47 (I think; eta maybe #41, as suggested below) and #33 (definitely) for pulling their teammate away.
Considering the numbers there, it could have been much, much worse. I'm actually heartened to see that most of them acted like, you know, people, rather than little Dantonio clones.
Also, I think this should (but won't) but to rest the idea that Green and/or McBurrows raced into the tunnel extremely early. The rest of their team showed up within a couple of minutes. Maybe they didn't feel like celebrating; who knows?
October 31st, 2022 at 5:00 PM ^
reports were that they were both dinged up and likely headed to get into treatment ASAP.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
Man, we're going to see if there is actual accountability when it comes to Windmon. Not sure what was available to MSU when the announced the suspensions, but Windmon should be gone along with Camp (the helmet swinger). Crimial charges are probably going to come for Camp.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:44 PM ^
The problem with that is Windmon’s replacement may be competent in coverage and we don’t want that. We want him to stay forever or at least for a few more years before he exchanges Sparty Green for inmate Orange when it’s time to report for prison. Orange is the new green.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
You mean Windmon wasn’t lost in coverage?
October 31st, 2022 at 3:35 PM ^
Outstanding!
October 31st, 2022 at 3:58 PM ^
yeah, that was the first time he was in the middle of the action all night.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
Also, #41 Derrick Harmon & #33 Kendell Brooks grabbed Camp & escorted him to the locker room. Couldn't tell if they stopped the beating but at least they got him out of the tunnel so he couldn't pummel anyone else.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:38 PM ^
If we rightfully excoriate the guys that did the damage, we should also appluad the guys that helped to defuse/break it up. Thank you for naming these two as such individuals.
I just can't believe everyone on that team is complete scum humans. Quite a few obviously are, but maybe these two are exceptions? They appear to be - unless we later see them standing around while it's still happening...
October 31st, 2022 at 3:41 PM ^
Agree. Also looks like #3 Xavier Henderson is trying to get everyone into the locker room and get some order a little later on.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:48 PM ^
*Edit I am wrong
October 31st, 2022 at 3:59 PM ^
agreed - he was definitely telling guys to get their asses back in the locker room. props to him for that.
October 31st, 2022 at 6:56 PM ^
They most definitely are not all bad people. That’s one side that also find very unfortunate is now they’re all kinda just lumped together as a nasty team. Which isn’t entirely fair.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
Mel....didn't see him involved, no idea what happened. Suspended a few irrelevant guys to please the media.
October 31st, 2022 at 4:10 PM ^
Please don't perpetuate falsehoods. The players suspended were not "irrelevant". They were the major assailants. The amount of time they play on the field is irrelevant. Tucker suspended the four who were clearly seen on the first 2 videos as the main perpetrators. I suspect Windmon will follow suit now.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:33 PM ^
All this shows is a group of Spartans surrounding Green as he is on the right side of the tunnel making his way to our locker room and then Krump bashing him repeatedly with his helmet. And this is vindication to MSU fans? Again…WTF??
October 31st, 2022 at 3:37 PM ^
They literally believe that no wrong doing was committed and that this is yet again UM and the Blue Wall bullying them.
October 31st, 2022 at 3:47 PM ^
Well when you bring in that character you expect this sort of stuff. They see it as normal behavior.
