The Huskers top scorer Teddy Buckets resigns from the team, and they look 1000% better.
Addition by Subtraction
Maybe they asked Teddy to leave?
On a serious note, teddy comes from a really tough background and has some understandable baggage. He’s the kind of kid you hope makes it through life without being so haunted as to destroy his life.
This was my "couch concern after hearing the news he'd left the program today. Cheers to this kid and hopefully he lands on his feet and stays above the crud he's likely come from and been around much of his life.
He has an injured hand and said he wanted to heal up and focus on his degree and what comes next. So doesn't sound like he's going in the wrong direction.
I got flack on this board back when we played Nebraska for a post arguing that the team and likely Teddy would be better off if they disciplined Teddy.
Yes, we all want the kid from Boystown to turn things around and make millions of dollars after multiple assaults on women and larceny charges. We all know that if it works out for him in a high-paid NBA career that his life will become perfect and we will never hear a bad word about Teddy again.
Sorry, but when you are leaving your fourth team in four years (and yes, only two of those were officially dismissals for criminal behavior) but getting another sports car and team to play for is not what is going to bring Teddy serenity and a happier life. I personally hope he does not win the sports lottery and has a chance to actually turn around his life.
I don't know if you'll get may MGoPoints for this title, but your Flesch-Kincaid score is through the roof.
+1 for being educational. Had to Google. Learned something new. I feel smarter.
Worse B1G Teddy:
Teddy Allen or TV Teddy Valentine?
Expand the field, universal Teddys:
Teddy Allen, Teddy Valentine, Teddy Dupay, Teddy Ruxpin, Teddy Atlas?
Teddy Dupay was awesome. Do not slander that man!
I always thought of Marshall Henderson as a white Teddy Dupay.
Ted Bundy?
Think hes the winner for worse ted of all time.
Teddy Roosevelt.
No Cornhusker HVC sighting yet.
Nevermind. Here are a few.
Rutgers? Rutgers!? Hey man, Rutgers you alright?!
+21 is the final. They gave up late points much like little Tommy would have.
Dang. There goes the Huskers' NET ranking.
+10000. You win
I guess playing nearly every damn day can be good for a team? Haven't watched them lately but just from the scores they seem to be playing way better.
Come on Rutgers, don't make this harder than it needs to be.
So Nebraska's season was a long con, lulling the rest of the Big Ten with apparent ineptitude, only to turn around and — surprise! — big win!
What if they win the Big Ten Tournament and grab an automatic bid??? NEBRASKETBALL FINAL FOUR BABY.
Better yet maybe they can beat Sparty in the BIG tournament to end their season. Priceless!
If NEBRASKETBALL goes on a tear and snags the autobid from the BTT and msu is left as the first team out (having been booted by Nebrasketball) the question will not be whether or not I would laugh at that scenario. The question is, would I ever be able to stop laughing?
The Rutgers blog labelled this the "Seal the Deal" game whereupon they would finally lock in the long-awaited tournament berth. You hate to see it.
Wait, not hate, the other thing. The 78-0, they fired the cannon but the touchdown was called back on a penalty thing.
Best part of that game!
Honorable mentions are the 2-pt conversion and the Rutger fans leaving in the first quarter.
Did a Rutgers fan leave that early? Not many people remember that we started that game with 3 possessions of 3 & outs on offense. It wasn't until Peppers got a big gain on a trick play that the offense finally woke up and it was 78-0 the rest of the way.
I would also include the Rutgers fan who found a Michigan fan to hug when Rutgers finally picked up a first down, early in the 4th quarter.
Every time Rutgers, Indiana, Minnesota and Penn St lose it helps MSU out. I wouldn’t go beyond 7 in any league this year because you are taking a spot away from a team that deserves it in another conference. Even with how strong the Bigten is I don’t see going beyond Maryland. The Big 12 has the same amount of good teams. The ACC really needs about 5. The SEC 5-6. I’d put Rutgers through Penn St in the NIT
More important for Sparty is Duke. They need Duke to keep winning to boost their "signature" win from the non-con season.
If Sparty *cross fingers* loses tonight and gets swept this weekend, they'd have to get to the BTT final to have a chance.
Ruggers back on the bubble? Only good win was a three point home win over Illinois and they have losses to Nebraska and Penn State, and got blown out by Sparty once. I have to imagine a loss to life-support Minnesota and an early big ten tourney exit would keep their hilarious streak alive
We have to figure out who we dont like in this conference. Its like a smorgasbord of teams we dont like losing every night. Eventually someone has to win right?
msu - Dorf on Golf
OSU- sins of the football
IOWA- they didnt take their loss well
Illinois- Coach talks trash
rutgers- they diluted our Big Ten shares
wisconsin - the players are AARP card carrying members
i feel like our 7-10th teams would be ranked in the teens if they were in the Big12 or Big east. Oh well wont lose any sleep over it.
Apparently the code is let "Big Ten Player of the Week" Geo Baker shoot threes.
