Nebraska AD Bill Moos canned
Well, this news came out of nowhere.
Program Manager...I've been in the office since June 1st 2020
Well that means Scott's officially on the hot seat, no question about that.
I tend to think Moos would still have a job right now if he hadn't tried to cancel the Oklahoma series last minute after everyone in Lincoln spent a decade waiting to renew that rivalry. I didn't think he could top the embarrassing antics last year with the whining about the schedule being too tough or the impotent threats of leaving the conference (for what, the Pac 12?!) but then he managed to when he tried to replace the renewal of the biggest rivalry in the history of the program with a game against UL-Monroe or some shit.
I think it's clear that if Scott Frost wasn't a former successful QB there, he'd be canned already. I'm almost more confused he's going down in flames than I am Harbaugh. Jim's had his struggles largely because Ohio State is a death star and he's judged by his performance against them. Scott Frost can't beat Purdue consistently!
I think going forward, especially with the G5 having playoff access, we really need to have a national conversation about whether programs like Nebraska are really better programs/jobs than a top tier G5 job like UCF.
we really need to have a national conversation about whether programs like Nebraska are really better programs/jobs than a top tier G5 job like UCF.
Same could be said for a team which hasn't won the conference in 18 years and fumbles around 3rd in the division.
Lol an entire generation of kids (and 4.5 full cycles of players) have never seen Michigan accomplish anything outside of 3 bowl wins and hundreds of facepalm moments.
losing to OSU started with Carr...
Hundreds of face palm moments? So at least 200 during what period of time? Things are bad enough without hyperbole.
Probably since the last time we won an outright conference title. I was 12 and this year I turn 30.
What exactly does "a national conversation" mean here? This doesn't seem like a very important topic. But if you just mean that people on ESPN should yell at each other about it, sure.
I find the timing of yesterday's article in the Wall Street Journal, about Moos and Nebraska, pretty amazing. I can't help but wonder about this too and whether it rubbed some people the wrong way.

Money quote:
"Innovation, he said, is part of the Huskers ethos: Nebraska was one of the first universities to embrace weightlifting as part of its football program in the 1970s and pioneered life skills courses for all athletes in the late 1980s."
"and pioneered life skills courses for all athletes in the late 1980s."
So, I'm imagining a typical player class schedule during the Osborne era was something like:
• Personal Grooming 101: Wiping after defecation; brushing teeth; how to take a shower; how to dispose of your dip
• Restaurant Etiquette 202: How to surreptitiously fart while waiting to be seated; Picking your nose while your date is perusing the menu at Golden Corral; the finer points of Dine & Dash
• Money Management 301: How you can be out of funds while still having blank checks in your checkbook
• Agriculture Senior Seminar: Know the difference between pigs and cows; Massey-Ferguson vs International Harvester; Center pivot irrigation
I mean you joke but the two secret sauces of the Osborne era was 1) tons of steroids and 2) a willingness to not even pretend the football players were students trying to earn a degree in something meaningful. Texas getting the Big 12 to change its rules about how many academic non-qualifiers could receive scholarships basically ended the Nebraska dynasty.
"... tons of steroids ..."
Ding-ding-ding we have a winner. How else could a bunch of no-name Nebraska farm kids turn into road graders? Raw steaks and 'roids.
'Roids were everywhere back then, but Nebraska was to them as the SEC is to bag men.
And don't forget the amphetamines!
Hey Moos, a few hours before you get fired . . . any interest in doing a sit down expose with the Wall Street Journal about Nebraska's semi pro football future.
The timing and unexpectedness leads me to believe this came about for reasons unrelated to the current state of Nebraska sports. Will be interesting what this means for Frost, who was probably on his last legs already.
Only yesterday (Thursday), The Wall Street Journal published an interview with Moos on how Nebraska wants to be a leader in helping athletes maximize NIL.
Draw your own conclusion.
To maintain his freshness?
I prefer Moos in a pouch rather than canned Moos.
Not as many Frost / Frost mom's comments as I expected.
After almost a full page, surprisingly few.
I'm hearing about this young guy, Solich, who has put together a really solid program at Ohio U. in the MAC. They'd be wise to look at him if they part ways with Frost.
I hear his agent has 10-year-old accounts on all the blogs to astroturf his candidacy, too.
Hopefully it's Nebraska back to the Big 12.
Uh, Nebraska sucks at everything. Why wouldn't they fire him?
This is good source material for my Scott Frost erotic fan fiction
What took them so long?
Scott Frost even moreso on the hot seat now.
The new guy coming in didn't hire him, owes him nothing, and barring a big turnaround in 2021 will probably want to clean house and bring in his own guy.
I've had canned meat before but never canned Moos.
Moo!
MOOS bitch get out the way.. get out the way bitch get out the way.
and on scott frost day no less
