If Rodgers is out for an extended period of time, or even the whole season, where does this rank for all time worst weekends in NYC football history?
Giants get blanked 40-0 by a hated division rival, and then the Jets lose the guy in the first five minutes of Game 1 who probably gives them their best chance at a Super Bowl since…..Nameth?

talking heads are saying 'x-rays negative, will not return'
September 11th, 2023 at 11:26 PM ^
Negative? Oh, my God. WHY! WHY! WHY? What? What? Negative is good? Oh, yes of course! How stupid of me!

It’s the Game Day Jinx. They’re “strugulling”
September 11th, 2023 at 9:06 PM ^
Guess Aaron Rodgers wasn't immunized against ankle injuries. I'm sure there's a homeopathic remedy though... slap some essential oils on there and he'll be good for the second half.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:26 PM ^
rub some ivermectin on it. Back on the field in no time.
September 12th, 2023 at 7:48 AM ^
Inject a little bleach to clean up that ankle and he'll be back by Sunday.
September 12th, 2023 at 8:57 AM ^
He doesn’t need injections. Just some meditation in a dark room for a couple of days. He’ll hallucinate the injury away.
September 12th, 2023 at 9:17 AM ^
Should've opted for the high top cleats
September 11th, 2023 at 9:13 PM ^
Rodgers looked like an achilles injury.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:41 PM ^
We should know more after Rogers consults his doctor, Joe Rogan.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:29 PM ^
Its mind blowing to watch a bunch of CFB and then watch an NFL game and you see how much better the NFL does commercials. Its night and day better
September 11th, 2023 at 9:29 PM ^
Football is hard for most 40yr old guys. I didn't seem like that hit was all that hard. He must have landed funny.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:45 PM ^
Shoud've been on board with the TB12 method.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:58 PM ^
He got his foot extended in a way it shouldnt be. The replay showed it. But I suspect a 22 yr old reacts differently to that injury then a 40 yr old.

Return of the Zach!
September 11th, 2023 at 9:40 PM ^
I believe the term that best describes Rodgers Jets debut would be: inauspicious. Bad luck, my dude. Get well soon.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:47 PM ^
Can't wait for Eisen's meltdown.
September 11th, 2023 at 10:29 PM ^
It could get ugly. He's been yakking it up since Rogers signed.
September 11th, 2023 at 9:51 PM ^
I don't see how he tries to hobble to the locker room if it's an Achilles. He'd know. Some are saying Lisfranc, which probably means he's out for the year. Hopefully less serious.
At any rate, his career might be in Jeopardy.
September 11th, 2023 at 10:09 PM ^
I used to think the same until I saw Tracy Walker, the Lions starting safety, rupture his Achilles last year vs the vikings, and he barely limped off the field. Crazy
September 11th, 2023 at 11:50 PM ^
Jets coach said he thought it was Achilles and it was "not good."
September 12th, 2023 at 8:55 AM ^
i was able to walk (with a limp) on a partially-torn achilles and was able to go about my day (including stairs) until i saw a surgeon a few hours later. and i'm a big baby!
September 11th, 2023 at 10:42 PM ^
Hate saying it about a Bucky WR…
But Wilson’s catch was SICK in every sense of the word. That made me howl. Thats pure art.
September 11th, 2023 at 10:48 PM ^
Those three (four) were fucking ridiculous.
September 12th, 2023 at 7:50 AM ^
That one-handed defensive catch for a TD was a thing of beauty. He's not at OSU anymore, so I can say - well done, my man!!!
September 12th, 2023 at 9:34 AM ^
He can't hurt us, now. It's OK
September 12th, 2023 at 11:11 AM ^
I’d say I was surprised… but watching him do sick shit every Saturday was an honor to watch. Sadly, he’ll have Wilson throwing him the ball every Sunday this year.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:08 PM ^
Sick. Typical Jets.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:14 PM ^
Jets = AFC version of Lions (not new Lions...hopefully).
September 12th, 2023 at 3:44 AM ^
Except the Jets have a superbowl win
September 12th, 2023 at 7:13 AM ^
Nearly 60 years ago and theyve been mostly trash since
September 12th, 2023 at 7:50 AM ^
Still better than the Lions history of Super Bowls. Stop caveating it...
September 12th, 2023 at 8:59 AM ^
well, except that jets fans are some of the worst around. the ones i've met (and it's not a small number) seem to think they're fans of some sort of flagship franchise, when in fact most of the country just thinks they suck.
we lions fans, at the least, know and generally accept our role. we know our team stinks, but we try to be hopeful while we wait for disappointment.
September 12th, 2023 at 9:26 AM ^
I'd go with the Browns. Neither team's been in the Super Bowl and neither city are not considered free agent destinations.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:16 PM ^
Amazing
September 11th, 2023 at 11:17 PM ^
Well I turned on the game at the right time. Undrafted and he wins the game!
September 11th, 2023 at 11:18 PM ^
Dont see that every night!
September 11th, 2023 at 11:20 PM ^
this is one of the most bills losses of all time
and i've been watching since '87
September 11th, 2023 at 11:24 PM ^
Now that is the NFL. Very entertaining game. I didnt have a stake in it but it was pretty riveting all the way thru. The 4-play Jets career of AARon Rodgerers. Jets D is legit. Josh Allen has his flaws but he is gutsy and can do some crazy things. Wilson’s craaazy TD catch. And an UDFA from Stephen F Austin wins it on a PR in OT. Who had that on DraftKings?
September 12th, 2023 at 9:00 AM ^
Josh Allen has his flaws but he is gutsy and can do some crazy things.
the guy is brett favre reincarnated. huge arm, can take your breath away with the things he does...both good AND bad.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:24 PM ^
Maybe the conspiracy theorists are right, and it is all scripted.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:27 PM ^
If the rules are that each team must possess the ball at least once in OT, why was the graphic at the bottom of the screen saying "Bills TD wins game" during the entirety of the first drive in OT by the Bills before the Jets received the punt? I was scratching my head...
September 11th, 2023 at 11:34 PM ^
Rule is each team must possess the ball once, unless the receiving team scores a touchdown.
This makes teams a bit more aggressive. Fewer ties, as a field goal leads to the risk it will be matched, then with only ten minutes of overtime, there isn't much on the clock left after that.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:35 PM ^
OK. The rules they showed before the OT started did not say that, only that both teams must possess. Thanks.
September 11th, 2023 at 11:50 PM ^
Though, to complicate things just a bit, the NFL changed the OT rules just last year in the case of playoff games: for playoff games, in particular, both teams are given the chance to possess the ball in OT, even if the initial receiving team scores a TD. (I think this change was at least in part occasioned by the KC-Buffalo classic.)
September 12th, 2023 at 12:46 AM ^
I didn't know that, but why conditional? If the amended rule is good for the playoffs, shouldn't it also be good during the regular season? Make it consistent. I personally hate how much weight coin toss has in the outcome.
September 12th, 2023 at 7:57 AM ^
I thought they actually came up with a good plan with the rule. You get a guaranteed possession unless the receiving team scores a touchdown. The home team was winning in overtime almost exactly at the percentage home teams win.
But then the Kansas City game came along and everyone was complaining with renewed vigor. I hadn't realized they changed it for the playoffs again, but I think it makes the kickers too important again.
