I'm working on essays. Again.
Fitz and Clark are still suspended. Have at it, misery loves company.
I'm in my office drinking coffee. I should be working on my dissertation defense, but I'm so tired I can barely stay awake at my desk. So lots and lots of coffee.
...for reminding about what may be the only advantage of being an architect.
Hold me TomVH
A drinking thread due to a player DUI qualifies IMHO.
BTW why is Clark suspended?
He robbed somebody. Or it's a misunderstanding. Take your pick.
Chances are good it involved alchohol.
Case of the Mondays, just soooooo stupid. Damnit!
There has been a lot of big news in the sports world this Monday. Tigs in first, Penn State, Fitz, Nash to NYR. A lot to take in, making for very, very little productivity today.
Luckily I will be downing some Natty Lights prior to beer league softball in a couple hours.
Playing without crucial pieces. Think that they'll buy that?
That excuse would be like when MSU fans would say Michigan only dominated MSU in the Lloyd years (and much before) because we had more talent than them. ...but I'm guessing you're just joking
Green tea. Makes the practice MBEs go by faster.
I have a new bottle of Glenmorangie, waiting impatiently for me to get off work.
Ncaa 13 team. Yeah, I' strict.
But there will be a lot of beer at some point this evening. Got to work out and go down to my leasing office, then it's all fun and games from there. Yes, I have a very hard life during the summer.
Today has been terrible. I have a case of Yuengling Light waiting for me in the fridge. I will be drinking #alloftheYuenglings.
Fruition is only 69 [cents] away?
because every time I scan a bottle, a female voice says "Sixty-nine...cents." I crack myself up sometimes.
Straight from the bottle
Worked a 12-hr overnight, got off at 7am, but it's so hot here I haven't been able to sleep. Now these two shitty situations pop up? I'll be spending quality time with Jack.
Funny, that's how i brushed my teeth this morning
Holy Fock Julian. I just jumped online to see all of this. Oh my, oh my. I will start throwing a few beers back earlier than expected. Drunk volleyball this evening instead of buzzed volleyball. Slipping into a moderate depression....
Eff me. My first Double post.
Water with 5.7 percent cyanide.
It's my birthday, which you would think is a good day--not so. It's Monday, I woke up sick, I have to work late, and now I am hearing about this sadness. This is my whining rant.
When it rains it pours. Things will get bette my man. They have to, because we're nearing the bottom (well, you are being sick and working late, etc. etc.)
I'm praying that this Dempster to ATL for Delgado trade goes through. Also hoping that Garza goes to the Dodgers for Lee. Could be a huge day for the Cubs looking 4 years down the line.
Jesus Christ. I'm a Braves fan and I just found about about this too. Not Delgado! Nooooooo, this day is sucking badddd.
Edit: Though Capitol Avenue Club blog just put up an update saying this trade may have fallen through if it even was in the works in the first place.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, they're simply waiting for Dempster's approval now. It should be straightforward as Dempster had mentioned the Dodgers and Braves as teams he was willing to go to. A complication may be his daughter's health.
Thanks for the heads-up. We will wait and find out I suppose. Randall has lots of upside I think. It's hard to tell sometimes with these young players. Some make it, some can't quite find it and don't pan out as well as expected. Delgado definitely has the tools to make it; again, it's wait and find out over the next few years. I'm still holding out hope he's a Brave by the end of the week!...
with a chaser of cyanide.
Maybe Michigan will get a running back from the PSU Free Agency of 2012?
After the last several threads, I am seriously considering opening one of the Chateau Lafites (maybe the 1975) when I get home (I inherited a stash, some of which I do plan to bring to a tailgate this year, if anyone is interested). Between two meetings in 85-degree saunas downtown and the news about Fitz and Clark, it seems only fitting to break into the rainy day stash.
what Fitz is drinking. FUCK
Well I was enjoying a hot round of golf drinking water and gatorade.. Then I decided to open the mgoblog app to see if anything interesting had occurred, and I find out about all of this.. Needless to say I bought some mountain dew at the clubhouse and broke out my Three Olives vodka that was in my golf bag to drink my sorrows away.. On the plus side, I finished with three straight birdies.
that I made for my 3 1/2 year-old granddaughter when she and her mom stopped by today. After they leave, then I'll reach for something stronger
I'm huffing Jenkum.
What a crazy day . . .
I am reminded that this game of football is just that: a game. Mistakes happen everywhere, including Michigan. No one is immune.
Orange juice at the moment, my favorite non-alcoholic beverage. Probably going to put back a few Hoegaardens once it gets a little later. Sweet Schembechler, this better be the last bit of bad news for the day.
Antifreeze. Getting out before I die from a massive rage-enduced heart attack.
...but I don't think they are strong enough. Will have to work on quantity.
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
Some of those references hit a little too close to home given recent events in State College
Still, a fantastic movie though
The campus 7-11 still has 4 Loco somehow. I'm thinking it is one of those nights.
I think that is the revised version of 4 Loko, unfortunately.
it's basically the same thing, without so much of the energy drink ingrediants I belive..still, it'll do the trick of getting through this day
At the top of my MGoBlog page is an ad with a headline that reads: "A DUI can cost you thousands." It's for the Ilinois State Bar Association. Nice.
Nervously awaiting word on whether or not I got the job... was supposed to be notified today.
So I have a bottle of Moet Chandon and a bottle of Johnny Walker black on the ready...
We will see which one I open up tonight.
Best of luck. Hope its the champagne.
well, it's about that time where everyone goes home, so I guess I won't hear back today.
I guess no news is good news, or so I will tell myself for now. The scotch is calling my name.
Crystal Light Peach Mango flavored energy water additive.
Don't hate, it's a rough afternoon. Besides, it's delicious and tastes WAY better than friggin' coffee.
I'm heading down to the epically awesome pub I found last week. http://www.bullsheadpublichouse.com/
God knows what trouble I'm going to get into there. The good news is, I can walk to my hotel.
I needed a "pick-me-up" and nothing else was strong enough.
Any chance Hoke goes after him?
....luckily there are 12 of them.
I am just waiting for "Denard jumps on car hood during a police chase after breaking into a dorm room to steal a laptop while high on cocaine."
Don't jinx it!
At least we're not Penn State?
just got home from work already steaming mad about Fitz and now our even slimmer chances of taking home a W from Bama..now this stuff with Frank Clark..pass me a beer..now
Hamms special light. 13.99 a case at campus corner her in downtown
Weihenstephaner. I only drink Bavarian beers, brewed under accordance of Reinheitsgebot. It sounds dumb and it probably is, but it's a taste I have formed and don't want to break out of.
Hypothetically speaking, a pint of Jack Daniel's in my hypothetical desk drawer.
starting with a Shandy. Have a couple Stella's in the fridge. Then i have a 6 pack of Dos Equis and a 6 pack of Bud Light Platinum. Enjoy, MGoNation!
At work wishing I had the Yuengling that I just remembered I need to get more of. So naturally I'm stuck with whatever the water fountain spews, which is hopefully mostly water...
Just threw one in the fridge so give it an hour or so and I will be enjoying some Munster, IN goodness.
Anyone wanna meet some place in downtown AA to commiserate? First shot's on me.
Would love to join u but I'm six hours south in Columbus Indiana:( but coming up on sept 15 to catch my first game at big house so I'm looking for some blog buddies to help me find a good place to hang out and drink fri before the game any help is appreciated!!! Thanks
Thanks that was pretty informative!! I'm pretty excited bout making trip up there! Wheres the best place to tailgate on game day? Wanting to get the best experience I can!!
A lot of people will say the Golf Couse, which is true. But if it's your first time you also want to get a taste of the scene north of the stadium (golf course is south). What I would do is park on the northern end of central campus several (3-4ish) hours before game time. Make your way through campus towards the stadium, hitting any bars that you may want to hit, or if you're adventurous, house parties. 1-2 hours before kickoff, get to the golf course (assuming you know someone on it, if not, just enjoy north of the stadium until you head in... or make friends). Eat, drink, be happy. Get to the stadium 45 min before kick so you can be at your seats 25 min before kick. Enjoy the pre-game.
Wow thanks sounds like a really good time!!! I'll look forward to meeting up with some of guys off the blog!! Thanks again!!!
UYES except I'm already drunk and not ina ann arobor@!!!
Cause eff it.... you know?
The day somehow got worse in the past couple hours. I've switched to hard liquor. Bacardi Arctic Grape + Tropicana Peach White Tea + ice.
"Bacardi Artic Grape"? Does that count as "hard liquor"? Just start drinking caipirinhas. They taste good, and they're faster.
That's hard for me! And 'm not allowed to call anyone you guys, makes ure I don't call anyoen!
I'm conflicted.... I'm tempted to give you a phone just to hear what you'll say.
it will bprobably be a mariage proposal. NOBUENO
"What? You're already tired of sex?"
he broke my heart ninemonths ago andi've compared every guy iv'e been with to him eversince. he's pretty muchthe only person ive ever truly loved and i don;t think heknows
That's a perfectly good reason to drink heavily, and a perfectly bad reason to call him once you've started.
in orgo 1 lik a million years ago dr. nolta put longfellow's 'thearrow and the song' ont eh board. has always been my favorite aopoem. iddn't even know what that poem meant utnil i met him. keep apicture of us from #utl infront of scoreoard in my wallet with the arwrow and the wsong written ont heback.
I got dumped by a girl and a friend of mine recommended a heavy dose of Sam Kinison (whom my friend called the greatest relationship therapist of all time). In that spirit, here you go:
I see the great minds at Bacardi and Powerade have joined forces. It was inevitable.
And Fergodsakes call a damn cab! Don't be like Fitz.
Don't be like Cissoko!
Sam Adams Summer Ale with a giant side dish of grief and suffering.
Well its no longer afternoon, but it's a Great Lakes Commodore Perry IPA.
