|5 days 13 min ago||Love Moose Ridge||
Leslie is nice, but not one of my favorites around AA. Both the UMGC and Radrick are beautiful if you have a chance to play them. When I'm willing to take a little bit of a drive out of AA, Moose Ridge is one of my favorites to play along with the Grande Golf Club in Jackson and the Legacy Golf Club (Arthur Hills design) down in Ottawa Lake. Everytime I've played Legacy, the greens are in superb condition and overall the course is just very well manicured. A sleeper course for me when I was in school, was going to Chelsea to play Pierce Lake. As a student they had pretty good deals and I could play really cheap. The course isn't spectacular (greens seemed to be inconsistent and not in the greatest shape I've seen), but I think the course has great value. I always thought I got more out of it than what I paid for. I'd love to be able to play Travis Pointe and Polo Fields again now that I'm older. I played them a few times in tournaments when I was a kid, but they are both private courses and I couldn't find a way to get on them during my time in AA . From what I remember, they were both beautiful courses.
|5 days 31 min ago||You're correct||
I was actually thinking of Travis Pointe CC a little further down the road across the street from Stonebridge. And those are actually off of Maple St just off of AA-Saline. I've played a few private clubs in the AA area and get them mixed up since it has been a while since I played them. But yea, I'm not sure what could be the reason for him putting Jackson, MI. That could definitely be a possibility.
Side note, I played Lake Forest and for the price I paid I wasn't expecting much at all. I was pleasantly surprised with the course.
|5 days 2 hours ago||Confused why he put Jackson, MI||
Having played Polo Fields a few times, it's definitely an Ann Arbor golf club. Have things changed between 1998 and 2007? I know the first time I played Polo Fields in 2007, it was located just off of Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. I've played nearly every course in the Jackson and Ann Arbor area worth playing, and I don't ever remember Polo Fields being located in Jackson.

These are not power rankings for this season only. It's a power ranking of teams most likely to have success over the next 3 seasons.

This is why I don't buy into preseason hype, or a performance against a terrible app state team. Neg me all you want, but Hoke hasn't shown his teams can win on the road. His best road win is against a terrible NW team. Here's to another 8-4 season. I'm officially hammered now. Fuck!

For as many easy passes as they've dropped, they've made some really nice catches down the field.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||The refs in the Bama WVU game||
These refs have made some terrible calls in Alabama's favor. Apparently getting run into by an offensive player running out of bounds is an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||How is that pass interference?||
Terrible pass interference call on West Virginia. Refs trying to make sure Bama takes control early in the second half.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||Just moved to Omaha too||
This is really unfortunate. I just looked this up a couple of weeks ago because I just moved to Omaha. Sad I won't be able to catch a Nebraska Michigan game in Lincoln while I'm out here. I think I'm going to the Nebraska Miami game now on September 20th to see my first game in memorial stadium. I'll still be wearing my maize and blue proudly that Saturday though!

Words can't even explain how good this feels. I always dreamed about graduating from this great university, and now that it's real, I'm just filled with pride. These past 4 years will definitely be some of the greatest memories of my life. Forever, Go Blue!
|21 weeks 2 days ago||I just asked about this in the Kam and DJ thread||
I found this interesting. I hadn't heard Igor's name mentioned at all and was kinda surprised when they mentioned Serge saying that we might be offering his brother. Looked like he was a solid player as a freshman. It will be interesting to see if this develops into something going forward.
|21 weeks 2 days ago||Are we looking at Igor Ibaka?||
Anyone else watching the OKC vs. Memphis game and catch their conversation about Serge Ibaka's brother Igor possibly getting offered by us? He played at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M college, averaged about 14 points and 10 rebounds per game as a freshman. They have him listed as a 6'9" 220 lbs center. The announcers during the game mentioned that Serge said his brother might be getting offered by U of M and I just was wondering how serious this was. I haven't seen anything mentioned about this on this site or anywhere really. Maybe someone else has some insight into the situation?
|30 weeks 1 day ago||Yes there was an email||
I have season tickets and I definitely received an email specifically stating the line started at 7 AM. They did the same thing for the Arizona game, and when I showed up at 6:45 to try and get in line I got kicked out of the parking lot and wasn't allowed to enter until 7. So today I didn't show up until 6:45 thinking they would handle it the same, but I saw that almost 300 people were already in line. I was frustrated to see that they let people line up before 7 since they didn't let me for the Arizona game. But in the end, I benefited from the whole situation. I went from being about 300th in line to about 100th since I jumped into the new line right away. So in the grand scheme of things I was happy that it worked out for me, but I definitely don't agree with how the maize rage handled it. If I were one of the kids in the front, I would have been pissed. We just need to be allowed to line up whenever we want. We're adults and can make our own decisions on how long we want to wait in the cold to watch a game.
|30 weeks 2 days ago||Lineup was 7AM||
Students received an email saying lineup was at 7 AM. But still, what the athletic department did was not right. Having a designated time to where a line "officially starts" is absurd. It's just so the leaders of the maize rage don't have to wait in line all night. They make rules to make the gameday experience more convenient for them. Students should be allowed to lineup whenever they want. We get bitched at for showing up late to football, and threatened to get arrested for arriving too early for basketball. This is why the athletic department will receive no support from many future alumni.

Just beat me to the punch. This couldn't be any more spot on.
|44 weeks 11 hours ago||Fans other than students need to show up||
The student interest has grown, but outside of the student section the interest still isn't there. There's a lot of empty seats and not much noise coming from places other than the student section. Students should be alloted more seats near the court until we actually have other dedicated fans showing up to every game. The atmosphere at Crisler can be great as we've seen for the Indiana, Ohio State, and Kansas games the last few years, but it's only the big games where Crisler has a big home court advantage. You look at the Breslin and they have a great crowd no matter who they're playing. Michigan isn't to that level quite yet. We're getting there, but in the mean time the students need to have more seats near the court to have a significant home court advantage because the rest of the fans just aren't cutting it as of right now in my opinion.
|50 weeks 1 day ago||This is not a good idea||
I can barely afford tickets the way it is. I go to this great institution but I don't receive much financial help. If tickets were raised to what everyone else pays, there is no way I could afford it. But "general admission" is not the answer. When we had assigned seats, I was always in the stadium early. I love watching the team warm up, watching the country's best marching band, and watching all those winged helmets running out of the tunnel and slapping the banner. But now with this new policy, you don't have a choice where to sit. They have been assigning seats and packing people in. Being someone who wants a good perspective on the game (section 26 row 40 to 50) I need to show up near kickoff. It's really unfortunate. Growing up I always knew I would go to U of M and then after graduation I would donate to the athletic department to support our teams. But after my experience with Dave Brandon as AD, I won't ever send in a penny while he's there (and I know other students with the same POV). I have been a loyal fan and have attended games my whole life in the big house and on the road. It's a shame that DB has caused many great fans to lose their desire to support Michigan Athletics. Every game I attend in the future I'll just buy my tickets off of stubhub or some other secondary market.
Also, I can't wait to see how everything goes this basketball season. I'm sure it will all work out, and everyone will be happy. /s

he was carted off of the field during a stoppage in play after he had been helped to the sideline.
|52 weeks 17 hours ago||Viewpoint from a current senior||
This is my senior year at U of M and have attended nearly every game since I arrived on campus. My freshman year I was one of the few people in the whole arena (not just student section) at tipoff every game. The number of games I have missed through my first 3 years can easily be counted on one hand, and the games I missed were due to reasons that were more important than sports. I am in the bleachers early for every game, sat in the front 2 rows at the final four and national championship, and am a big time Michigan sports fan. The main problem I have with this is the athletic department needs to understand that sometimes it's not possible to attend every game. What if one of the most dedicated student fans gets really ill, or has some form of family emergency where they miss two games in one week and has to miss the Indiana game this year? Or get shitty seats to the state game? My point is some things in life are bigger than sports, and having to miss games in the past due to these things myself, I will feel terrible for myself and others if they have to miss out on Michigan sporting events because the athletic department screws us over.
To all of you bitching and complaining, and saying students can stop whining and need to just show up, need to tell that to the students who aren't the dedicated fans. The dedicated ones are there every night cheering on the maize and blue that we all have grown to love, and now we have the possibility of getting screwed out of tickets because other students don't care as much as we do. How would you feel as a michigan football season ticket holder who has attended nearly every game for 30 years if the athletic department gave your ticket to a game to somebody else because you couldn't show up the previous week? I bet not very well.

I'm taking Tiger this weekend as well. He loves the course and he's finally in control of his game again. If he putts like he has the past 2 tournaments, he will win.

The sleeves were given out to every student on Saturday along with a pair of glasses. Then on Monday they gave every student a head band and final four towel. I didn't bring my sleeves home, but a couple of my housemates did.
