Michigan v. S. Dakota St. Postgame (Snowflakes) Thread
Wasn't always pretty until the end.
71-56 MICHIGAN!
3rd Round here we come!
Thoughts? Thoughts.
He doesn't anymore, since he is dead...
The big ten is tough and I believe all of our conference will advance pretty far into the tournament. Would rather play Kansas than OSU or Indiana that is for sure.
My bracket with Vapo, Davidson and Belmont in the Final Four is not looking good right now...
but then again, pennys were always more knowledgable about baseball
The only "baby seals" in the NCAAs are the #16 seeds. The #13 seeds are generally solid teams, just from small conferences (which hurts their RPI).
Same decade even!
Dude, this is his third tourney win here. Where were you in 2009 (Clemson) and 2011 (Tennessee)?
If they do what they did tonight and Trey can get his shot to fall, we're a tough out. And damn good job by the defense.
We were only +1 on the boards, but we'll take that going forward.
I presume Sparty goes first since them and Memphis played earlier.
Not sure exactly, but since the played in the evening today, they'll play in the evening again. It won't be a noon game.
Seeing the substitutions in the first half really gave me confidence that the Wolverines would be able to wear down the Jackrabbits.
Michigan won! I'm happy! Now back to nail biting about my bracket. Belmont you are dead to me right now.
Yeah I had Pitt in the Final Four. Oops.
Just Belmont and UNLV for me but that was a nice little 6 point turnaround. Come on Belmont. You can do it!!
This time, David regressed to the mean in the second half instead of doing an Ohio U or PSU. Also, it looks like McGary might have won a starting job for the rest of the tournament. It was great to see that Michigan can win without a lot of scoring from Burke, too.
Before tomorrow is finished, I'll bet there will be at least one highly-seeded team that wishes they had perfromed like this in their first game, not counting 5-seed OK St's cliche loss to a very underrated Oregon at 12.
How many minutes did McGary play?
I feel like the entire game the announcers were saying "And Jordan Morgan, the usual starter has only played 1 minute this game!"
Obviously Horford played some.
McGary: 25
Horford: 14
Morgan: 1
Pitt....cause Big East is over rated. BTW, I got U-M winning the whole thing on that sheet!
What time is the game on Saturday?

I think GRIII hit more outside shots tonight than he did in the last 2 months combined.
We just won baby. Take a shot!
And if it's under 70 proof...take two.
(and this goes out to everyone who wasn't drinking tonight...if you're of age, take an MGoShot, screw work tomorrow).
Sorry if I seem confused, but I was watching at a bar with no sound on the TV... Who's that kid wearing 1? Where'd he come from? Whoever he is, I sure hope he keeps playing like he did tonight.
Mike Jones?

Who?
Ok, Trey Burke had his one off game for the tournament, now its time for him to go on a 5 game tear all the way through Atlanta. Go Blue.
Despite scoring only 6 points, Trey racked up 7 assists and facilitated the offense without really needing to put up a typical Trey Burke performance, and that was great to see. It was a great all-around effort on offense overall - Hardaway and Robinson with 21 points each, combined for a collective FG% of 90.9% between the two of them.
Overall, Michigan's effective FG% as a team was 58.0%, which is one of the best performances lately. We also capitalized on their 12 turnovers and limited the damaged from the 9 we committed.
Minor note - we were actually given a 97% probability to win that game by Massey, so in a hypothetical scenario based on his numbers, our chances to face Kansas now sit at 16.47%, as VCU being given a 63% probability to beat Akron, and the Kansas / UNC matchup is the most likely result of their respesctive games. We would be at an estimated 62% chance to win against VCU and, if it happens, 73% against Akron.
Potential reason #1: Coaches decision (see B1G tourney).
Potential reason #2: Knee is still an issue, or tweaked it. But haven't heard anything about a reinjury.
press conference on BTN right now, FYI
