The McCaffrey's don't like Scott Frost either
Scott Frost threw shade at Luke for putting his name in the transfer portal again, and said it won't be the last time, and Christian shot back.
All these guys are ridiculous ?
And the article has a blatant error in it! It says, "Frost would go on to win Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year in 1996 before leading Nebraska to a national championship in 1997." False. Michigan won the National Championship in 1997.
I have to agree with the Big 12. Scott Frost is definitely an offensive newcomer.
FIFY....
"I have to agree with the Big 12. Scott Frost is definitely an offensive noob."
"Either?" Did they throw shade at Harbaugh?
Edit: Oh, like we don't like Scott Frost. Duh.
Scott Frost is a classless douche!
I concur
I don't know what happened to him. I went to UCF during the 0 win season and his seasons, but he wasn't anything like he's been at Nebraska.
If I had to guess, being in the middle of Florida meant he could just grab a bunch of local talent and find a way to make it work. Much harder to rebuild that at Nebraska.
But, he's beefy ;)
....you mean salty!
Not true...his mom even said so.
I don't really care what the McCafferys think. Other than having some talent, I don't think college football is a better place because they were in it.
Cool, if you don't care what the McCaffreys think then maybe you shouldn't comment on an post that talks about what the McCaffreys think. I for one like the family, think college football is better for having them in it, and love to hear anyone who publicly talks smack about Scott Frost.
The tl;dr is that Scott Frost himself transferred from Stanford, which I didn't remember myself.
It reminds me of Lou Holtz complaining about coaches who leave their teams for another job before the bowl game just like he did when he was at Minnesota.
Frost isn't entirely wrong, though. In at least some cases a player would be better off staying where they are, especially if they transfer to the wrong school. We of course don't hear about these players--they just kind of disappear. At the same time, transferring is their choice and it needs to be about the needs of the player and not the needs of the coach.
Frost isn't entirely wrong, though.
I agree, but coaches just need to shut up about this shit. They sound angry and bitter at these kids who are just trying to do the best for themselves. At best, they come off as condescending, hypocritical douchebags who think the kids are too dumb to think for themselves, and only they (the coaches with superior knowledge) know what is best for these kids.
10.1.1Agreed. I'm sure Frost, and other coaches, are trying to reel in transfers from other schools. So they really shouldn't be dragging the players who leave their schools through the mud.
Agree 100%. Frost isn't making himself look good, and the obvious conflict of interest makes him a terrible choice to be talking about whether or not a transfer is good for a player.
Is Frost complaining though? From what I'm seeing reported he's just saying kids are getting bad advice. That seems correct about the transfer to Louisville as evident by Luke promptly transferring again. He didn't specify which transfer he was referring to. I think the McCaffrey's are getting a bit touchy.
Frost isn't entirely wrong, though.
"You're not wrong Walter, you're just an asshole."
Frost may not be wrong but he should just keep his mouth closed and worry about his own team. Don’t throw shade at a college kid
Exactly. Grown man making millions and his students don't make anything currently. And he's going to criticize the kid for trying to make his best way to his own payday...smh
Haha. Scott Frost getting called out for being an idiot. Someone needs to remind him that he's not an anonymous poster on a fan board.
Keeping up with the McCaffreys season 1.
That darn Frost
Dylan McCaffrey played like 2 games for Michigan and the family name has appeared on about 90 posts on this board.
Can we just move on from this family?
Scott Frost played zero games for UM and is a fairly consistent topic.
Some people just like to watch the world burn...
Must be his summit pose!
It is amazing what "That 70s show" did to this guy. In his past he played a bad guy(s) in the future but in the future he played a good (good-ish) guy from the past. Doc was right!
Yep.
He was a hard-ass, but was a good dad. I have to admit I've used several red-sims myself, prominent among them, "No, you don't have bad luck. The reason bad things happen to you is because you're a dumbass." Great reminder that we all have ownership when things go wrong.
I thought he was well portrayed on the show and the actor did a great job with him.
Those pesky McCormicks!
The McCaffreys aren't wrong in calling Frost a hypocritical douche. But Frost also isn't wrong, transferring to Louisville and then from Louisville to Rice all in the span of 4 months is pretty ridiculous. The portal is getting out of hand.
Maybe Luke should start focusing on academics first.
I disagree that Luke’s transfer is evidence of the portal getting out of hand. If he really got bad advice to transfer to Louisville from Nebraska, then he was able to rectify that by leaving and going to a school that could be the exact right spot.
In Luke’s case, Scott Frost was accountable in the sense that if he didn’t communicate properly to Luke, or they weren’t the right fit for each other, Luke doesn’t have to suffer on the bench while Frost moves on to someone else. Louisville was accountable as well, if they lied to get him there or he was otherwise poorly advised, they don’t get to keep him. He’s not miserable on the end of bench somewhere because adults did a poor, or malicious job of coaching him. I’d say that’s the best part of the portal.
I think the most shocking part of this story is that Scott frost was at Stanford for two years….
we call that an "early frost"
So his text would be a "Frost Warning".
There are a lot of douchebags that went to Robber Baron U.
Scott Frost doesn't even like Scott Frost.
Does Scott Frost's mom like Scott Frost?
Reminds me of the time The Onion broke the story about Dave Mathews not liking Dave Mathews anymore.

Does anyone (aside from his mom) like Scott Frost?
Edit: Oops, a couple minutes late with this sentiment.
I take issue with McCaffrey calling them "kids".... they are legal adults... and goes with the territory of being a grown up. The issues they had with Michigan, shows, this parent helicoptering wasn't a one-off.
Frost might be right about the transfer dangers, but as a transfer himself he should have stayed quiet.

Thank you! As a HS teacher I hear both parents and other teachers alike referring to students as "children" all the time and it drives me nuts. I hate that shit. It's demeaning to them and makes them sound incapable of making decisions and shields them from the responsibility of their actions. Children are under 13 years old. Adolescents are under 18 years old. And, young adults are over 18. If you're in HS you're an adolescent and if you're in college you're a young adult. Let's stop treating people like they are less capable and give them the opportunity to grow up, make mistakes, learn from them, and grow. It's in their best interest after all. Everyone wants to hide from the uncomfortable feelings of making mistakes, but it's a necessary part of growth and development. Let young people grow up, make mistakes, hold them accountable, support them, let them learn from their mistakes, and develop. This is what development and growth is all about after all.
lack of accountability, fertilizing problems that grow out of control
