I like us at 12, but if conference realignment is going to happen, here's what I see/would like:

I see FSU and VT going to the Big 12 soon. ACC either stays at 12 or picks up UConn and Louisville to compensate. Big East picks up a few more C-USA teams.

ND finally capitulates and joins the B1G. I think we can steal Missouri from the SEC if this happens; they clearly want to be in the B1G, and accepted an SEC invitation as a backup. They'd fit really well, especially with Nebraska and Illinois. Boost to both football and basketball. I'd be really hesitant to move beyond 14, even for UVA.

To echo a lot of what has been said here, Stanford would be a good matchup. Do a home-and-home for 2014-2015, take 2016 off (or schedule a big mid-major at home like Boise State), then start 2017 with the original plan.

I think Missouri would be a great pair with ND. They're like Nebraska lite, an old Big 8 school that really doesn't like Texas and has good football and basketball. Put ND in the Legends with cross rival Purdue and Missouri in the Leaders with cross rival Iowa. If we have to go to 16, MD and Rutgers make most sense.

Too soon. Let's wait a few years until Michigan and Arizona become powers in their respective conferences, maybe even meeting in the Rose Bowl a few times. By then, everything should be healed.

I'm wondering if Ole Miss will splurge for a good set of coordinators. Maybe not Kirby Smart level (though that would be a coup), but getting Jeff Casteel or someone comparable would be essential to compete in the SEC West.

RR might not want to take a job that has as much drama around it as SEC football, especially at Ole Miss. The drama is what doomed his job here, and I don't think he's going to jump into a similar situation.

When we force Denard into pro-style plays, he naturally doesn't look good. That offense plays exclusively to his deficiencies. When we go to the 2-minute offense and let Denard do what Denard does well, we get lots of yards and points. Why you take a guy that went 2500/1700 last year and decide to bottle him up is beyond me.
