Glad it wasn't Donlon or Washington.  Be nice to have some continuity this year.

Meyer was with Michigan quite a while though...

This seems surprising considering Meyer is such a longtime Beilein loyalist. At least we still have continuity with the other two assistants, but it's disappointing to lose a longtime guy to a lateral role at Butler. Oh well, onward.

Meyer is from Indiana and still has family there. He's also going to be Jordan's top assistant at Butler which I don't think was the case here once Donlon came onboard. Good hire by Vall.

There is a lot of back story to Meyer. I know it was linked to here at mgoblog in the past. He got shafted for reasons out of his control. Sometimes coaching can be political in a way that isn't very nice. He really should have been a head coach again, although that ship has probably sailed for good. Anyway, it was a "win win" situation. Beilein picked up a great  coach, who was a good guy. Helped Beilein, and also helped Coach Meyer. I am pretty sure that Beilein and Meyer are all on the same page with this move.

I think this is one time we can take someone at his word---he's going home to Indiana.  [I also think he realized he wasn't ever going to become a head coach again, so he's past looking for stepping stones]

Great coach to pair with a young head coach
Rooting for their success

I expect donlon to be elevated and beilein can bring in a young recruiter- important move , may be beilein's last hire
