Mario Ojemudia's Tweet

"I think I'll make my life easy and just get this over with"

He was at the msu spring game this past weekend but people seem to think he favors UofM. It would be wonderful to grab another instate 4 star especially if it takes one away from a rival such as msu. Here is his Scout profile

He'd probably end up playing rush end like Roh.

I think Mario, T. Richardson, Wormley, Godin, R. Thompson, Day, Diamond, and Gunner should just all just make their lives easier and get it over with...

I don't understand why everyone keeps throwing Gunner Keil's name around like we have a good chance for him.  I want a 5* qb in this class as much as everyone else, but all we know is that he was a strong ND lean, he visited us last week, but hadn't been interviewed or given any favorable comments about Michigan since.  I think we will get all of the other guys you listed, so I am happy with that.  I just think qb is going to have to be addressed with Shane Morris next year.

and note that we will be fine, with Bellomy, too.  Don't forget about this kid.... unless you want to be very pleasantly surprised... I liked Bellomy's film more than Pike's FWIW.

...right?  Heard he was OSU fan growing up?

Being a fan means nothing.  These kids are making life decisions, and right now coming to UM is the right life decision.

I have a gut feeling he is going blue.

I find it strange that Scout has him as a DT.  At 220, I think just about everyone projects him as either a DE or OLB.  For us, clearly DE.

Is anyone recruiting this kid as a DT?

I would wager they did not put much effort yet to projecting him to next level this early in the process. A tweener rush end/LB does not take much effort to project that he will not be a DT. Since it is so early In the ranking process and he is not in the very top end of prospects I would imagine they will change accordingly in the coming months.

I like it. I picture him at Sparty's spring game all like "well f this, these people have no class, I am way underwhelmed after seeing Michigan.". Then he decides that no school can compare to UM and he's wasting his time looking and figures he should just commit already.

<br>If we keep getting recruits at this pace, they can all hang out this summer and become friends. MEGA CLASS = SUPERBESTFRIENDS!

Pretty wonderful. Weather is going to be fantastic this week. I'm thinking of doing some scouting and video work at the Denver Mullen games this upcoming season. Try and bring the MGoCreeper Van to CO.

players if you can get the best from all over, but there is a lot to be said for the power game we are asserting now, sweeping in (from appearances) and taking every damned body in Michigan. It will be fun to beat the tar out of MSU one day soon with a team loaded with local four and five-stars.

By the same token, it must really suck to be Dantonio.

What's important is that MSU does not have the national recruiting power we posess.  If we take the instate kids, as opposed to focusing on Florida kids, we are taking kids away from MSU, and they won't be able to go out of the midwest to make up for it.  MSU should not be able to compete on the field with UM, ND, and OSU.  Unless of course UM, ND, and OSU decide to ignore local recruits.

How do you think MSU got to where they are. 3 years of not having UM take all the best players in state is how.  It is the exact same thing that happened to basketball 15 years ago.  If Hoke can keep this up in 3-5 years MSU will be right back t the Bobby William/Jon L Smith era.

...so this is my first post, but I read this daily. Can someone with more knowledge tell me if we are to take 2-3 DE's in this class, how does Mario compare to others who are interested in Michigan: A. Washington, C. Wormley, N. Spence, P. Brown, S. Pittman. The others seem to have more favorable size for a DE.

Not an expert at all but my understanding is that UM has a good chance with Brown and Wormley but the others are long shots.  I had always thought 2 DEs was the likely target.  While Mario is more slight than the other two (and I think Wormley is bigger than Brown), Mario has big potential.  You always make room for Wormley but with zero DEs committed right now, I think you happily take a verbal from Mario if he wants to come.  The real question for me is how this would affect Brown.  I don't think it has a big effect on Wormley since he likely has a spot if he wants to come.

Thanks for your response, very helpful. Like you, would gladly take Mario - big potential, in-state kid, snatched away from MSU. On Wormley though, I am reading things differently - I think we are losing traction there - just my gut. I really like Pharoah and Adolphus (not just because of their names). While Pharoah seems to be higher on Michigan, Washington is getting more and more interested. Plus, the tie-in to Stamford is really key - landing both of them would be huge!

There are many highly rated uncommitted prospects that have interest in Michigan.  I think we have to take someone like MO because it seems like he has good upside.

I really like the Washington and Stanford duo, but I think we have some work to do to catch up to osu.  I think we are finally even now for Wormley after losing our lead.  Brown is a really interesting prospect because he can play some TE as well.

If it were to affect anyone it would be Brown, who seems to have UM as his leader. Brown like Mario is underdeveloped and would take a redshirt year and probably another season to add the necessary weight for the position. Brown is 6'6" or 6'5" but also plays quarterback and is a bit skinny. Meanwhile, Mario is at this point a "tweener" between the LB and Rush End position. Personally, I feel Brown has a higher upside.

As far as Wormley he is a man child already at the necessary size to play the position. If we were to accept these two and pass on Wormley that would be a monster mistake. Personally I think we will take 3 DE's this year. Someone like Wormley can go anywhere he wants so I don't think either of these recruits will affect his decision much.

While he is playing the 5-tech end position everyone projects his scholarship as a DT it seems. Don't know if its his versatitly to possibly move inside to the 3-tech or just the different terms for the Strongside DE. I was just using it as a DT scholarship. Also, Wormley is talented enough to play either end position.

This could be the reason TomVH informed us that UM is being wierd with the DT scholarships. It seems we pulled O'Briens scholarship at this point and others. Sitting so favorably with DE's and a few DT's (Pipkens/Day) with the limited scholarships. When TomVH broke this news my impression of DL recruiting all but blew up so I really have no idea whats going on anymore.

We are definitely in pretty good with Brown and Wormley, and yes, Noah Spence is still a long shot, however, I wouldn't exactly call Washington and Pittman longshots.  With the troubles going on at OSU, Michigan has been making major plays on both of those kids.  Pittman has already visited us and Washington will be visiting soon.  From what I've read we're in the top five for both kids and I wouldn't say that makes them longshots.  Being in the top 5 for any kid never makes them a longshot unless they're considered a lock for somewhere else, which is not the case here.

So if we get a DE to commit would this start a chain reaction like it did with the LB recruits? We have a ton of offers out to really good DE's most of which are in the area (Wormley, Pittman, Washington, Ojemudia, Brown, Strobel, ect . . ) It wil be interesting to see how this plays out if he does in fact commit.

Hopefully Wormley pulls the trigger!!!!!!!!!!!

A couple of sources from Rivals calling MO to Michigan a done deal.  Spartan sources from their Rivals site confirm they are hearing the same info.
