🔐[LOCKED] House Judiciary Committee trolls Spencer Petras and Iowa Football

[Locked, my explanation can be found in the Mod Sticky thread---rob f]

At the risk of violating the 'no politics' rule, comparing Biden to Iowa's offense is just below the belt. Disagree with Biden all you want, but what happened to basic human decency? 🤣

An apolitical response: This is pure douchery.  Why not single out a pro team, like the Carolina Panthers, for their ineptness.  At least Iowa won the Big Ten West, such as it was in 2023.  I know with NIL people will say college teams are really amateurs anymore.  There's still a difference, and I doubt most of those pictured were getting much NIL money.

I WISH Washington DC were Iowa.

Instead of being Iowa, who is made fun of for choosing austerity but at least scores their 7 points a game in a 100% completely honest fashion ............ Washington DC instead has for multiple decades run the "deficit spending offense", mortgaging 2,000,000,000,000 points annually from FUTURE seasons.

One of the more blatant forms of "cheating" (stealing from the future) around.

I think the subtext of this tweet is that Iowa fan (as of November 26th, 2023) Jim Jordan was upset that his new favorite team didn't manage to score a few/any points on us.

we can say anything we want in this thread because it will be gone like the wind as soon as a mod wakes up, grabs a cup of coffee, and says, 'oh, yeah, can't have that'.

good morning everyone

If your thread title starts with House judiciary committee, just close your browser and walk away from the computer.

I understand your point (and agree with it) but I still think this is probably not a great post to have on the message board because it's too hard, maybe impossible, to comment on the Iowa offense portion (certainly in bounds here) without considering the comp being used here (definitely out of bounds).

I think it would be more relevant for a House tweet to reference PSU and sad field goals.  Or perhaps going for two and failing when the game is already out of reach.

Clever.

That account, whether you agree with its politics or not, likes being spicy. That spiciness can be very hit or miss. This one was clever.

This is NOT the House Judiciary Committee.

This is the Twitter account representing the *GOP* portion of the House Judiciary Committee.

And a reminder that the top ranking GOP member of the House Judiciary Committee, current sitting Chairman, is none other than Jim "Gym" Jordan, accused of turning a blind eye and helping cover up systemic rape of athletes under his watch during his time at Ohio State University.

-----------

Or in other words, this post deserves all the "love and affection" due to not only Ohio State University, but specifically, Gym Jordan.

Supporters of Jordan and Gaetz were the ones yelling about how great and important the movie Sound of Freedom is. But when faced with real life predators, those same people will turn around and vote for them as long as they tweet things attacking people they don't like.
