Kurt Taylor reaffirms commitment to Michigan

Per Maize n Brew. He had recent interest from MSU and Hawaii but is staying with the good guys.

Honestly? My guess is that he's a guy for whom the best-case recruiting scenarios (Najee Harris, Nico Collins, Isaiah Wilson, etc) didn't leave space for. He was probably told something like this and advised to have other options available, but that if Michigan had space they wanted him in the class.

As we get down to crunch time it does not appear that Michigan is in play for enough recruits to jeopardize his space, and everybody has confirmed that he is in.

I'm fine with this if it is the case. And I am fine with him, being on the lower rungs of a good class, knowing what else is available.

Harbaugh has proven he doesn't use scholarships on guys unless he thinks they can play, and as much as we make fun of Dantonio, he does have a track record of finding unheralded recruits who turn out to be very good college players. I have a feeling the kid will have a much more impactful career than any of us expect.

I remember saying this exact kind of thing for Drew Dileo.

He was almost apologetic when he signed with Michigan.  Said he hoped he could show Michigan fans that he was worthy of the offer.

We all know how that turned out.

I'll be rooting hard for Mr. Taylor to be the next Drew Dileo.

Kurt Taylor is strong enough to rip your arms out of your sockets and beat you unconscious with them. I'd enjoy watching that, but he doesn't seem the quality of person to actually do that. Pity.

Your toasts at wedding banquets must be awesome—"I'd normally propose a toast to the bride and groom on this happy day, but I gotta tell you, she's just not the quality of bride you deserve. I don't like her game at all."

A guy has just affirmed his commitment to the football program that all of us here support and root for—not to mention the institution that many of us graduated from—and all you can muster is a sneering, snide swipe at his "quality." Sigh.

And all before you've seen him play two seconds for Michigan.

I saw him live in Hawaii at the Polynesian Bowl, and I came away super impressed. The dude is all muscle. On and off the field, he looks like a more muscular Jabrill Peppers. He had an excellent KO return to start the game, very nice cuts running the ball behind a poor OL, and wasn't easy to tackle.

I was maybe most impressed by his play on the sidelines. He was always high-fiving dudes, making sure everyone was having fun and on the same page. Whenever the offense was off the field, he'd work his way down the entire sideline high-fiving every single person.

Before the game, he was spending a lot of time chatting with Nico Collins.

however the reports from my son who was watching him for the very first time are definitely in line with your takeway. Said, in addition to, "This kid is fucking stacked," that he had some very nice runs that highlighted his power and as to the game itself said something to the effect he could not believe how fucking big and aggressive the players were overall.
