More than anything his staff is pretty awesome. That's the major thing. It sounds like Monte and Ed O are coming with and those are the two most important guys by far. EDIT: Actually the most important people he needs to bring with him are his hostesses now that I think about it.

My thoughts are what has Lane himself done that we or the P10 should fear? Especially when you consider this quick jump and how it will look, the impending sanctions and his already questionable reputation. I think USC is in a much weaker position then they were at this time a week ago. Kiffin can't hold Carroll's jock.

HOLY SHIT!!!! This just kind of blows my mind. I can't believe that USC is hiring this guy. Personally, I would be somewhat cheesed at whoever made this decision if I was a USC fan. I just really don't want to have a scumbag as a coach. Personal choice I guess. I will never be a fan of USC or Kiffin, so maybe they are a good fit.

will keep USC on probation. What is Mike Garrett thinking? He will be the next to leave with the football and basketball team getting sacked by the NCAA. The NCAA penalty will just be bigger since they will think USC has not learned their lesson. Anyone who complains about the dynamics of RichRod coming to Michigan now after this should be water boarded in Dick Cheney's hot tub.

What? Is? With? This? Dude? Does Lane Kiffin have a golden schlong? Is he just sleeping with all the right people? This blows my mind. This has to be the most baffling ascent of a college football coach of all time. Fails as Raiders HC, goes to Tennessee, commits a flood of recruiting violations on the road to 6-6 or something, then goes back to USC. You'd think this guy was good.

This is good for a couple reasons. 1.) Rivals #2G and 4-star Torrian Wilson´s final three was USF, Tennessee, and Michigan. Both USF and Tennessee are out coaches at this point so it looks promising. If CM gets the job at USF (unlikely at this point) that could complicate things but for now we´ve got the inside track. 2.) The USC recruits we´re into had their feathers ruffled enough to get us an in-home with Baxter and Parker was already leaning our way. If we can close with Baxter, Parker, Wilson...

Ok, someone has to say this...Torrian Wilson!!! He decommitted from Stanford and said his top three were Tennessee, USF and Michigan. Well we are surprisingly the only team with coaching stability! Come on down, Torrian. Or come on up? EDIT: Damn you beat me to it. Sorry for the double post.

You think Harbaugh hated Carrol? Lol can't wait to see such high ego's bump heads now. Kiffin vs Harbaugh, Round 1!

Wow this is a shocker. Kiffin and his crew are excellent recruiters (although with shady practices), so I expect them to keep Prater and Baxter, and it's going to be a very ugly battle to land Sean Parker. Dammit....

This is in response to WestCoastWolverine, too. Recruits want to get to the NFL. First goal. Nick Saban, despite his reprehensible character record, pulls in top flight recruiting classes every year. Kiffin offers the same slimy tactics and promises. Don't jump the gun on Baxter and Parker.

Several people have asked for recruits that we could possibly steal from Tennessee because of this. I went through all of their currently committed recruits on Rivals and looked for anyone that listed Michigan, here's what I found.
Name Position Stars National Rank
Zach Fulton OG 3 NR
Ralph Williams OLB 3 NR
Well, only two. I guess I didn't need to make the table or include the National Rank column. Hopefully the Rivals database isn't very updated.
