One of his best coaching jobs!
January 27th, 2015 at 10:52 PM ^
This year shows what a great coach he is
January 27th, 2015 at 8:55 PM ^
He's a the most underrated coach in America.
January 27th, 2015 at 8:55 PM ^
Hail.
January 27th, 2015 at 8:55 PM ^
Can't think of a coach who does more with less. I will miss this guy when he retires.

JB & JH - Who has it better than us....NOBODY!

Nik having to restrain Coach B. So funny to see a mild mannered gentleman pissed off. You KNOW it's a bad call when Coach B goes off.

Great win tonight for the team and Coach Beilein! The freshmen are starting to play great!
January 27th, 2015 at 8:57 PM ^
Beilein is a master. He has patched together a rag-tag group of guys and has them believing in themselves and playing hard TOGETHER.
January 27th, 2015 at 8:58 PM ^
I heart Bielein
January 27th, 2015 at 8:59 PM ^
I couldn't watch the game but checked the box score just now and was all like...
January 27th, 2015 at 9:01 PM ^
How hard did you try?
January 27th, 2015 at 10:09 PM ^
I tried, but watching the game would have been rude given the circumstances. Did you not see that picture of me at a wedding in my original post?
January 27th, 2015 at 9:00 PM ^
These are the type of games I wish Beilein would burn on DVD, go to an in home visit, and just tell the 5 star recruit "Let's watch this together, shall we? I won't talk... just watch."
January 27th, 2015 at 9:00 PM ^
Nebraska also lost to incarnate word earlier in the season; we didn't exactly best Kentucky at rupp.
I mean an equally valid question is:
How many coaches would lose to NJIT and EMU with two former top 30 recruits (including one five star), another top 50 recruit, and a fringe lottery pick in next years draft.

I see you've been drinking the Haterade. Was it delicious? I don't think anyone thinks we just won a title, but c'mon, a double figures win against a team that can beat anyone on a given night is something to appreciate. Especially with no Donnal, Walton and LeVert.
January 27th, 2015 at 9:07 PM ^
is that you? Bwhahahahahahah!
January 27th, 2015 at 9:11 PM ^
You're the kind of guy who would go to the wedding of a beloved family member and complain about his bad breath.

Stating a different perspective doesn't make me a troll. I am a Beilein fan and think he's a top ten coach. I'm just baffled how a fan base that was expecting so much more is making posbang threads for beating Nebraska. If he is the great coach we know him to be, shouldn't we hold him to a higher standard (and to be clear, he has failed this season. That's not up for debate)
January 27th, 2015 at 9:32 PM ^
Since the Zack Novak freakout game at Bresiln (four years ago), John Beilein is 54-20 in B1G play, best in the conference. He's raised three banners - two B1G, one Final Four. But hey, none of that matters because his team got upset two times.
January 28th, 2015 at 1:19 AM ^
There have been plenty of other upsets too (penn state, Charlotte come to mind).
Beilein is a very good coach. I'm saying I think it's ridiculous to have a posbang thread about beating a mediocre at best Nebraska team in the midst of a lost season. It's essentially the same thing as if someone put up a Beilein negbang thread after we lost to Penn state in 2013. Live in the moment. He's a good coach who has had a subpar season this year. If we are going to revel in his successes, we should not turn a blind eye to his failures (and there have been a substantial amount this year)
January 28th, 2015 at 8:56 AM ^
Nothing wrong with taking a wider view, which is what you're actually doing, but it's more fitting to a mid-season review or end-season post mortem. Nothing invalid in any of what you're saying, just an awkward fit for this thread.
January 27th, 2015 at 11:53 PM ^
Los Hermanos Subs will not be deterred from cheering something breaking good for the program.
But it's not like anyone is claiming we're going to take down Kentucky or cut nets in the NCAAs. The balance of comments on the blog is that an NIT run will be this team's ceiling.
Your question would be equally valid in the context of post-game threads for NJIT and EMU, but feels out of place here.
Nothing wrong with celebrating some smaller things. They eventually add up, and I believe Beilein's banked the benefit of any doubts over his tenure.
January 28th, 2015 at 1:15 AM ^
That doesn't mean we should turn a blind eye to the red that has accumulated this season. Maybe quite a bit of it was not his fault, but at the end of the day a team that had a great deal if talent (if you don't want to look at star ratings, look at how they played Villanova) had a wasted season.
I'm not saying we should fire the guy. I'm saying I celebrate the guy when he does something awesome (like last year) and I will also review his performance accurately when the team gets a season flushed down the toilet. And make no mistake, so far that's what this season has been
January 27th, 2015 at 9:01 PM ^
This was the best we've played all season. This team grew up tonight in a HUGE way. Couldn't be more proud. Hail
January 27th, 2015 at 9:08 PM ^
Beilein develops talent as well as any coach I've ever seen. Every single game they seem to not only get better, but in doing so find ways to overcome huge impediments. No excuses. Just play better.
Coach Beilein is truly a Michigan Man. Really proud of this team and their leadership.
January 27th, 2015 at 9:01 PM ^
yay!!
we win with weird guys. all hail beilein!
now let's beat michigan state (even though i guarantee izzo is already coming up with excuses since they have to play rutgers away 3 days before the game due to snowpocalypse 2015)
January 27th, 2015 at 9:02 PM ^
Suddenly, the rest of the schedule doesn't look nearly as daunting as it did before this game started.
