Joel Klatt passing comment on JJ not being 100%?

I believe he said something about this after the missed throw to Johnson on the woulda-been wide open TD, but I have heard/read no rumbles about JJ’s health being an issue recently. Am I out of the loop?

He was gimpy after a hit late in the PSU game. He didn't seem to be limping today, but it's possible Klatt knew something, I suppose. Would explain the lack of running, but not so much the inaccurate passes.

Weird how there’s so much money on college games but no injury reports required. If he’s not healthy I think that changes the line quite a bit. I guess it’ll be more of a ram it down their throats beat down from ‘21 style rather than throw it over their heads. CJ ran the same route that clipped Ransom the wrong way and didn’t score this time. A better throw and there’s no stress at the end.

If it's a lower body injury it absolutely would explain the inaccurate passes. The reason pressure on a quarterback is such a big factor is because it will cause him to throw off balance because he's rushing the pass and not setting his feet properly. Likewise, if he's dealing with a leg, hip, or foot injury, he is at risk of not setting and planting his feet properly, which throws off the entirety of physics in a throwing motion.

You been in outer space? JJ was just about listed as questionable today.

no offense meant and actually that was a little jerk-ish of me as I look back that was mostly listed on pay sites.

but yeah, short answer is it’s not his ankle but he was “banged up” and “a little gimpy” this week.

Many have said he was limping before the game and also after today. Supposedly he had a big wrap on his knee with ice. It’s unfortunate if he’s not healthy next week because his mobility opens up a lot for the offense.

Not gonna make any excuses for JJ at this point of the season. A gimpy leg had nothing to do with two very poorly thrown balls where he clearly stared down the receivers, nor did it affect him missing a wide open touchdown to Cornelius Johnson. If anything the fact that Sherrone does not give him a chance to get into any kind of throwing rhythm hurts him more than anything. The OSU quarterback is playing with a heavily taped up ankle and had the other one rolled up on today so all players are playing a little nicked up. He just has to play better, period.

OSU QB can kiss my ass. JFC. Did JJ complain whether he is 100 percent or not? No. He has been a trooper. It is all just internet speculation. Cut that kid some slack. How in the fuck you know that he is not nicked up and his footwork suffered? You don't. Sometimes, it is better to give the kid the benefit of the doubt.
