is starting to sound like RR. Not hate for RR, I loved the guy, but an eerily similar quote when asked when he expected to beat O#$@ S#!$@...something along the lines of "when we're better than them." BK today: "We'll win when we're better." I enjoy winning even if we aren't "better" than our opponent, and given that Toledo game yesterday, definitely can't wait for 11/26/11. Might have to get my own countdown clock installed in my apartment.
Hail. |

i was just about to comment earlier about how i stopped reading the comments section on this site because everyone was so damn depressed. it was nice to see happiness and an optimistic outlook for 2011. But then i didn't write it, because i knew it would somehow jinx our future. and here, hours later.......... |

United we stand; divided we fall. Same holds true for M football. Fuck everything that's wrong with this team. Positivity and good thoughts towards our noon kickoff on Saturday. For three hours of the year, all this other shit goes out the window, and it's time to just line up and smack those bastards in the mouth. I don't want to see us win for Rich Rod, not for the Seniors, not to prove Drew Sharp wrong (really--who gives a fuck about that guy anyway?), but for MICHIGAN. Let's GO. |

"We're going to be ready to play." His response when asked about the possibility of beating both Wisconsin and OSU. Let's fucking go, Blue. |
| 2 years 26 weeks ago | for the record... |
Terrelle Pryor really sucks ridiculously bad. And his interviews are embarrassing. Thank God he's not in blue. Having said that...I'm fired up to watch us surprise the college football world and stomp the Bu%$*#$@. I have a feeling those seniors can't wait to be a part of a great win to end this horrid losing streak to that school down south. Oh and hopefully we'll beat Wisconsin, too. |
| 2 years 27 weeks ago | No win is an upset win at Michigan |
Even beating Florida in between NC years at the capital one bowl wasn't an upset. It was another Michigan bowl win. Every win for Michigan is a victory--there are no upsets when it comes to the Wolverines. |
| 2 years 27 weeks ago | Can we be honest? |
The only thing that can make this season a great season is exactly the same as it is every other year--beating that school down south. |
| 2 years 27 weeks ago | I must be crazy.. Or just stupidly optimistic |
All I can picture is a five-game win streak to close out the year, including an utter dismantling of that school down south. With that spectacular finish comes a great recruiting class, winning over Jernigan, Curtis Grant, Hasean Clinton Dix, and Sammy Watkins. Big ten title in 2011, nc in 2012, with endless prized recruits clawing to get an offer to play for the most storied program in major college football. Greatness is restored to Schembechler hall, and Rrod is given the key to the city of Ann Arbor en route to a solid 20-year coaching stint at UM. So much more fun to have that scenario than this bullshit of predetermined to lose our last two on the year. F wisco and that other school. We got Denard, son. Denard. |

I couldn't agree more. Livid to start my day because that garbage was the first thing I saw. I think it would actually kill them to write one good thing about this team. With all the shit that has been thrown not only at the coaches, but also the players, I think DBrandon should do Rrod--and, more importantly, the team-- a favor and throw his public support behind him, express his admiration for maintaining control and for leading a team that represents UM in a way that speaks to the character of the ideal Michigan Man, (tenacious, relentless, resilient, and a team that plays like a team and supports itself from within, which gives it the ability to withstand the constant childish attacks from the media and play a brand of football that makes the Michigan program one I, as a faithful alumnus, am more than proud to support). In short, "fuck all y'all motha fuckas." These clowns from the freep should lose their press passes. Hail. |

made a great tackle on scheelhefeweizen at about our three (can't recall when) that looked like an easy touchdown. THAT was sideline-to-sideline coverage. He's coming along fast. And something I haven't heard our announcers say all year long that was music to my ears, "Michigan's secondary with good coverage down the field..." Unfreakinbelievable. |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | do we deserve it? |
We complain and enter doomsday scenarios all week long on our asses in front a screen and keyboard while they sweat and work their asses off for hours on end. Good for The Team. Hail to the Victors! --from a staunch supporter, in good times and bad |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | Denard: QB, RB...CB? |
Wasn't he recruited to be in the secondary anyway? Play him both ways and we could legit go 9-3 while D-Rob cruises toward a legendary Heisman season. |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | 110% |
It's hard to play 110% when you consistently get knocked off the line at the snap. Fuck alignments and schemes and position and lateral movement-- run defense is about one word, "penetration." |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | Get after it |
I mean, the sad thing is the fans are quitting five days before the damn game is to be played. If I were a Michigan corner, I'd say fuck g rob and play tight man coverage on the line instead of that pathetic and beyond ridiculous twenty yard cushion we give to every damn receiver. Saying fuck it might work for us since all we can do is watch, but I almost guarantee one man steps up on the defense and they find a way to lay down some hits and unleash hell. Sucks that we quit on our team even though they've never quit on themselves. Having said that, I'll probably be wasted by 9 am... |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | The Offense |
I think running the spread is always going to be effective in college because the defense is much simpler compared to what an NFL defense would run, which is why pro-style offenses are really only one style across the league (where the defense has caught up in both scheme and speed/talent). Lloyd's final game against Florida where the offense opened up showed what it could be like to have a base Michigan offense that smacks you in the mouth and spreads you wide and has its way with you like a two-bit hooker for the entire damn game. And that was against a team in between two NC seasons. The thing that bothers me about relying on the spread with a mediocre defense is that you absolutely have to score a ton of points to win every game. This is the Mike Martz approach--it took the Rams to a superbowl, but they only won when he was the offensive coordinator. The bottom line is the head coach has to be exactly that--paranoid about every detail and responsible for every phase of the game. I have no problem with RRod as head coach, as long as he stops with the "I don't have time to coach the defense" bullshit. It's on him, and he's gotta realize that whether he likes it or not. If we want to be perennial Big Ten/NC contenders, we gotta have a defense that can carry our team to a 3-0 win every game if necessary. |
| 2 years 28 weeks ago | The worst of times |
Wish I could be at the Illinois game and scream my head off supporting our D just like when we were at the top of the conference. The losses suck, for sure, but there's no quit in this team. I think as fans we can criticize the coaches all we want since they get the big money for ther jobs, but the players are just kids and deserve our support. I'd just like to see our defense light people up on every damn play, with or without the ball. Forget the tackling, just play like all-out psychopaths for these four games and fucking drill someone on every damn play. |
