Jabrill Peppers Redshirt Has Been Approved

Submitted by JWolve on

Looks like Jabrill Pepper's Redshirt has been approved! Even if he doesn't make it the full 4 years, great to at least have the option...can't wait to see this kid suit up for real in the fall.

Pipkins played a ton as a freshman and sophomore at a position of need before getting hurt. Guys get hurt and can't find the field again all the time, doesn't mean they should take a redshirt year to recover. That's pretty rare.

Michigan and Peppers win either way.  Either he recovers fully, turns into a guaranteed first rounder and doesn't need the fifth year, or he stays in Ann Arbor for five years.

It looks like there's been at least 3 things today alone that we can consider great news:  this, Desmond Morgan's return, and the "Hello" to Wayne Lyons

But, IMO, it ranks second to the news of Desmond Morgan being given the news that his medical redshirt has been approved.  As others have often said, the NFL seems more likely destination for Jabrill by the time he reaches that potential 'extra' season.  And by then, Coach Harbaugh will almost certainly have the Michigan Football program humming along on all cylinders.

Morgan's return is bigger in that it immediately greatly strengthens the interior linebacker position(s) in the wake of JMFR's graduation.  With Morgan occupying that spot and Jabrill being back somewhere in the secondary,  there's no telling how good Durkin's defense could be this coming season!

Help me out with this... It was approved after the season because it was his first redshirt year? Wasn't Devin forced to wait until the end of his true senior season to get this news?
