Thomas would be the perfect 4 for Beilein's system.  Plus he plays a position that lacks depth and experience.  GR3 can disappear at times, but Thomas can hit any shot at any time.  One player wont fix the entire defense...

We have enough guards and wing players so I'd go for a big who can score inside.Zeller seems to be the obvious choice.Payne would be nice because he can shoot from the outside and rebound.Another off the wall pick would be Mbakwe (sp?) from Minny a very good inside player imo

we have plenty of guards and wings, what we need are bigs down low in the block.

Zeller and Payne would be my choices.

Thomas and Craft are great players, but we've already got similar types of players.  We need bigs.

Give me D. Thomas all day long, the guy can shoot, rebound and is athletic and long, this is a no-brainer. In fact, he would be perfect in our line-up.

Nix is inconsistent and Zeller is soft and Oladipo disappears offensively way too often.

Thomas or Payne.  Adding a bigger stretch 4 would make this team largely unstoppable.  Glenn can shoot, but it's a fair strategy to risk it if you're the opposition, I think.

Zeller is a no. He is soooo overrated. No post moves and is very soft. I would have to say Oladipo. He could D up MCW and slash at will with attention to Trey.

I don't understand how people can say stuff like this when Zeller murdered us on our home floor in a B1G regular season championship game. Not saying he's the best fit for our team with Mitch playing so well, but the kid is a great player and could play for my team any day of the week.

Sam Dekker. If you're gonna break a 4 year drought at least get the name right. Sheesh. Eric Decker catches balls from Peyton Mannings Heisman runner-up arm

Easily Adreian Payne...6'11" and a true 4 with the ability to stretch the floor...

Our lineup of Burke, Hardaway, Robinson, Payne, and McGary would be unreal...

Stauskas as a dagger 3pt shooter off the bench...

I really hope he goes to the NBA, because that kid with another year of development and a jumpshot is pretty scary...

Interesting debate actually.

What's interesting is how content I really am with this team.  Of course that has to do with watching this team for the whole season up until this point and knowing that each person on the roster brings something to the table that makes this team what it really is -truly, special.  The only time I'd actually yearn for another player/replacement would be during the times of rough patches some of our guys have gone through.  The thing about those rough patches though, is that it seems the other players stepped up and really made known why they are apart of the team in the first place.  When Hardaway's been cold, Burke, Stauskas, GRIII showed up.  When GRIII slumped, the other guys picked up the pieces.  When the majority of the team was cold against OSU at home, Hardaway kept us alive with three after three.

It really would be hard to put Aaron Craft on this team.  Maybe a replacement for Burke over Spike?  He ain't taking THJ's spot.  Payne/Zeller for one of our bigs?  Maybe.  But now that we know Mitch is the future of our post, I'm not sure I want anybody over him.  Also, for Deshaun Thomas to take a roster spot, a LOT of shots from the rest of the team would go away; he's a guy who needs his shots and that I think would be frustrating at times I'd think for Ohio fans (though, yes he is very good and was the majority of their offense this season because he had to be).  I know I'm taking the fun out of this debate so I'll go ahead and be human and give a few guys I suppose I wouldn't hate if they donned the Maize n' Blue:

Trevor Mbawke.  I like him very much; REBOUNDING!  Jordan Hulls to replace Stauskas when he's cold; it seemed he missed maybe 5 shots all season that I saw, everything else went in.  Adriene Payne; just a different type of player I think Beilein could utilize.  Victor Oladipo for obvious reasons but really becasue he's shown he can be a very efficient and exciting player without taking a majority load (of offense).

I would use him to foul the worst FT shooter on the team (has to be a big guy ... right?) and NEVER give up an easy basket.   He can be a monster on the boards!

We don't need anyone else for defense or offense .... and holy crap I'm seeing posters saying someone from ohio or sparty ?  WTF

I'd pick Oladipo. He could play in place of Stauskas (and sometimes Hardaway) and he can shoot the three and play great defense (and rebound).

It's hypothetical but you wouldn't want to dramatically alter the rotation at this point of the season.  Payne is a talented player who fills a need, he could slide in by absorbing the Morgan / Horford minutes (providing an upgrade) and stealing some minutes from the other front court players.

Oladipo.  Thought about it for a second or two.  He would be an upgrade over THJ and was the only one to play solidly against 'Cuse in their game.

Zeller would be my second choice, with GR3 and THJ splitting minutes at the 3.

Extra elbows, fouls and board.  Maybe big Jared from Wiscy, but I like Mbakwe better because he can run the floor with our crew.
