I'm Done with Brady Hoke

Submitted by Webber's Pimp on

This is an embarassment. Our coaches are in over their heads. They're rearranging the chairs on the Titanic...Not having a headset is flat out negligence. Our offense is pathetic. Very unimpressed with Nussmeier (a/k/a the "Big Hire")...Let them finish the season and then fire them all. Bring in someone who actually has a clue. Art Briles anyone?

If David Brandon had said, "OK, I was wrong and MANBALL doesn't work" and subsequently hired a spread OC, would Michigan be 2-2 right now?   (Yes, I have given up on this game.)

Utah is good yes. But to NOT even score when their starting qb snapped his neck, then e comes back and looks like F'n Tom Brady, i am die hard fan but i am about done with this season NO SENSE OF EMERGENCY from this team.

Yeah. I'm out too.

I was on board with RR from the beginning until the end.

I got on board with Brady right away to try and stem the negativity in the hopes that what happened to Rich Rod wouldn't happen to Brady, even though it was a questionable hire.

Now, it's over. It's done. He needs to be fired.

Honestly, looking forward, I do not want the hear the words "Michigan" and "man" in the same sentence during the coaching search. Just go out there and get the best guy for the job, even if his name is Ohio Spartan. Don't care, just find the best guy and hire him.

I also think we really just need to clean house with regard to just about everyone who has anything to do with football. The old blue network is dead. It's decrepit and there are too many people just clinging to what Michigan football used to be instead of pushing it forward.

We've protected and clung to our "tradition" so much we've allowed it to kill/stifle our future.

We're the underdog now. We need to be hungry again, not the Michigan of old. That's dead.

We need to build a new Michigan. A better Michigan that can compete in the 21st century.

Plenty of other programs have done it. It's not impossible. We have the resources, we just need to have the willpower to go through with it.

The past is dead. We need to build toward a new future of Michigan football.

Yeah, this program's problems run deeper than Brady Hoke or even Dave Brandon. The old blue network, the Michigan Illuminati, if you will, are the real problem.

We've clung to our tradition and our past so vociferously it has smothered and killed the program.

Sadly, as long as those with the biggest voices and the most dollars care more for platitudes ("We need a Michigan Man at Michigan!" "This is Michigan fergodsakes!") and other inanities as opposed to simply building the best program possible and winning football games, I don't think anything will change.

We've tried it the Michigan Man way and that has failed miserably. Now let's try it the meritocratic way.

I was an RR fanboy until the embarrasing bowl loss. When he went I said it was time to go. I got on board quickly with Hoke, he had me at "we'd walk to Michigan..."

But it's time to go. It's not going to work. At this point it's on coaching. I don't care who we hire either, shoot go across the field and hire the Utah coach right now for all I care. I just want to see Michigan return to prominance. I no longer care about tradition, Michigan Men or any other crap that doesn't put points on the field and win games. At this point this program doesn't deserve it's tradition, it was winning that got us that tradition and now they're crapping it all away.

Amen.  This quote says it all.  No comment on hoke right now other than he typifies the nonsense of michigan men attitude and the stale program - not to mention hes not talented enough to ever be big time coordinator.  Tradition is great, it makes many feel proud and secure - but its a worthless crutch when you refuse to adapt and evolve to the modern game and modern athlete.  If winning truly is important, then winning must be only goal  Winning games should be all thats considered when hiring coaches / retaining assts, the old boy network and michigan men attitude has no place in modern game.  Qualified applicants from ohio or wherever should have been hired 10 years ago if they were most qualified - and if winning really truly matters

Put in Shane Morris with 10 minutes left. What does that accomplish? No urgency at all. How about playing like you still want to win? No passion. No coaching. Good bye Coach Hoke.

You simply cannot sustain drives with the inaccurate passes. The only thing consistent about him is his inconsistency. Devin is as tough as they come, but unfortunately that can only take you so far.

I lost confidence when he seemed to have no real reason as to why he wont even consider the spread punt because the pro style is "how he has always done it".  When the stats show that it has pretty much ended returns on punts.  As long as he is here I will support him but I will not lose any sleep if he is gone after the season.

I just think his vision of what Michigan football "should look like" is really holding him back, dont think he is open minded enough to do what works in college football right now.  Even the prostyle teams out there run tempo, I think we see that Hoke has made the call that we will be a slow pound it down your thoat offense and will not change that view.

I don't even know what to say about this...

we are in the death throes of michigan football.

This is worse than RichRod and we have no future...

Next... I was still behind Hoke leading up to this game thinking a change in coaching would throw the program into disarray. Don't care any more. He is clearly not up to the job. Play out the season, which I don't expect to end well, and find our next coach. Unfortunately I have absolutely no trust in DBs ability to do that. Pathetic situation.

This sucks balls.

I don't think I can watch any more of this team. This is simply not enjoyable anymore. It is an embarrassment and sad. I'm not bitching any more...

I really really wanted hoke to be the guy for us, I really believed he was that guy up until the last two games. I just can't ignore the painfully obvious bad coaching. I mean every team we play is coached better than us. Watching michigan football used to be my favorite thing.

I'm there as well.  I'm tired of them trying to play manball when the team clearly can't do it.  I thought having 2 Devin's at 6-4 on the outside with Shane Morris slinging the ball around was a good idea.  Devin Gardner is a bipolar QB.  He's in a system in which he doesn't fit.  He is either lights out (OSU/Indiana last year) or he's awful (pretty much every other game).  I'm just tired of seeing the offense sputter and suck.  It's not inexperience.  It's poor coaching.  There are freshman and sophomore offensive lineman, and running backs, and quarterbacks, and wideouts on every other team in the country making a difference because they're getting coached up.  Brady needs to understand that this team cannot manball and stop constantly wanting to run the ball on first down.  They get 7 yards passing on first down or 1 yard running.  Which should you do?

At least with Lloyd Carr and RichRod we knew the damn ball was going to be moved down the field.

sad day. i like brady as a person, don't doubt his passion or effort, but this is undoubtably the end of his career at michigan. not a good day for the program.

I agree. He's a good guy. But enough is enough.

He should be fired on Monday with Nussmeier being named interim head coach.

What's that you say? It will tank the season? What do you think is going to happen anyways?

Last TD vs power conference team was vs Kansas State in garbage time.

Felix.M.Blue

September 20th, 2014 at 6:42 PM ^

it's not going to happen.

I just can't see Brandon admiting he made a mistake in hiring this guy.

Michigan is actually lucky. Would you really want to be in that stadium if the MSU and OSU games were at home this year?

That would be absolute torture.

that has been so offensive.  Seven, count them, seven quarters against ND and Utah, not a single TD scored.

Al Borges was fired because his offense only averaged 31 points per game, why on earth would anybody consider promoting Nussmeier when his offense is only scoring 22 points per game?
