Wouldn't miss this for the world. On a side note.... I may have 2 extra tickets in section 324 row 15 that I want to sell to a Michigan fan for face value (which I think is $185 per ticket and includes tickets to Saturday and Monday). I won't know until the morning whether or not these will be available. I will post it in the morning if they are not going to be used by our group. |
| 7 weeks 3 days ago | additionally |
In addition to that they have finished outside the kenpom top 15 exactly 2 times in the last 10 years... part of the reason kenpom should be taken with a grain of salt and wisconsin clearly has figured out how to manipulate their schedule and the B1G, but when they get on a neutral court against a team that they havent scouted to death, they usually don't do well when the competition stiffens. |
| 8 weeks 3 days ago | Kansas similar to msu |
Great defense and average on offense without a Gary Harris type shooter.... Mix some zone defense to keep them out of rhythm and make wither defend the pick and roll all day, he is slower than he looks. |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | man we miss |
jordan morgan |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Put Morgan back in |
McGary and Horford are just not there defensively |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | Horford |
He is such a huge liability on the ball screen defense. He hard hedges too far and doesn't rotate back quick enough. |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | that was less than inspiring |
This team lacks the chip on the shoulder mentality they had to start the year, they almost seem disinterested |
| 12 weeks 3 days ago | talk |
The freshmen need to talk |
| 14 weeks 4 days ago | if you are going to win the tourney |
or even get to the final four you have to win 4 of the hardest games of the year. |
| 14 weeks 4 days ago | Beilein needs to step up and take the blame for this one |
You would think the Evan Turner shot would have taught him two things. Guard the inbound man and don't let someone run into that shot. You have a guy at midcourt just playing free safety to take that away. Unreal! |
| 16 weeks 1 day ago | not to nitpick |
but that would have been 24 months ago that people started questioning Beilein, and remember that team started big ten play as follows: Blowout Loss at home v Purdue Win at home v Penn State Loss @ Wisconsin Loss at home v Kansas Loss at home v Ohio State Loss @ Indiana Loss @ Northwestern Loss at home v Minnesota
Purdue and Minnesota were top 20 teams. Ohio and Kansas were top 5 teams. And then they lost 3 road games with a young team in the big ten. I really don't remember anyone calling for his head. Some people were questioning his philosophies, which at that point is probably justified. I do remember a lot of people saying stay the course and what not that our schedule to start was brutal, and it was. |
| 22 weeks 5 days ago | East - West |
First and foremost, basketball is going to play a factor here. The "eye" alignment puts 6 of the 8 best basketball programs in one division, and yes I think there will be divisions for basketball. The reason being it works for functionality - (play divisional opponents twice, home and home, while playing all other divisional opponents once for a total of 19 conference games in basketball). The other reason I like east - west is because I don't want to see Michigan play Purdue, Illinois, Northwestern and Indiana in football every year. I am tired of lackluster football match-ups. Having those 4 in your division guarantees 2 body bag B1G games per year. I would much rather see Penn State and Sparty rotate on and off with Ohio and our best cross over game. Also, I think there is something to be said for creating an SEC West type of division. Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Arkansas have all benefited from it. Kids want to play in big games on national tv with everyone watching. Michigan v. Purdue-Indiana-Illinois-Northwestern is not on national tv in primetime. Michigan v. Penn State-Ohio will be on national tv. |
| 24 weeks 5 days ago | glad to see |
glad to see that I am not the only one that thinks this is crazy. |
| 24 weeks 5 days ago | basketball |
That just happened this year for basketball. They re-seated all of Crisler and did a poor job in doing so, thereby enraging a lot of long time season ticket holders. I have had season tickets for basketball through some of the darkest hours and lost my seats due to the re-seating project. I would bet a dollar this is coming down the pipeline for football in the next 3 years. |
| 24 weeks 5 days ago | In a word.... NO |
You must be crazy, because I know several people including myself who grew up going to Michigan football and basketball games but ended up going elsewhere for school. My situation was unique in that I had friends and family that had season tickets when I was a child and got to go to lots of games. I choose to go to a school that allowed me to continue playing athletics (I wasn't good enough for D-1), turned down the opportunity to go to Michigan (yes I actually got in and didn't go as crazy as that might sound) yet I still donate money to the University. Furthermore, this change really doesn't affect me, since alums just starting to donate would still be a long ways behind me on the priority points list, but to me this sends a poor message. Michigan is a universal brand similar to the Yankees, the Dodgers, the Cowboys, the Knicks and so on. I would bet that the Victors Club is made up of 30-40% of non-alums. So yes you are crazy. And just because you can't imagine someone doing something, doesn't mean someone else might think that same thing is normal. You would think your Michigan degree would have helped you be more insightful. |
| 25 weeks 1 day ago | The next one |
Time to look forward... we didn't have a great year, but we have a tremendous opportunity in front of us in 2013 having Notre Dame, Nebraska and Ohio in our back yard. Our toughest road games are Northwestern, Penn State and Michigan State. If both lines can find some guys we could be back in the Rose Bowl hunt and maybe more. Go Blue!!! |
| 27 weeks 6 days ago | better off driving down in the morning |
Seriously don't stay in Columbus, plus if you are really on a budget you won't find anything south of Toledo for a reasonable rate. On a side note, if anyone has tickets they can't use or want to sell I will pay whatever, but I would like to sit in the Michigan section.

I award you all of the points......... |
| 29 weeks 3 days ago | what a difference 4 years makes |
In 2008, we said the same thing about RR's offense, and most people responded that he should adapt to the offense that he inherited. Funny that I don't really hear anyone else saying that and to be fair Borges inherited a hell of a lot more talent than RR did in 2008, at least offensively. |
| 29 weeks 4 days ago | on a side note |
so i think my other computer crashed.... any suggestions |
| 29 weeks 4 days ago | this is completely on the coaching staff |
you have a mobile qb. Your second qb needs to be ready to play at all times. Bellomy actually looks worse than Sheridan, and more than questioning the playcalling which has been iffy at best I am questioning Borges ability to coach a quarterback. After all he is the quarterback coach. |
| 29 weeks 4 days ago | wow |
all i can say is wow... at this pace we aer going to set a record for incompletions |
| 29 weeks 4 days ago | Bellomy looks like nick sheridan |
I am having a nightmare. |
| 30 weeks 4 days ago | thoughts |
After being at the game and watching both teams closely every week, two things became clear to me towards the end of the game. Michigan State saved a ton for this game, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they overlooked Iowa, and prepped for Michigan nearly all of the last two weeks. Secondly, I don't want to say that Denard has arrived as an actual QB, but you can actually see the marked improvement from the Notre Dame game. It is as if a switch was flipped, he is being patient, staying in the pocked avoiding the rush and putting the ball on the money more often than not. He is no longer trying to force the ball in tight windows (still makes a few bad reads per game) but when it's not there he simply waits. I cant count the number of times he looked off his first and second progression and checked down to Dileo, Fitz or Jackson. I wish like hell that he had one more year. Go Blue! |
| 31 weeks 1 day ago | "where's the threat" |
Did Dantonio say this recently, like before this year, or is this something he spouted off in the RR years? I don't remember this at all. |
| 31 weeks 4 days ago | worse games |
1995 Purdue, 2007 Ohio State, 2008 Northwestern... I did give away my tickets, but today wouldn't have even made my top 3. |
| 35 weeks 3 days ago | tickets |
I have 4 tickets in section 110 row 26. I am under the impression that these are the last row in the entire stadium. I know they are on the 50, but the wife is complaining about sitting so far away. Where is the Michigan section going to be for the game? Anyone interested in swapping? |
| 36 weeks 3 days ago | few observations |
I took in the game from probably the best seats I have ever had (50 yard line behind M's bench 25 rows up). My observations in no particular order: Joe Bolden is a star in the making - very good at diagnosing plays and really instinctive. Struggled with counters and play action. Several times I watched him solely, much better than Morgan or Demens and taking a block, shedding it and making a tackle for less than 5 yards gained. Jake Ryan's nickname should be Jekyl and Hyde. The guy makes great plays but still has those moments where you wonder what he is doing. Examples of great plays are the last play to the last two drives where he single handedly ended their drives on the option sweep and deflecting the desperation heave at the end. Most of his downfall is similar to Bolden in that he overruns plays and is easily out of position by play action and counters. The biggest problem with the OL is they are slow. Denard had to come to a stop more than 6 times to allow a blocker to get to his spot (most of the time it was a pulling G). This group would be way more effective zone blocking, but I know, I know..... Funchess looked good, don't know that he will ever be a WR - probably a hybrid TE type I am not reading too much into Fitz, no holes and again I think some adjustments will be made to the OL blocking schemes. I really want to see how we do with Notre Dame and Purdue before declaring the season one way or the other. We could be anything from 6-6 to 9-3 at this point. Starting to become nervous about playing Sparty. |

Ohio is a tough team playing really well. |
