That game was chippy since the start - with Miss St barking and jawing almost every play.  Shame since Tulsa looked to be the better team overall (won almost every stat/metric in the box score), but was really hurt by picks (and some poor officiating and their coach not knowing how to run a 2min offense in late game situations).

That is the 147,348th time that sentence has been written on this blog, yet the first time it wasn’t about one of Michigan’s coaches. Well done, strong effort to close out the year.

That’s such a bad look.

I suppose you have the right to defend yourself but football is a sport where you get plenty of opportunity to legally wreak havoc between the whistles on someone you think deserves it.

Breaking your hand on a helmet seems foolish.

that comment reminded me of Joey Kocur.  this is a great piece on his career and "The Making of a Goon" from 1990.  Every Wings fan MUST read this.   I never knew hat he almost lost his arm following a fight before his NHL career began?

Think what you want about fighting in hockey, at least there was a code and a purpose.

When he looks at his role now, Kocur says, “I guess I enjoy it. But I don’t want to sound like an animal, like my sole intention is to hurt somebody permanently. I just look at it as a job that I’m paid to do. And my job is not to lose. I won’t fight dirty. I won’t jump someone from behind. But when I go to hit someone, I want to hit him in the face. I’m trying to hit as hard as I can. And a few times it has happened that someone got hurt.”

I kinda agree this one was fine. I didn't see anything that might have actually gotten someone hurt.

On a scale of 1 to Malice at the Palace (which I'd like to point out for the 43rd time that I attended), I'm giving this a 3, and only that high because of the kick-n-run by MSU #4.

I love the old throw a punch or kick a guy on the ground then run away schtick we saw there from multiple Miss St. players.  Stay classy Miss St.

Could’ve been Malik Heath, a 4-star, top 25 WR who started his college career in JuCo before transferring to MSU(ntmsu). He had a run in with police earlier this year:

Heath was pulled over by Mississippi Highway Patrol for speeding 20 miles per hour over the limit. He was also driving without a license and without insurance, driving with improper equipment and driving under the influence (DUI).

Heath, 20, was booked at Winston-Choctaw Regional Correctional Facility at 4:29 p.m. and was released at 8:30 p.m on $3,000 bond. Mississippi State football coach Mike Leach issued the Clarion Ledger the following statement Wednesday night:

"We're aware of the situation. We're gathering more information from the proper authorities and don't have further comment at this time."

I was disappointed in Leach's post-game interview. Being that it had just happened, I would guess he wasn't aware of just how bad that brawl was, though.

Wonder what he's gonna say when he sees the full footage.

1 - Punching and kicking people in pads/helmet is fucking stupid.

2 - Hit & Run punching/kicking is a pussy move.

3 - Like most basketball players, football players can’t fight for shit.

That being said, this is the 3rd best team brawl this century, after Miami-FIU in 2006 and Clemson-SC in 2004.
