so who else is going to commit to keep the commit ark going?
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:47 PM ^
Nice! I really liked Dukes' film. Go Blue!
I am fine with a boring end to the 2013 recruiting class if it means we have a top 5-10 class locked up early and can move our focus to '14. =).
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:47 PM ^
No offense to Ace, but I would've thought that Dukes' "Hello" post would already be written.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:47 PM ^
This commit will turn up the heat on Laquon Treadwell. I doubt they'll take more than two WR's ...
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:49 PM ^
Sounds about right.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:51 PM ^
I would be shocked if theyn only take two. When this class walks onto the field, the only proven commodity we'll have at WR will be named Gallon. we're probably still good at slot, but wideout options right now will be named Darboh and Chessu, along with so far backup Jeremy Jackson. Not one of those names is equated with a downfield threat. Neither is Dukes. I'm guessing if it's not three, it's four, depending on the talent available.

Yayyyy this is perfect because Jaron grew up a Michigan fan and now he will get the opportunity to work hard and live out his dream at Michigan. We need big targets for Gardner/Morris to find.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:49 PM ^
6'4 wide receiver out of columbus. I'll take that.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:50 PM ^
Just watched his highlights for the first time and he seems like more of a tight end to me... He's not all that fast. We can use the size though. Gives Shane a variety of weapons at his disposal. Hopefully Ohio doesn't find any 6 2" corners so Dukes can torch them all day long.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:58 PM ^
he's not all that fast, but he's a huge target and seems to have sticky hands. i don't think we see a move to TE.
February 22nd, 2012 at 8:20 PM ^
Jerry Rice ran a 4.7. Just sayin,
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:58 PM ^
Ohio recruited to 6+ feet DB's. One of which was Cam Burrows, who Dukes scorched this year head to head.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:07 PM ^
Define scorched please.. Not doubting, just curious as to stats or if you were there to see it.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:10 PM ^
Scorched as in170 yards and 2 TDs
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:17 PM ^
So the use of the word "scorched" was NOT overkill. Good to hear.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:12 PM ^
6 catches, 172 yards, 2 touchdowns
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:13 PM ^
said 160 yards and two TDs.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:00 PM ^
Tall people tend to run with longer strides and therefore do not look as fast on camera. Take Terrell Pryor, for example... he looked like he was jogging when he was on full sprint. I think Dukes is plenty fast. From the few highlights I've seen, he doesn't really put double moves on his guys to beat them, and that's important. He seems to use his speed to get separation
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:50 PM ^
Did OSU offer this guy? If so, it makes that o-zone column from last Friday look even more hiarious.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:53 PM ^
I do not believe he was offered by them the only other offer he has is Illinois and Toledo
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:54 PM ^
No, they did not.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:55 PM ^
No offer, but talk of "interest." They might have been dissuaded because Michigan had such a clear head start. It looks bad, losing a recruiting battle in your own backyard.
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:52 PM ^
Wheres Kate Upton dancing?
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:53 PM ^
Glad we got a lifelong Michigan fan locked down, I'd hate to miss out on him.
Welcome aboard Jaron!
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:55 PM ^
He lit up 5* Ohio commit Cam Burrows for 170 and 2 TD's. I will gladly take that!
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:00 PM ^
i remember mario manningham did the same to jamario o'neal back in high school, while he was under-rated. mario's victim? jamario o'neal (yeah, THAT guy). manningham has gone on to much bigger things (super bowl anyone?). o'neal never panned out.
can history repeat itself?
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:58 PM ^
Seems he's not yet rated by the services (and, probably because it's early, didn't have a lot of offers yet). Anyone (more knowledgable than I) know if we expect him to be 3 or 4*?
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:01 PM ^
probably a high 3 star.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:01 PM ^
Based on his speed it would be surprising to see him a 4 star however im not an expert so he may but I'd expect him to be a 3 star
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:23 PM ^
Early analysis on Tremendous projected him to the high-3*/ low-4* range, I imagine his speculation will be pretty spot on.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:25 PM ^
Phantom +1's ("informative) to all of ye!
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:58 PM ^
I just hope that we don't fill up too early and still have room for Kendall Fuller etc. if they want to come.
February 22nd, 2012 at 5:19 PM ^
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:59 PM ^
Great pickup, he will be a valuable addition to the class. The big question is, who will be his commitment buddy? I nominate Laquon Treadwell
February 22nd, 2012 at 3:59 PM ^
HAIL YES! Trey Burk and now Jaron Dukes out of Columbus I am sure is driving those Ohio folk crazy.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:04 PM ^
Burke driving them nuts now, since he is ridiculously good. Not offered by OSU though. Hopefully Dukes will follow a similar path!
February 22nd, 2012 at 9:17 PM ^
Burke destroys their wasn't offered theory. All it shows is they suck at scouting. Now we just needs Dukes to keep it up after Trey leaves.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:01 PM ^
PA announcer better introduce him as the pride of Columbus Ohio.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:36 PM ^
I don't post much but am on the site everyday. I am sure glad to have Dukes, love the big receivers. However, I felt compelled to put something to rest.
No one in Columbus feels that Marion is Columbus. It is an hour north of Columbus, is more like a town you would find around say Fenton. It has a state prison and that's...about....it.
Burke came from Northland...that IS Columbus. Our Pickerington guys are on the outskirts of Columbus (more like Mount Clemens maybe) but still considered Columbus. Marion is about as far as East Lansing and no one thinks of them as in Metro Detroit.
Hope I am not coming off like a jerk, just trying to give some geography perspective :-]]
February 22nd, 2012 at 6:41 PM ^
Marion- Franklin High school is in Columbus not Marion ohio. It's actually on the south end of columbus , my sister graduated from there. You can;t get more into Columbus Ohio than Marion- Franklin High school.....
February 22nd, 2012 at 7:03 PM ^
Well then my Michigan background shows. I try to block out most things Columbus unless my kids play their school in sports so there you go, insert Officer Barbrady to move things along!
February 22nd, 2012 at 7:10 PM ^
So let's try that exercise again:
Marion-Franklin HS : Ohio State as Ann Arbor Huron HS : Michigan
February 22nd, 2012 at 8:20 PM ^
GOOOOOOOOOO RATS!
February 22nd, 2012 at 8:46 PM ^
I knew one of you maniacs would take the bait on that; otherwise I could have typed "Pioneer."
February 22nd, 2012 at 8:14 PM ^
Marion Franklin High School is a part of the Columbus Ohio School District. I believe you are thinking of Marion, Ohio which is North of Columbus. However, Marion Franklin High School is on the South/Southeast side of the Columbus metro area.
February 22nd, 2012 at 4:02 PM ^
When do we find out who the other is?
