Do these announcers actually know what they're talking about or do they get handed a card that says slurp MSU for 30 seconds, slurp Kentucky for the next 30 seconds.

We're gonna kill Tennessee.

Seriously. If everyone could suck at their jobs as much as most college basketball analysts do, the world would be a scary place.

Going to be packed with Louisville / Kentucky fans. I assume they dislike their neighbors south like we dislike ours to the south.

Yeah, I think the UK fans will cheer for Tennessee out of SEC loyalty - especially against a "Yankee" school.
Louisville fans will probably cheer for whichever they think favors them. If they buy the Tennessee hype, maybe us? Or maybe they won't want to face us (and Spike) again.
I say that if we are about to win, our fans should start chanting ESS EEE SEE, if only because their weird level of pride for their conference (even more so than for their own schools, at times) deserves to be mocked. The amount they brag about the accomplishments of their conference is incredibly annoying, especially when it was their biggest rival doing the winning. Maybe I am alone in this, but if OSU had won three out of the last four national championships (as it was prior to this year), I would be pissed, not celebrating the conference, as Tennessee fans did.

If there are any Hoosiers in the house, they'll help. As a Hoosier by birth, we despise all things Kentucky.

It might be just me, but the later rounds of the tournament seem to come up against an increasing number of family conflicts, although this one will not be quite so severe. Indeed, I might only miss a portion of the first half due to my nephew's birthday party, but I do publish the schedule and, in the case of postseason appearances, estimated schedule. One of these days, I will be taken seriously, right? Well, my wife says "not a chance", but I am hopeful.

At least its not as bad as football season. Do people not realize that Saturdays in September and October are sacred!? I have missed way too many games the last few years and have more on the docket next fall. Yeesh. Yeah, you're in love, I get it. I too am in love. With a team. From Ann Arbor.

hmmm... 5:45am saturday morning isn't a bad wake-up time.
The one and only factor determining victory or loss is our shooting. I don't think we will lose the game if we shoot better than 45%. In all our losses and close gamges, we have shot poorly. If we shoot poorly in this game and we can all book our tickets home.
I think Michigan will be in trouble this weekend. Opening odds have Michigan favoured by only 1.5 points. That low point spread is an almost unheard of for a 2-seed over an 11-seed. I can see the public in general rushing to pick Michigan while the "experts" pick Tennesse. Where are you Bruce Pearl??? We want you back!!
It'll be a challenge, like Sweet 16 games usually are. We'll be ready. We have good players too. Size vs. Skill, round 10 (it seems).
I'm sorry but I just can't judge "good basketball" based on a 7 point loss to Florida, and beating teams that are not up to par. Vandy, Auburn, Mizzou...three teams they dismantled, three teams that are not very good. They beat South Carolina in the SEC tourney, then lost to Florida. Then who have they played in the tournament so far?
Iowa: has been in a downward spiral for the last month or more
UMass: not as good as their 6-seed indicated. Odds had the winner of Iowa/UT favored for that game
Mercer: clearly not a good team; they just happened to have a good day when Duke had a poor day
Based on this...I can't say they're "playing great basketball right now." We've had one loss in that same time span as well, though against much better competition overall.
I'm actually fairly depressed I'm not home (in Virginia) right now. With UVA/MSU the late game, I would have loved to go to bdubs sporting a blinding amount of maize n blue and stayed for that game. I watched the 2011 Sugar Bowl at the bdubs there and there was me, another wolverine, and UVA fan surrounded by a sea of hokies. Would have liked to be there to root the hoos on.

Should Michigan beat Tennessee, has it been announced what time we would play Sunday? I would want to go to these games, and I'm trying to convince my dad, but he seems skeptical of driving 6 hours. One of the issues would be the time of the game Sunday, as he doesn't want to get home at 3 a.m. Sunday night/Monday morning. If there is assurance that this would be an afternoon game, I would have an easier time convincing my dad to get tickets, which obviously is great with more UM fans in the building
(Note: I would've started a new thread but can't yet...)
