Funny Shane Morris tweet about recent Ohio recruiting trend
December 15th, 2011 at 11:51 PM ^
Oh snap!! Gotta love that kid #bleedsblue
December 15th, 2011 at 11:52 PM ^
Read his like 5 or 6 tweets to Taco Charlton hahaha....
December 15th, 2011 at 11:55 PM ^
Michigan should offer scholarships to greedy, egocentric, and overrated prima donnas who destroys team chemistry and attracts law enforcement investigators...
Wait, Rich Rodriguez already did that..., and OSU bit it hard.
December 15th, 2011 at 11:57 PM ^
Team 132 loves you too.
December 15th, 2011 at 11:59 PM ^
I think he was talking about pryor since we offered him too and he hurt the program, no need to get your panties in a bunch every time someone even writes rich rod.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:04 AM ^
a.) This is the first time I've commented on anything that regards Rich Rodriguez in anyway.
and
b.) If you interpretted my post as being defensive for Rich Rodriguez's sake, I'll have to throw out your interpretation of his post.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:20 AM ^
Ummm i didn't think it was defensive of rich rod I was pointing out that your being upset on behalf of team 132 was unnecessary and wrong considering it was no way an attack on michigan and was making fun pryor/ohio. reading comprehension for the win for you their buddy.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:21 AM ^
and sorry about the grammer/spelling mistakes its finals and i just don't really care at this point but I know there are people who will feel the need to point it out.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:42 AM ^
"Grammar," not "grammer."
December 16th, 2011 at 9:38 AM ^
executed joke. Even though it was was clear that he was talking about Pryor, it was unclear as to whether he was criticizing RR's overall recruiting.
The "Team 132" comment seemed appropriate to me.
December 16th, 2011 at 9:36 AM ^
To the first poster, I tried to unneg...but sorry bro, damage done.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:43 AM ^
I deserved to be neg-ged. The RR comment was intended to be a joke on TPryor, but I can see how it may be interpreted as a dig on Team 132. My sincere apologies.
Ultimately, in all seriousness, Michigan sells itself. Recruits who stay will be champions.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:12 AM ^
It's not a bad plan, actually...
Shane's, specifically.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:14 AM ^
When was the last time we had such a great kid recruiting so hard for Michigan? I know justice hayes was doing it last year, when the kids get into recruiting others its such a big help
December 16th, 2011 at 1:17 AM ^
December 16th, 2011 at 7:52 AM ^
It's been a long time. Like...two years.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:18 AM ^
Our players are going to have so much more on the ball than Meyer's boys. As we have seen at Florida, Urb doesn't exactly recruit the sharpest knives in the drawer. I could see us beating them in the future the way Stanford beat teams last season (assimilating more information and running more complex schemes with our more intelligent playes.)

I've read this same thing before, but doesn't UM sometimes pass on a guy due to academics and other schools go on to recruit sign him? That, to me, looks like using somewhat higher standards, even though the baseline GPA/SAT used might be the same as other schools.

Se'Von Pittman.

I don't want to say that I think Shane Morris could potentially be one of my top 5 favorite Wolverine football players...
...But Shane Morris could potentially be one of my top 5 favorite Wolverine football players.
December 16th, 2011 at 8:34 AM ^
I think I may throw out the potential part and say he already is?
If that kid is smart he should remain single in college, he could do some unimaginable work on the ladies of AA.
December 16th, 2011 at 8:36 AM ^
If you can't even imagine it, it's probably not legal.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:22 PM ^
And for that, considering he is a HS junior, imagining it may also be illegal.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:24 AM ^
Shane is already picking up Hoke's lingo and calling them 'Ohio', best recruiting advice too... gotta love this kid!
December 16th, 2011 at 12:38 AM ^
When Meyer sends an offer Shane's way, what hilarious response will he bless us with?
December 16th, 2011 at 1:56 AM ^

I believe you meant to say Tremendous.
December 16th, 2011 at 7:57 AM ^
I'd love to know whose letter that is.
December 16th, 2011 at 8:00 AM ^
I do believe.
December 16th, 2011 at 10:34 AM ^
I believe that was Devin Gardner. So yeah we have pretty much the most likeable group of QBs/QB recruits ever.
December 16th, 2011 at 5:02 PM ^
But I love this team. The Seniors went through something no other senior class at Michigan has gone through in 40 years, if ever. And we've got respectable and respectful kids, that are 100% blue.
Can't remember another team I liked this much.
December 16th, 2011 at 8:03 AM ^
Same letter but someone wiping their ass with it.
December 16th, 2011 at 11:11 AM ^

I would much rather have a team of men who love their school and what it stands for rather than a bunch of kids who want to play so that they have a chance to go professional. That's not what college football is about, in my opinion. It's about passion, pride, and a reverence to tradition, on top of winning.
If a 5-star kid grew up loving michigan and wants to go here or feels a special bond to the school for whatever reason, then we can all rejoice. But we should rejoice even if it's a 3-star kid or a 2-star kid. Stars don't matter when you've got heart as Mo's teams showed during the 90s (Biakabatuka!!!).
Schools only become perennial powers when there's something more to play for than just the game next saturday. For example, this season was about the seniors and overcoming all the bullshit they've had to put up with for the last 3 years. But the underclassmen also played their heart out for the seniors this season and with that comes the ideal of Michigan and what it means to wear the Maize and Blue.
Shane understands this to some degree (he won't know until he walks out onto the field vs. App. State). He knows that Ohio can only build a team as good as its parts (Dunn, Pittman, Spence), but to build a team is something that takes heart and pride and is something that our 2012 class has more than enough of (Darboh, Funch, Magnuson).

Great post.

I'm ready to go tackle Brutus! Let me at him!
December 16th, 2011 at 7:19 AM ^
You did it!!!!!!!!!!
December 16th, 2011 at 8:16 AM ^
That's the only way having a Wolverine mascot could be worthwhile.
December 16th, 2011 at 5:45 PM ^
Ohio Bobcat plus all the points!
Really, where is this guy? He wouldn't be able to buy a drink in Ann Arbor.
December 16th, 2011 at 9:09 AM ^
This is exactly why I love Michigan football... it's about more than the game, it's about the team (the team, the team).
December 16th, 2011 at 9:43 AM ^
I love the passion and maybe you can make it into a Disney movie I'll pretend I got something stuck in my eye when my wife asks if I'm crying, but the reality is you better have some athletes or USC, OSU, Alabama and the rest will have there 5 star NFL players take your fire breathing team guys and beat them to death. You have to have both to be successful.
Bo, Mo, Lloyd, Rich, Brady they all recruited great kids that loved Michigan, but only when we had a dip in talent and experience did we start losing.
December 16th, 2011 at 12:57 AM ^
Shane Morris is TRUE BLUE! I love this kid, he gets it. He understands and loves Michigan. Shane will be a great TEAM player when he gets here. I really can't wait and hope this kid exceeds all expectations.
December 16th, 2011 at 1:28 AM ^
He is already my favorite player and hasnt played a snap yet
December 16th, 2011 at 2:08 AM ^
Not gonna start a new thread about this, but that Logan kid from a few days back (seemed like a great kid) tweeted tonight about Meyer extending him an offer. He seemed a little too excited. I hope he goes blue.
December 16th, 2011 at 2:57 AM ^
Wow...Meyer really is just lurking around, staring at Hoke with his lurkily eyes, offering who Hoke offers.
December 16th, 2011 at 8:23 AM ^
One for bowl game preparations against the tuna, the other to get out their and take back Midwest recruiting in the promise that: wink, wink, the NCAA is not going to do anything. Why? Exhibit A: look ma they let us have two coaching staffs.
December 16th, 2011 at 8:26 AM ^
I'm not going to give away what I read from behind a paywall, but I can probably say this with relative safety - he called Urban Meyer. The article confirms that Logan Tuley-Tillman has always wanted to be a Buckeye. So I don't think this is a case of Urban stealing anything. However, is it convienent that Urban offered him shortly after we did? It most certainly is...
