Friday Open/Posbang Thread
Everyone deserves to wake up to a posbang on Fridays so go ahead and posbang away. Share your plans for this weekend, your greatest dreams, or random nonsensical internet treasure here.
For me? Once I finish this wonderful paper, I'll enjoy a nice and long 10 hour nap, followed by playing some basketball, and acting like a mature adult by going to see Epic.
Facing some early morning grumpiness?
Enjoy some life advice from the office:
Or a cat GIF:
Buying a new(used) car.
More probably, clean my house, mow my lawn, drink some beer and relax.
today I am moving from Ohio back to Michigan. I am happy as a clam.
Downside is possibility of t-storms, heat, humidity, etc etc. TBH though, I don't even give a single flying fudgesicle cuz MEEEECHIGAN baby!
There's a downside of moving from Ohio to Michigan????
Prolly going to jam out in costco, stock up on everything I have been putting off buying for the last month. Want to goto the movies with the wife but can't seem to find a good movie out that both of us want to see. Hangover 3 is the top contender but it has gotten such awful reviews. Anyone seen it? Is it really as bad as the critics say?
last week on the board here: http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/very-ot-hangover-3-thread-may-contain-spoilers
From the comments in that thread, it seems to not be so good. Only thing I've seen in theaters recently was the new Star Trek last week, loved it.
90's nostalgia concert tonight in downtown Raleigh: Filter, Sponge, Live, and Everclear. Playing racquetball in the morning to remove the old beer from my system, then I'll complete the oil change by lounging at the pool and drinking fresh beer the rest of the day.
Best decade EVA
meeting up with some old friends and bar hopping around the north side
Trying to convince my wife to go out to Dewey Beach tomorrow to beat the heat (mid 90s in Howard County, low 80s out at the Delaware beaches).
Just drank a big-ass Starbucks iced coffee....no more caffeine for me today!
Have a case of Oberon in the basement that I will be trying to empty when I get home.
For once we don't really have much on our calendar. Our town is having their summer days carnival already, and it is directly across the street from our house, so the plan is to chill and grill on the front lawn and listen to the free concerts all weekend. Tomorrow night's headliner is the amazing Beatles cover band American English. They are really really good, this will be my fourth time seeing them.
Have a great weekend everyone and congrats to the posters above with their new kids, graduations, or weddings this weekend!
Michigan must survive the WCWS elimination tomorrow and then again the next day.
I will be mounting an expedition and safari into the deepest, darkest depths of my back yard. It's a jungle out there. Oh, I have Oberon too. I will prevail, although I might need an opener, since I don't have a Hoke.
fun flying again this Summer and fly to a few games in A2 this Autumn. Some deferred yard-work. Visit the zoo with the family. Sunday, find a good book to read and relax and wait for Hand, Adoree, or Fournette to "shock the world".
Since I'm done mopping sewage out of my basement, I can resume my semi-competent child care duties!
Alas no drinking until the wife's tires hit the driveway @ 7:15pm.
Have a great weekend!
At what point does a nap become a sleep?
minutes. Anthing before that and you are just "resting your eyes."
Working from home but not really working at all. Going to start some ribs in a few and then head down to get Lake Erie Monster on tap.
Just got an e-reminder from my corporate compliance department that I have training due in a MONTH from now. Seriously? Thanks for ruining my Posbang Friday, ass-holes.
Online training course due in the middle of July...but it's four hours long, so I understand the early notification. It has something to do with the corporate vision of efficiency, i.e. nothing whatsoever to do with actual work. No clue why it should take four hours.
I could understand the early notice if I were a 10-year-old but we're talking about professionals here. Its extremely insulting and the best part is they copy our managers! The training module was just posted less than 2 weeks ago and they're already giving a "month left" notice. F-ing a--holes.
Oh, and even better, we can't access YouTube anymore. Not that I should be watching videos about Battlefield 3 at work anyway (and not that I do). Just sayin'.
I'm very new to the East Coast, and I'm already suffering from Michigan microbrew withdrawal. Besides Dogfish Head, what's good out here?
Allagash White is a good one for summer. It's distributed throughout the East Coast (we have it here in DC).
I read Kissing Suzy Kolber and Peter King's obnoxious ass calls Allagash White the best beer on the planet (and thus turning me off to it), but it's probably just deterring me from trying what's otherwise a pretty good beer.
I’m going to finish the closing song on my musical and can some apricots from my garden.
No bro?
Some of the un-bro-E type folks felt like they were in a bro-down.
Mixing it up to maintain partial good form.
Will be watching some of the WCWS for sure, drinking something good for sure, but beyond that I have no idea. This is probably the first viable swimming weekend if the storms hold off during the day, so the pool/hot tub while grilling would be awesome.
Working then helping someone move. Lucky me.
Ironically one of my side projects is putting together a database of all of the UofM engineering grads at the company, so it's cool to see all the jobs just within one company they do.
1) I cannot wait to get off work in four hours because I have been slammed all week and need a break.
2) There is some beer waiting in my fridge for me.
3) The wife is going out with the girls tonight, so that means I will be in my theatre playing XBOX all night on the 80" television. Tiger Woods '14, Black Ops 2, and perhaps some others.
4) Go Blue...92 days until M football and 90 days until the football season commences. I am starting to get really excited.
Had a cranberry muffin this morning...it was pretty good.
an ad for walk-in tubs at the top of the page, or is that just for persons of a certain age? Reminds me of the ad I get sometimes with pictures of three women who all prefer older guys. Darn, my back is out again.
It's only Rock 'n Roll but I like it!
I'm surprised that this board hasn't discussed the fact that the grumpy cat has an agent and a movie deal. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424127887324412604578513352795950958.html?mod=trending_now_3
Heading to Ashleys tonight with some friends.
Also, just found this gem on my facebook wall.
you just gave me chest pains by reading that.
