Fisher

Just passing along info.  MSU OL Coach visited Fisher in T.City last night.  Spartans are underdog, but they obviously feel they have a shot if they are still recruiting him this hard.

Updated odds: Oregon 25%/Florida $25/UM 25%/ MSU 25%

had some ambivalence about Michigan all a long.  I remember reading in one of his first interviews that Michigan was his leader/favorites but, he listed PSU as one of his favorites.   He said he wanted to visit PSU and he had not even gotten an offer.  So, in retropsect PSU was there all along possibly even with Michigan but, he had no offer and had never visited the school.  I suppose the decision wether it was a SNAFU or not no opinion on my part one way or the other looked kind of funky and disorganized to him.  He had no relationship to the coaches what so ever but had establish relationships with PSU and as stated before had PSU as one of his favorites.

After he has either his in-home with the new staff, or he comes down to AA (he said he would do one or the other before signing day) he will remember why he committed to Michigan in the first place.  After he meets Brady "catchphrase" Hoke and talks with the rest of the Brady Bunch, he'll realize the passion and talent of this coaching staff as well as the fact that Michigan is still Michigan.

I also used to live in TC and know Fisher and he is a Michigan man. I agree that he is probably just taking the opportunity to visit oregon and florida because he can. I would if i were him. He is just keeping his options open and weighing everything out. I truly believe that if he stays in Michigan for college, he wont be going to MSU.

unusual.  The kid is just saying hey you need to show me that you want me in this class.  Your staff needs to re recruit me and I need to get to know you the head coach and my posistion coach.   It's very commonly employed tactic that kids use to make sure they are not wanted/needed as well as establishing a new relationship.   He's probably still Michigans to lose IMHO

This is the first time, with rare exceptions, MSU hasn't had all the positive press in football since Carr retired.  The Hoke thing and the way he is moving the chess pieces has rendered MSU mostly forgotten by non-Lansing MSM. For right now anyways.  It feels good even if it doesn't mean anything tangible.

It is a shrewd move by Dantonio to stay after Fisher even if his odds are slim. If he gets him, he gets a great player. If he doesn't, but perception is that he nearly grabbed a solid Michigan guy after Hoke took over, he reasserts the initiative and looks more the aggressor. Remember, "owning" Michigan has been his hope card for State fan. As much as I dislike the guy, I admire how he has kept us back on our heels for most of his time running that program.

He has a cooperative media and he projects a great image for his fanbase.  He has nothing to lose by keeping the pressure on with this guy.

Hope Fisher goes Blue because he is well regarded.  We need his size.

...that had nothing to do with Hoke or U of M:  Lawrence Thomas, the kid that MSU had been staking its whole idea of "We are Dominating In-State Recruiting" just lost his 5th star on Rivals.  That decision drops him down to the same ranking as Justice Hayes and Brennan Beyer, and considering that the rest of MSU's recruiting class outside of Thomas is actually worse than ours (albeit larger), this doesn't look as good for "MSU's Hammerlock recruiting".
