Don't say I haven't done anything for you. This is from Harbaugh on the Jon Jansen show:

“Also, Luiji Vilain, looking for him to have a very good year. Taylor Upshaw is surging as a player. Also say Julius Welschof, keep an eye on him. He’s coming into his own. Mike Morris, Mazi Smith, Gabe Newburg – really turning into great football players.

It’s bad.  A late camp position switch because you can’t find a starter is not good.  The only thing keeping it from very bad is that Faustin’s name had come up as a top performer, so maybe they’re trying to get him on the field, and the difference between safety and corner isn’t huge.

The difference between corner and safety isn't huge? That's got to be one of the more ridiculous things I've heard in a while. I would compare the 2 to RB and WR. One position requires a lot more hip flexibility and the other requires a lot more physicality. One you play with your back to the ball a lot more and the other you keep everything in front of you and you play more with your eyes. Very different positions, that's why the switch is difficult.

I don't think this comparison is wrong, per se.  But there is some overlap in skill sets with WR and RB like there is with CB and safety.  Take for instance guys like Curtis Samuel, Percy Harvin, Giles Jackson, Corderelle Patterson, James White, etc.

There are physical corners that can play safety (Marlin Jackson) and fluid hipped safeties that can cover.  Now, does Michigan necessarily have one of those guys?  Dunno.  This is definitely bad.  But it might not be very bad is the guys point.

It'd be nice if they disguised it a little too. I don't like defenses that line up for 20 seconds so the QB can call the play all nice and tidy against the defense's alignment. I believe Jean-Mary is a zone blitz guy so maybe it'll be a little better this year in that regard.

See Georgia's defense for exciting and confusing.
